Coralee quickly starts to throw her stuff into packs on Monarch, then hurriedly leads him after the others. His reins in one hand and a Starknife held out in front of her in the other, she follows them blindly through the forest.

Coralee goes wide eyed for a moment and then her gaze narrows and she looks around warily, her Starknife held out befor her and her other hand held up as if to cast a spell.

"Ummm, guys. I'm not sure but I think we may still have company out there. And not the 'let's invite them in for tea and biscuits' company either, I mean the 'let's disembowel them before they try to do the same to us' company."

Perception Check. (1d20+2+2=13)

Coralee looks around at the corpses and lets out a sigh.
"Ummm... what on Golarion just happened there. Correct me if I'm wrong but those Lumberjacks looked mighty dead before we actually killed them. And where in the Nine Hells are Grendel and Stoney going? At least we have closure on the fate of Quirk's friends although I am sure that that is not much consolation to him... I could be wrong though, he is buzzing around up there in the trees somewhere. The bigger question that I wouldlike to know the answer to though is where did these undead Lumberjacks come from? Were they like this when they attacked the Pixies or did this happen to them afterwards? If it did happen afterwards then there is something else out there with the power to have slain these men and then raised them as what I can only assume to be Zombies. Not that I've ever seen a Zombie but then everyone has at least heard of them right? Stoney did say to wait here but does he need some help? Oh or maybe Nature called and he doesn't want us following him and watching. Grendel better watch out then. Hey Fjyn, did you hear Nature call out to Stoney? Ha Ha Ha, I made a joke, get it. So Quince, what next?
She casts a quick glance around at the party to make sure everyone is alright, then looks over at Quince expectantly, with a girlishly flirty look in her eyes.

Sorry I haven't posted regularly, work is piling up at the moment and I've only been able to manage a quick skim and post here and there, not enough time to devote to Coralee's unique posting style. =)

Rad, Coralee's Initiative is actually 15, the Perception roll was 8 =) Not that it makes a difference, still the same order!

Coralee glances over at Quirk to see if he needs some healing assistance, but she can see no wounds even though she saw him get hit. She then screws her nose up at the stench and takes a swipe at a Lumberjack as it shambles into range.

Perception Check (1d20+2=14)

Coralee has been on watch for a short while now and she is busy gazing up into the night sky at the stars, when all of a sudden she is startled by a loud boom and rustling in the bushes surrounding the camp. She quickly rushes over to Quince and whispers loudly "Quince wake up, there areat least three somethings out there and they're coming our way in a hurry."
She then moves to Girther, Fjyndel, Drint and Quirk in that order, skipping anyone that already appears to be waking up and repeating her warning. After that she rushes back over to Quince and stands with a Starknife at the ready looking around the camp into the bushes trying to catch a glimpse of whatever is out there.

EDIT: Damn Quince, you must have snuck in there while I was typing up my post! =)

Let us mark their memories not with solemn silence, but with carefree laughter, to show them that we are thinking of them and know that they have gone to a better place."

Coralee is chewing on her lip, with a thoughtful look upon her face.

"Well, personally I want to do both, but I just not sure how feastable that will be. Why do they call it feastable, it has nothing to do with food? I've always wondered that. Anyway, we did make a commitment to Laurel to gather these ingredients and we are under a time limit, but we should also try and avenge Quirk's friends as well. Their deaths were sensless and crule and should not go unpunished. The problem is that doing so will take time away from our ingredients quest and if we don't make it back in time then there will be a lot more people dead. Oh dear, I just can't decide. Quince, what do you think we should do? If we had a leader at all I would choose you, not that I'm forcing you to make the decision on your own, it should be something that we all do, but just that I think you should act like a mediator and be that medium voice. You know, the one that casts the tying vote, or the judge that rules on the verdict of the jury, or the trusted friend that people come to for advice, or the crazy old lady that has 50 cats that everone knows is crazy and they don't listen to her and... no wait that one doesn't work does it, because noone listens to the crazy cat lady. Forget that last one, but you get my meaning, right? Anyway I guess I'm just saying that I know I look up to you for guidance and I'm not sure about the others but I vote for you to be the leader if you weren't already, because I don't really know what you guys had decided before I met you at Jurin's house."

Sorry guys, big weekend. My son's Naming Day was on Sunday.

Spot Check. (1d20+2=19)

Coralee looks up into the tree and a look of horror appears on her face.
"Oh no, up in the tree there, that's terrible. Quirk those look like Pixies."
Hearing Quirk's mournful cries and words of vengeance, she quickly moves over to put her arm around him and offer comfort.
"Don't worry Quirk, we'll find who did this and I will make sure Desna's wrath will punish those who would do this to playful little Pixies. Let us hope we come across no more such grisly offerings. It is the same to me as if someone had done this to one of Desna's children, the Lyrakien. I have only met one once, but they are similar to Pixies and I will honour your brethren the same way. We will cut them down and bury them and I will sing Desna's Blessing upon them."

Coralee goes over and rummages around in her backpack, finally producing a length of rope.

"I have this. It's 50' long but it's made of silk, so I don't know how well it will attach if noone else has silk. I know not everyone has silk rope. Most of the caravan guards laughed at me because I had silk rope. 'A good length of hemp rope's what you need little lady, none o that fancy silk stuff', that's what they used to say. I like it though. It's not as rough as hemp rope, which is good for my hands. Plus Monarch likes it better if I ever need to use it with him. Speaking of Monarch, how are we going to get him across? I can only think of putting him on a raft, but I don't know how stable that's going to be and we don't have a raft, well unless one of you has a magical collapsible one at least, so that means we would have to make one which will take us most of tomorrow. Would your magic be able to get him across? I think I could pick something small up with my magic and carry it, but Monarch is waaaay too heavy for me to do that."

Never mind, one has to take the bad of the open road with the goods I suppose. So let's pitch our camp and get down to figuring out what to do over a nice dinner. Well I say nice, but well, you know trail rations and all."
She then leads Monarch over to a sheltered spot behind a tree and ties him up with enough length to eat the graas, but not enough to wander far. She starts to unpack her tent from Monarch's saddle, then turns expectantly towards the others to make sure they are following her lead and they're not just gonna pack up and move on.

I don't know if Quirk's quite ready for the responsibility involved in caring for a rock just yet. They can be tricky. You have to do everything for them, they won't do anything for themselves. Maybe we should just start him with something simple like an animal that can look after itself first and move up to something as hard as a rock once he gets the hang of it."

To Coralee: "But I am the halfling, and Girther is the dwarf. We shouldn't call you or Fjyndel 'the gnome' because there are two of you, but it fits for us. The real problem, Coralee, is that Monarch is, in fact, a horse, albeit of the pony variety, whereas Risk is not, in fact, a fox. He's a firefoot fennec. Most people wouldn't care about the difference, but it is there. Risk is most definitely NOT a fox. And I think he may be a bit more sensitive about that than Monarch is about being called a horse."

Quince pauses and grins slyly. "But I think you should cut me some slack. After all, didn't you say you though I was cute?"

Coralee blushes, looking a little embarassed.

"Wow, I 'spose you're right. He's not a fox? Gee he looks like one. I've never heard of a firefoot fennec. Are they related to foxes 'cause that would explain why I thought he was a fox. How did you know I thought you were cute. Did you tell him I said that Fjyn? I asked you to put in a good word for me, not tell him I thought he was cute. Um, I mean I was just, um well the thing is, um..."

He then lets Coralee run her mouth over him, trying to remember most of the questions to reply to them at the time she has to recover her breath.
"I do not think of him as a pet, more of a companion. I talk to him regularly, and sometimes he does the same. Not talk to himself, I meant that he would talk to me.
Grendel does not mind me riding him, but I do not ride him everytime either. I asked him to carry my belongings and he sayed yes to it.
He is not fierce on purpose, but he might want to defend me, if he has the chance. Or he might grapple me and drag me out of a battle, but I try to not let that happen.
"

"Wow that's really good. Somehow I can't see Monarch doing that for me. I sometimes talk to him too, but he never talks back to me. Does Grendel talk dog talk or does he talk like us? If he talks dog then you must be a Druid to be able to understand him. Do you have to train him like a normal dog or can you just tell him to do stuff?

I'd be less work if you could just tell him, but you probably like training and stuff huh?"

After the next rest stop, Coralee continues the conversation about the river.

Quince Darkivy wrote:
"I agree with Girther. Let's go to the river and see how it looks. Except for Girther and the horse, I might be able to get everyone else across with my magic. I could certainly get our possessions across, dry even. Well, depending on how wide the river is. The horse could swim, I'm sure - Girther, maybe we could string up a rope, or build a raft. But no use wasting time going around if we don't need to."

Coralee frowns with her eyebrows at Quince.

"Hey Mister, THE HORSE has a name. His name is Monarch and he's not even a horse he's a Pony." She pat's Monarch's mane reassuringly. "There, there boy, he didn't mean to call you a horse. That's just like me calling you the halfling or Stoney the Dwarf. He'll say sorry for calling you a horse. Well I suppose not quite the same really, but I'd like you to apologise to Monarch for calling him a horse please. He's a bit sensitive about it. Hey, I've just realized there are three of us with animals as friends, you, me and Fjyn. Maybe Drint, Stoney and Quirk should get some animal friends too. I think Stoney should get a tortoise and Drint should get a lizard, and Quirk should get a bird! Then we could be the animal group. That sounds great. Monarch's not much of a friend compared to Grendel or your lovely fox, I don't think you ever told me his name but gee he's a beauty, but he still deserves a little bit of respect, he's got feelings too you know. I'm happy to let him cross the river if it's not dangerous, but if it's going to be too dangerous for him then I'm gonna go around with him. Maybe three of us could go around and three could go on over if that's the case. Maybe we could split and get two of the ingredients at once. If I'm reading this map right then you guys can go straight to the Witch's place and we could go to the Elder Tree. Then we could both meet up outide the forest and skirt the edges until we get to the Dwarven Ruins. It might be dangerous to split up though, so if that sounds like a bad idea then just let me know, because may parents always said my ideas needed a little bit of work to get off the ground. Anyway, I do agree that we should at least get to the river first and then decide from there once we get the lay of the land... err water."
By about halfway through this Coralee is no longer "frowning" but has a cheeky grin on her face.

At one of the rest stops, Coralee takes alook at her map.
"Hey guys I'm looking at this map and I think we are gonna need to make a decision here. Look at this. There's this big river here and it's right between us and where Quirk says The Elder Tree is. We can go around it here, but it will be a lot longer for us. Given our deadline maybe we should just try and cross the river. Quirk is there anything about the river we should be aware of? And given that we want to cross the river, where would be the best place to do so, given that Monarch here is not gonna be too comfy on a makeshift raft. If it means that we can't cross because of him then I'm so sorry for making you do the extra walking around but I can't leave him in the forest. I wish I had of paid a bit closer attention to the map before we left. So Quirk, can the river be crossed or will we have to go around?"
Coralee actually looks a bit disheartened by this news.

This is the Campaign Journal of Coralee Starscryer in the Rise of the Kobold King PbP currently being run by that stalwart pillar of the PbP Community; Radavel.

Sunday, 9 Sarenith, 4707 AR
I arrived in the town of Falcon's Hollow late in the evening as part of a Merchant Caravan from Korvosa on it's way to Absalom. We set up our stuff and most of us headed towards an inn in town called The Sitting Duck. I went in and asked the portly barkeep for a room and some Thistlewine and he was really rude to me and suggested that because they were full that I should try the brothel across town. I can only think that he said such a thing because I am so good looking, but still it wasn't very nice of him. Anyway, he said I had to buy 2 drinks to stay in the common room, so I found a seat and tried to drink what I can only say "passes" for a tasty liquid beverage. After a while I noticed a bit of a commotion when a man was carried out of the bar and a lot of people were coughing and hacking. I asked the barmaid if there was any kind of disease in town and she said no, not that she was aware of but that I should go and see Laurel in the Roots and Remedies down the street. So I did, but when I got there Laurel had been attacked! I burst into the front room of the shop to find Laurel slumped over the counter with a dagger sticking out of her back. I quickly pulled the knife out and called upon the Blessing of Desna to heal her wounds. Thankfully she hadn't passed over and she groggily came around. I managed to give her some more healing and she asked me to go and check on an old man in the next room. So I went and it was horrible! Someone had taken to the old man with a knife (it was probably the same one in Laurel's back now that I come to think of it) and he was all mutilated. So I rushed back in to tell Laurel and she told me to go and find someone called Jurin Kreed. She said that he would know how to get in contact with someone called Quince Darkivy and that I should bring this Quince Darkivy back to see her. So I went and found Jurin (he was only a boy and I woke up his father who wasn't very happy and I feel a bit sorry for Jurin now, he might get in trouble) and so Quince was actually staying there with him. Quince also had some friends with him and one of them is a Kobold can you imagine that! So there is Quince (he's pretty cute) and Fjyndel (he's another Gnome like me, well not really like me 'cause he's a bit too "rustic" for my tastes) and Stoney the grumpy Dwarf and Drint the Kobold (he's not too bad for a Kobold, if a little on the sour side) and then there's Quirk the cute little Pixie. So we all headed back to Laurel's and she tells us that the town is afflicted by something called the Blackscour Taint. She can heal it but she has run out of ingredients and would like us to go into Darkmoon Vale and find them for her. Of course we all agreed (even the Kobold) and so we spent the night at Laurel's.

Moonday, 10 Sarenith, 4707 AR
So we woke up this morning and after my morning Prayers to Desna we all headed out to the shops to get supplies for our trip. I bought this Journal so I could keep a record of our journey to go with the other Journal of my trip with the Caravan. I also bought some other stuff and it was good because Laurel let us spend up to 50 gold on stuff! I didn't quite spend that much though, so Laurel can still have some of mine left. Anyway I went and told the Caravan Master where I was going and suggested that he take the crew over to see Laurel and get them checked out and if they were all alright then they should continue on to Abaslom without me. After that I met back up with the others and after lunch we got underway. Laurel told us that we should be back within a fortnight or there might not be a Falcon's Hollow to return to. Quirk knows the Vale, so he told us where we could find everything we needed. So we decided to head towards the nearest of the three places first, somewhere called The Elder Tree located to the North of Falcon's Hollow. This meant we had to travel through Darkmoon Vale and around towards the mountains. The next spot he said we had to go is the hut of the Witch Ulizmilla and that should be a day's march to the West of The Elder Tree. The old dwarven ruins is a day's march from the Witch's hut and towards the Northwest. I don't like the sound of that Witch's hut personally, but hopefully she's a good Witch. Anyway, we're getting back underway now after a short break, so I'll write some more tonight. Quirk says it's gonna be a good 2 days or so before we get to the tree, so I'm sure there's gonna be some exciting stuff to write about on the way there, some of the caravan guards said that the Darkmoon vale is supposed to be a bit creepy. I think they were just trying to scare me, but maybe they were telling the truth. Uh Oh, Quince is telling me to hurry up so I better leave it there. He still looks cute, even when he's trying to look cross.

Being out of town, the first thing Fjyndel does is to get out his whistle and blow on it. Strange as it is, no sound is to hear for any human noticing that procedure, for that whistle being a dog-whistle to call Grendel, the riding dog and companion of the gnome.

Shortly thereafter the dog chased to the party, nearly knocking Fjyndel off his feet as he stops next to the gnome.

Fjyndel tries to keep near to Coralee, hoping to be able to engage her in a conversation

You're asking for it :D

lol! Should I go easy on him? Nah, you're right he asked for it! ;)

Coralee notices the big dog come rushing for Fjyndel after it's too late and rushes over to him, drawing her Starknife as she goes. Seeing the dog not about to eat him, but instead licking his face affectionately, she sheepishly stows her Starknife and gives Fjyndel a big grin.
"Wow, that's a big dog. Is he your pet? That looks like a saddle on him! I know that 'cause Monarch has a Saddle too. I don't ride him all the time though, sometimes I like to walk next to him. Do you ride your dog all the time, or do you like to walk with him too? What's his name? My Pony's name is Monarch, just like Desna's friend the giant butterfly! My Monarch's not quite as smart as him though. He just knows whent to go and stop really. Is your dog fierce? He looks pretty fierce, but then again most dogs look pretty fierce to me. So where did you say you came from Fjyn? I can call you Fjyn right? I come from the Sanos forest originally, but left there to see the worls and have been travelling with a merchant caraven since I left Korvosa. Terrible city Korvosa. Full of Laaws and nasty Knights. I tell you what though, those Sable Company Marines can rock my socks anytime they want! That rugged look really pays off for them. And oh boy should you see them in the sky. Thgey are quite the sight on their Hippogriffs, wheeling about the city, helping people out. You've got a bit of that rugged look yourself Fjyn, but sorry, you're not quite my type. What do you know about Quince though. He's cute. Do you know if he's seeing anyone? If not, can you put the good word in for me? Have you ever been in this forest we're going into before? You really do look the type to be at home in a forest. You're not one of those Druids are you? My parents knew some Gnome Druids back in the Sanos Forest. They seemed to get on well with them, but I always thought they were abit stuffy personally. You're not stuffy though are you Fjyn? You should have seen this one Druid, he had this huge bear that he rode around everywhere. That thing was huge and it even had these big spikes on it's back. He just rode between the spikes. I mean it was so big that the Druid could have fit into the palm of the bear's hand. I've never seen a bear that big before! Well, to tell you the truth I have only ever seen one other bear than that, but this Druid Bear was like twice the size of that bear! Compared to him, your dog is tiny. It's not really tiny though, it just looks tiny compared to that bear. I think it might have been sick alot though 'cause the Druid kept saying that it was a Diarrhea Bear. Yuck, I'd hate to have to clean that up all the time! Your dog's not like that though is he? Monarch's are pretty yuck but I don't clean them up that often. Your dog looks like he likes you alot! Monarch likes me but he is not very affectionate, he just doesn't bite me like he does other people, although if he likes someone he won't bite them. Can I pet him? Will he bite me? Is he more like an attack dog, or a guard dog, or just a riding dog? The kobold and the Dwarf, Drint and Stoney are a bit sourpussy aren't they? They should lighten up a bit, just like Quirk, he's a cheery little thing. I hope he knows his way around this place. I made sure to but a map just in case. It's pretty rough but at least it shows some things on it."
Coralee finally lets up long enough for Fjyndel to get at least one word in edgewise. Although she has been talking to Fjyndel, she has unconsciously been talking loud enough for the rest of the party to hear, even though there are some things that she probably shouldn't have said aloud.

I went there last night after I left a message for you about the disease with one of the guards at the caravans, because I couldn't find you. I did look. Anyway, she had been attacked ,but luckily I was there to help her and when she recovered she made me go and find a halfling name Quince darkivy, he seems like a nice fellow and he's pretty cute for a halfling, but anyway she sent me to a really big house to find Jurin Kreed, because he'd know where Quince was. As it turns out Quince was staying there and he had some friends, one of whom is a kobold can you believe it, but he seems OK, if a little bit grumpy. So then we all headed back to see Laurel, who told us about the Blackscour taint, that's the disease I was telling you about, and how it has been infecting the townsfolk, but you can't catch it from someone, you have to eat or drink something already infected with it. She's not sure where the infection is coming from, but she said she can brew up an antidote from some plants that can be found in the Darkmoon Vale, that's that big forest to the north, so she asked if Quince and I would help her and I said that I would help her because she seems really nice and I want to help the townsfolk get better and it might be thatsome of the caravan folk have gotten the disease too, so I would be helping them as well, which is good for you. So I am going to go with them into the forest and I figured if any of you were infected that you would be staying here, so then you wouldn't leave me behind, but if noone is infected and you wanted to leave then that's OK too, but I am still gonna stay and help them find the cure, so I won't be able to continue with you if that's the case, sorry. I hope you don't mind, but I'd really like to do this, I think Desna wants me to help and I'd hate to dissapoint her you know, she looks out for me so well. So there you have it, you should go and check everyone out, maybe take them to see Laurel and if she gives you the all clear then maybe you should leave a bit early. It's unfortunate that I wouldn't be able to go with you, but maybe you will be back this way on your return journey from Absalom and I can hitch a ride bcak with you. That is if I don't find my way to Absalom on my own at some stage, maybe even with Quince and the Gang if tha's where they are going, I don't think they're from here, so the have to be travelling to somewhere right?"
Coralee finally finishes and pauses for a second to catch her breath, just giving the Caravan Master time to get in a word if he wants.

In the morning, Coralee performs her Prayers to Desna after waking, then eats breakfast and heads first to the General Store to buy a new Journal to detail her new adventure, then to the Caravan to report to the Caravan Master about where she is going. Once done there, she heads back over to the Sitting Duck to collect Monarch from the Stable Boy, tipping him a Silver for his good work. When she has checked Monarch and all of her gear, she then heads back to Laurel's to meet up with the party before they begin their "Epic Journey to rid the town of Falcon's Hollow of the dreaded Blackscour Taint", as she likes to call it (repeatedly, whenever she gets a bit excited about the trip which unfortunately for the others is quite often).

Wow that's what I get for posting while my eyelids are dropping every 5 seconds... could I have stuffed up my last post any more! =)

Coralee looks at the Halfling as he addresses her and says, "Oh phew, I was afraid for a second you might have been the ones that attacked Laurel and were now here to try and get me for raising the alarm and helping her. OK, here's what happened."
She pauses for a second, takes a deep breath and launches into her description of what happened. "I needed to go and see Laurel because I thought that there may be some kind of disease in town after witnessing some strange behaviour in the Sitting Duck Tavern, which COULD have just been attributed to drunken sickness, but it really did look like they were sick. So I got to Laurel's shop, the Roots and Remedies and knocked on the door... no answer right, so I looked in the window and saw Laurel, well I didn't know it was Laurel at that stage, slumped over and when I managed to get the door open I found that she had a knife stuck in her back! Well I pulled it out and called upon the Grace of Desna and managed to heal the worst of her wounds. She was still pretty weak, but she asked me to check on another patient in the next room, which I did. It turned out that the patient was an old man and he had been horribly mutilated by whoever had attacked Laurel! So I went back and broke the news to laurel and she told me to come over here, to the biggest house in town, and find Jurin Kreed and ask him to introduce me to Quince Darkivy, that's you, and so here I am. Only I thought that Jurin must be the owner of the house and it turns out that he really isn't and that this large gentleman is the actual owner of the house and that he is Jurin's father and that he's not to happy about me waking everybody up and apparently he didin't know that you and those others, is that a Kobold I can see there, were staying here, which I assume must have been because Jurin let you stay because there's no vacancies at the Sitting Duck, I have already been there and checked and the Barkeeper there was a little rude to me and suggested that I go and stay at the brothel across town, which I can only assume he said because I'm pretty alright looking and he thought that maybe I could get a job there, which by the way is something that I would never do. So there you have it, that's my story about why I am here and hey I forgot to tell everyone my name, I'm Coralee Starscryer, Faithful Servant of Our Lady Desna and current healer for the merchant caravan that's in town, I'm just using them to see more of the world you know, get out do a bit of travelling, see some of Desna's Holy Sites, you know, that sort of thing. I was born at one of Desna's Holy Sites you know, a Moon Glade in the Sanos Forest. My parents, Dasso and Coral tend the Moon Glade and are also Faithful of Desna, although I think they get their spells differently to me, mine just seem to "come" to me, I think that they're a Gift form Desna. My parents always said I was really lucky and that was a sure sign of Desna's Blessing. So why would Laurel want me to come and find you Quince, err... Mr Darkivy? Can you help in some way? Do you know why she was attacked? Are you a Healer too, is that why she wants you, so you can help her? Because I still have some Healing Power left, I can certainly help out. I'm a bit worried about her now, I wish I had given her a little more healing. Oh I hope she's all right. We should really hurry back there and check on her. I'm sure the Sheriff is there by now, I sent some of the townspeople to fetch him and tell him what happened. You can come to if you want Mr Kreed Sir, and Jurin too if he wants, altough it may not be the best place for a boy, you know, knife attack and dead body and all, especially since the old man's wounds were quite horrific. So should we get going now? Your friends can come too Mr Quince, I'm sure Laurel must have meant for them to come too if they are with you, unless she doesn't know about them and only met you, but even then I'm sure that they can come, she wouldn't mind. Let's go, we should hurry back."
She finally pauses and seems to be a little out of breath after her rapid fire retelling of the situation, but you can see that she is still quite active, looking from person to person and waiting for a response. She seems to keep half turning to leave, then looking back at everyone with an expectant smile.

Can you also please tell me the way to the Kreed Residence, Laurel instructed me to go there for help before she passed out?"
After gaining the people's assurance that they will get the Sheriff and obtaining directions, she rushes off in the direction of the Kreed Household. Coralee puts the knife down where she can keep an eye on it and gently eases the woman into a more comfortable position, looking around to see if there is anything that can be used as a pillow.

"Oh dear, you must be Laurel. What happened to you? Looks like somebody doesn't like you very much. You're just lucky that Desna guided me to your door so that I could help you in time. Do you know that there's a disease going around town, or at least I think there might be. I saw some patrons of the Sitting Duck start to cough and splutter and one had to be carried out. It is possible that they could have been drunk like the barmaid said, but it did look like some kind of affliction to me. Oh wait, where's my manners. I'm Coralee Starscryer, pleased to meet you. I guess your pleased to meet me too since I just saved your life, huh?"
Coralee's face splits into a huge grin as she finishes rattling off her quick fire questions, barely pausing for breath. She starts to check her over to see whether she needs any more healing.
Let me know if she needs another CLW, or even a Cure Minor Wounds, cheers Rad

Spoiler:
Despite your loud banging on the door, no one inside the Roots and Remedies seems to notice you. You look through the window and you notice a female figure slumped over the counter.

Spoiler:
This is a very and/or post, so just let me know which options work. I will give options in order of trying them, whichever one works first just let me know.

Try the door to see if it is locked.
Run around the back and see if there is a back door, trying it as well.
Run back to the main road and call for help, before smashing a window and trying to get in.

Once inside, rush over to the woman and take a look at her to see what could be wrong.

If she spots no signs of disease, then she gently reaches down and tries to wake herand if she can't then she casts Cure Light Wounds on Laurel. (1d8+1=8)

If she spots signs of Disease then she looks around to find something (such as gloves, heavy cloth or if needs be a staff) that she can use to try and examine her and see what could be wrong with her. She also looks around for something that she can cover her mouth with.

Spoiler:
Presently, the symptoms seem to involve coughing, but a lot of diseases have that as a common symptom.

Asking the barmaid, she tells you that “No there is no epidemic in town. People are just exhausted and probably unused to the evening air. But if you are worried you can talk to Laurel at the Roots and Remedies just down the street.”

After talking to the barmaid, you look for the Caravan Master. He appears to be nowhere within the common room of the Sitting Duck.

Spoiler:
Coralee takes one last look around before heading out the front door. She heads first to the Caravans to see if she can spot the Caravan Master and warn him that there may be a possible epidemic in town.

After that, she follows the Barmaid's directions down the street to the Roots and Remedies. She knocks loudly on the door and yells out, "Laurel, please I need to speak with you urgently."

Spoiler:
You notice that quite a number of customers are coughing. A moment later, you see two men stagger out of the common room carrying out one companion who seemed to have passed out. These people are getting sick all of a sudden. You notice that the people are hacking out gobs of phelgm. You cover your mouth and nose. The ones who aren't coughing are those who came with you in the caravan.

Spoiler:
Coralee perks up as she sees the two men drag their companion out of the room. She looks around and notices what appears to be a number of people exhibiting the symptoms of disease. Heal Check to determine what could be happening (1d20+3=19) Setting down her "liquid" and standing on a chair, she glances around the Caravan members to see if she can spot the Caravan Master and warn him of the possible danger. (Let me know if she spots him Rad) At the same time, she also looks around the room for other exits in case she needs to slip out.

Flagging down the barmaid again, she asks "Is there some kind of disease in town that you are aware of? Some of your patrons appear to be infected with some Malady. Do you have a Healer in town that can be notified?" She starts to speak faster as she fires off questions, still keeping an eye on the room as she is speaking.

Spoiler:
"Sorry. Can't help you," says the barmaid. "Though a vacancy might open up in the morning. Whatever you decide, I suggest that you stay here till sunrise. The streets are not safe after dark."

Spoiler:
Coralee thanks the barmaid and heads off to find a (relatively) quiet spot where she can try and figure out what to do next. She could always head back out to the Caravan, but she does want to stick around in here and get a lay of the townsfolk. She tries vainly to drink the "liquid" that the barkeep has poured for her and figures that at the rate she can stomach it, she may very well be in here until sunrise. She also contemplates sneaking out to the stable and spending the night with Monarch, but discounts that as silly. If she were caught, she could get into more trouble than she'd like on her first night in town; better to save that for a later time.

If you want something to happen in the Inn Rad just let me know, otherwise...

Coralee sits in contemplation, sipping gingerly on her "liquid" and completely fails to notice the passage of time. It has gotten very early in the morning and she figures that she may as well wait out the remainder of the night in the Inn's common room.

Spoiler:
The obese and ill-groomed barkeep is dumbfounded by your request. “All we got is this.” And he places to mugs before you. Before you can object, the barkeep points to a sign that says that: “Customers are required to buy 2 drinks, minimum.”
In reply to your question regarding a room, the barkeep says, “Sorry, can’t help you. The place is full up.”
“You can try the brothel across town,” says the barkeep with a leer.

Spoiler:
Coralee eyes the swill with a raised eybrow and then return's the man's jibe. "And I'm sure a man like you can give me exact directions there too... one has to get one's pleasures somehow right!" She pays the man for the drinks and balances them through the crowd looking for a spare seat. On the way, she flags down a barmaid and asks her if she knows of anywhere in town with a vacancy.

For Coralee Starscryer:

Spoiler:
Finally, your caravan has reached the village of Falcon’s Hollow, the only settlement for a hundred miles, several hours past dusk. Passing the village gates, the caravan procession stops in front of an inn called the “Sitting Duck.” By the sound coming from the inn, you judge that it is a very rowdy place.

Spoiler:
Coralee approaches the Caravan Master and tells him that she is going to take a room at the Inn. She then heads to the stable to put Monarch in for the night and enters the Inn, walking straight up to the bar and trying to catch the attention of the barkeeper.

"One glass of Gnomish Thistlewine please barkeep." She doesn't really expect a backwater place like this to have such a niche drink, but a girl can dream can't she.
"I'm also going to need a room too, preferably one with a hot bath." She gives herself a look over and then continues, "I've been on the road for a while now and need some freshening up."
She gives the barkeep a big cheesy grin and waits for his reply.

Welcome aboard flash_cxxi and Oliver von Spreckelsen! I’m sure that Girther will enjoy meeting Coralee Starscryer and Quirk. Is it OK if I read your character profiles? If so, is there anything you don’t want me to see?

PS Nevermind the kobold. He was dropped on his head as a baby.

Read away... nothing to hide here =)

(although I'm just skimming the boards at work now... I'll get around to finishing the Sheet later on tonight)

I recall seeing a map and it places Falcon's Hollow East of Varisia pass the Bloodsworn Vale.

Cheers thanks Rad.

OK Coralee is done except for her History and Skills. As much as I wanna complete her I am dead tired and my pain meds are starting to kick in, so I am going to bed. I will finish her off in the next day or so (hopefully tomorrow). If you have any problems with anything so far Rad just let me know and I'll fix it up.
Cheers

EDIT: Just so I know, as I can't find it anywhere... Where exactly is Falcon's Hollow in relation to the rest of Varisia? Just so I can include where I have travelled from and how/why I am there.
