Is crafting allowed for PFS Playtest characters?

Grand Lodge

From Swordmaster:

Tiger Trance (Ex): The swordmaster pounces upon her opponents, striking with the ferocity and brute force of a wild tiger. While in this trance, a swordmaster can make a combat maneuver check against an opponent within charge range. If she succeeds, she may charge that opponent and make a full attack against that opponent.

From Scout:

Scout’s Charge: At 4th level, whenever a scout makes a charge, her attack deals sneak attack damage as if the target were flat-footed. Foes with uncanny dodge are immune to this ability. This ability replaces uncanny dodge.

Question: If I have a BAB over 6, do ALL my charging attacks get sneak attack, or just the 1st?

Venture Captain Cormac O'Bron reporting for duty!!! The Eyes of the Ten are Upon Me! Weapon Master (Kukri) 9, Knife Master 4.

Liberty's Edge

WOW... just wow. These two can't work together as well as I think they do, can they????

Patient Optimist (Trait, Religion):
Benefits: You gain a +2 trait bonus on Diplomacy checks to influence hostile or unfriendly creatures, and if you fail at such an attempt, you may retry it once.

Antagonize (feat):
Benefit: You can make Diplomacy and Intimidate checks to make creatures respond to you with hostility. No matter which skill you use, antagonizing a creature takes a standard action that does not provoke attacks of opportunity, and has a DC equal to 10 + the target’s Hit Dice+ the target’s Wisdom modifier. You cannot make this check against a creature that does not understand you or has an Intelligence score of 3 or lower. Before you make these checks, you may make a Sense Motive check (DC 20) as a swift action to gain an insight bonus on these Diplomacy or Intimidate checks equal to your Charisma bonus until the end of your next turn. The benefits you gain for this check depend on the skill you use. This is a mind-affecting effect.
Diplomacy: You fluster your enemy. For the next minute, the target takes a –2 penalty on all attacks rolls made against creatures other than you and has a 10% spell failure chance on all spells that do not target you or that have you within their area of effect.

I know there is a thread going for funniest PFS moments, so I thought I would start one for funniest PFS characters. I've yet to play my latest PFS character, but I know he's gonna be a hoot!

Jethro Bodine (if you get the reference, you are old like me) is a redneck banjo pickin' Musetouched Aasimar I just genned so I could play First Steps III in a couple weeks, and I just know I'm gonna have a ton of fun with him.

What's the funniest character you've ever played?

Sczarni 3/5 5/5

Can the trait Goblin Bravery be applied to unarmed attacks? (Asked the Wayang Monk with a mischievous grin.)

Sczarni

So... two thirds the way to 2nd with Squonk the Wayang and I realized two things:

1) Illusionists are a rough ride. Everyone and their uncle are resistant if not immune to illusions. Plus they take WAY too many actions to maintain.

2) I really do like making front rankers more than just about anything. So I have complety rebuilt Squonk, and he is gonna ABSOLUTELY suck for the first couple levels. Level one: Monk. Fear my 1d4 unarmed badassery. Level two: Fighter. More 1d4 + nada Mcflurries. Levels 3-20: Ninja.

Quiz Time: What archetypes am I gonna take at first and second, and what feats am I gonna take at 3rd, 5th, and 7th to make this a build to be feared? (Note: Squonk has to be PFS legal.)

Liberty's Edge

I'm running Rise of the Runelords and one of the characters is playing a Flowing Monk. Even bossfights are now NOTHING to my party because my monsters are always flat on their backs, followed by AOs for standing up, and finishing off with never getting their full round of attacks because they were too busy standing up!

Tripping Monks were broken in 3.0, even more broken in 3.5, and CONTINUE their broken streak here in Pathfinder.

From here on out, I'm gonna give all my monsters Boots of STFU: +100 to resist trip attacks!

Does the Core Rulebook T-Shirt provide a PFS reroll?

Liberty's Edge 3/5 5/5

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I have a character who will be level 13 at the end of Eyes of the Ten which I will playing in at a Con in the beginning of August. I am also running Rise of the Runelords in my homebrew game and generating PFS credit for that.

It looks like I will be able to apply the follwing sheets to my 13th level character:

“Fortress of the Under Jorgenfist (areas B1–C9) 12–14

Making him 14th level, and

“Sins of the Saviors” Runeforge (Parts Three–Ten) 14–16

Making him 15th level.

My questions are:

1) Is this correct?

2) Do I get a sash and tiara upon reaching 15th level?

Liberty's Edge 3/5 5/5

Can a (particularly malevolent) GM use shirt rerolls for bad guys?

Liberty's Edge

Do damage buffs like Bard stuff and Prayer stack with two weapon rend?

Liberty's Edge 3/5 5/5

What is going to happen to prestige awards bought from a retired faction?

Specifically I got a Lantern Lodge Zen Archer who is thinking about buying Master. Should I bother?

Liberty's Edge 3/5 5/5

Yay me!!!! The only way this could be any better is if I could get a reroll for my plushy goblin!!!! (HINT HINT Mr. Mike "Destroyer of Plushy Mirth" Brock)

Liberty's Edge 3/5 5/5

Is the feat Big Game Hunter from the original Rise of the Runelords PFS legal? I did not see it mentioned in additional resources (which I know probably answers my question) but I thought I would ask anyways.

Liberty's Edge

Aligned

Price +1 bonus
Aura faint transmutation; CL 5th; Weight —

DESCRIPTION
Aligned makes a weapon one of the following upon its creation: chaotic, evil, good, or lawful. A weapon that is Aligned can bypass the damage reduction of certain creatures.

CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS
Craft Magic Arms and Armor, Align Weapon; Cost +1 bonus

(I see no problem making this available to both melee and ranged weapons.)

Liberty's Edge 3/5 5/5

Can multiple doses of a poison be bought with the same prestige expenditure?

ex: 2 prestige = 750gp = 3 Doses of Shadow Essence @ 250gp/Dose

Silver Crusade 3/5 5/5

I just made my first PFS character with lipreading. My question: Will lipreading "shake hands" with Comprehend Languages and Tongues?

Liberty's Edge 3/5 5/5

So even though I am a newb to PFS I have been gaming since the 70s and one of my hot button issues is party balance. PFS, it seems, throws such concerns to the wind and lets the chips fall where they will. I kinda dig that vibe occasionally, but I noticed that recently when given the chance I used diplomacy to steer some upcoming sessions towards not having pc overlap in certain areas. These are not even sessions I'm running, just playing in.

Was I right, wrong, or a pebble in the ocean to do so?

Silver Crusade 3/5 5/5

So Little Man and I just genned new alts: Tonealial (“my friends call me Tone”) Wu, a Sczarni Aasimar Bard for me and Onisan Wu, a Lantern Lodge Tiefling Ninja for him. They are going to be half brothers; turns out our mom, a retired adventurer, made some... interesting... life choices along the way. A friend expressed interest in joining “the brotherhood” and thus was born Brother Ji Kwan Wu, Nagaji Monk.

I thought it would be fun to offer it up to the Society as a whole.

The requirements to join the Brothers Wu (yes, you can be a Sister Wu too) are simple and twofold:

1) Have the last name Wu.

2) You must be at least half Human (Tien) on your mom’s side.

Please post on this thread if you create a PFS Brothers Wu character so we can keep a geneaology.

Having a plush goblin at a PFS table should count for a reroll! So let it be written, so let it be done! (Please?)

Liberty's Edge

So I got Advanced Race and I am building a Tengu Zen Archer for PFS use and I noticed there are no traits ANYWHERE I can find to make fly a class skill. If anyone deserves this sort of love, surely it is the oft maligned Tengu.

Liberty's Edge

I've got a Knife Master/Weapon Master I am playing in PFS and I have some questions about Weapon Training:

1) I get weapon training in my particular weapon (kukri) at 3rd level Weapon Master. If I take weapon training (light blades) at 5th will both trainings stack?

2) Once I hit 3rd in Weapon Master, if I put on Gloves of Dueling will it enhance my Weapon Training for just the Kukri?

Liberty's Edge

1 person marked this as a favorite.

So, I have decided to go with a human knife fighter and I’ve already settled on Weapon Master/Knife Master but the question boils down to how much of each.

In one case, just enough Rogue to get sneak attack with the following feats:
1) (F1) Weapon Finesse, Weapon Focus Kukri, Two Weapon Fighting
3) (F2 R1) Two Weapon Defense, Dodge
5) (F4R1) Specialization, Stealthy
7) (F6R1) Improved Two Weapon Fighting, Hammer the Gap
9) (F8R1) Improved Critical, Greater Weapon Focus
11) (F10R1) Greater Two Weapon Fighting, Critical Focus

The other I envision gets me to 2d8 rather than 1d8 sneak attack at the cost of a feat:
1) (F1) Weapon Finesse, Weapon Focus Kukri, Two Weapon Fighting
2) (F2R1) Two Weapon Defense, Dodge
5) (F3R2) Stealthy
6) (F4R2) Specialization
7) (F4R3) Improved Two Weapon Fighting
9) (F6R3) Hammer the Gap, Improved Critical
11) (F8R3) Greater Two Weapon Fighting, Greater Weapon Focus

Which would you go with? What would you change?

The Exchange 3/5 5/5

At level 1 could I spend 2 prestige and 90gp to get a Darkleaf Cloth Hide Shirt?
