There is plenty of space for the GM to add things like that. The Borderlands itself is roughly the same size as Europe and there are plenty of open spaces for more "PC Race" settlements as well as vast hordes of orcs.

We've met our funding and now get into the interesting part - Stretch Goals!
Borderland Provinces focuses on a key area about the size of Europe where many of the larger Frog God Games adventures take place (Rappan Athuk, Lost City of Barakus, Cults of the Sundered Kingdoms) and ties them together. It is a dark medieval fantasy realm filled to bursting with adventure, but still has plenty of room for you to insert your own adventures.
We are also publishing three SEPARATE versions for Pathfinder RPG, Fifth Edition, and Swords & Wizardry so you can pick your poison (or poisons)!

Mark Sweetman wrote: Correction - Pett is a daemon.
Demons exist merely to destroy - Daemons are a bit more artistically nihilistic. As the PRD states clearly under the monster entry Pett, Richard
With each life claimed and each atrocity meted out, Pett spreads fear, mistrust, and despair, tarnishing the luster of existence and drawing the Earth ever closer to it's final, ultimate ruin.
I'm pretty sure he's an Arcanaloth, specifically. ;)
lastgrasp wrote: Based off the previews is that the design and layout you are using? It really looks good. I'm playing around with design ideas in the preview. It's not going to be exactly the same because I can do color with the teasers and not with the book. I think that I hit paydirt with the Agincort font (the fancy headline font) straddling the Victorian and Medieval feel, though. :)
The adventures books seem to be selling well enough. That's what led us to attempt doing a Lost Lands setting book to test the waters for that type.
People are also asking for the older properties to also be converted, again, that depends on overall demand.
Whether or not it gets the 5E treatment depends entirely on how well Borderland Provinces does, I think.
Bill, Matt, or Greg can answer that question better than I can.

Has anyone gotten a chance to run the module yet?

I crunched the numbers on land mass and posted this at the Kickstarter a bit ago.
"The map is 2,250 miles by 1,500 miles, this is approximately 3,375,000 square miles.
Europe, including the parts of Russia that are considered European, is about 3,932,642.4 square miles."
I just checked the area of the United States. Without Alaska, it comes in at 3.142 million square miles.

And that amount of space and travel time is why those Encounter Tables are so damned important!
Chris (Viking Frog) is awesome like that.
I think of you more as an enthusiastic fan, Silverhair.
Borderland Provinces is the book that ties it all together, folks!
More news about this Kickstarter Event coming today!
LordofMuck wrote: This is the best RPG news i've heard in a LONG time! :D SO looking forward to this - best news, imo, since the RA kickstarter :D That's pretty high praise, LordofMuck!

And all of the above applies to THREE game systems.
Pathfinder, Swords & Wizardry, and Fifth Edition!
Mark - I think you should wait to spend money.
Not only that, but quite a few self-contained Endhome-based adventures that have nothing to do with the dungeon itself.
I've already got some of the files in layout. It's very much an old-school gamer's paradise when it comes to tables!

Hopefully I can find a new group of players there that I can run all my FGG games with. When are you moving there, Dragonmoon? I am moving to Anchorage in December-January. I think that you will be safely in Alaska or going in the same direction the book is. ;)

PathfinderFan64 wrote: I would participate in the kickstarter but I am not well liked at FGG and I am sure they would rather have me not participate. I do hope this is funded at least. It looks like a good book. I can honestly say that the subject has never come up in our meetings.
Hopefully we'll get a nice, big boost at the end!
C'mon 5 million!
Just so you guys know, the New Monsters chapter for the S&W version will have more monsters in it than the PF version.
Availability - It might be a week or two after the main project funds for A Long Winter's Night 1-6 to be available in PDF form. but I will be doing my best to get to them through production as quickly as possible.
Davrion - It's a discounted package for the softcovers if you buy all 6. That effectively means the cost for 5 softcovers is the same as the cost for getting the entire line.

You really can't improve your PvP fighting skills when the only type of PvP your willing to accept is consensual PvP.
In 99% of all arena style PvP, there is no risk or reward and you tend to use set skills and gear as does your opponent. Sparring is not really PvP, it is practice in a controlled environment and not even good practice for PvP in an open world PvP setting.
Please define "PvP Skills" and fully define what you think it means to say "Consensual PvP".
Because, apparently you only think it's dueling or something.

Later, all! Oops. Sorry Chuck Wright. There was no intent there to insult or belittle your posts. Reading that line you quoted, I can see that it could be easy to take that sentence badly. Not my intent.
I meant "now back to reality" in that I would stop using an allegory about "maps" and "clues" etc.... that I used above that line. :( Totally accepted and no worries.
I wasn't in a good mood that day, either, so we're good. Sorry for my misunderstanding you!
<laugh> Yeah. I just figured it out.

Sandbox MMO Co-op with active events from the company.
Horizons almost had it down except for the crappy lag-fest of an engine it had and you couldn't decide where to build.
Oh and tables... if you like tables there are always enough to destroy my wrists during layout. <grin>

Bill and Matt talking about what "1st Edition Feel" means to Frog God Games and Necromancer Games.

If I can't walk away from the game for 10 minutes without the possibility of being killed and, possibly, my stuff taken, then there's no reason for me to be playing the game. Because that would not be enjoyable to me.
There's nothing in the game that would discourage that kind of behavior, there is no way to actually give consequences that can't be worked around as they are in the real world.
Just because YOU won't do it, doesn't mean 1-in-50 people aren't going to do it and I don't want to play with those people.
I don't know how much more clear I can be than that.
Even the idea of having a non-PvP server was dismissed with a handwave.
