Hello James. I suppose you will try to recover from Gencon.
Basically we are about to finish AP5 and I'd like to play an updated version. What has changed then since they reached one lvl higher ? Thanks James. I just can't wait to see those minis. Unfortunately we are allready in AP5 Sins of the savior and I hope that by august we will have jumped into AP6 (we are not very fast as we all have our own schedules and it's not easy to play together). Anyhow I just can't wait to know what are the figs inside. I may also buy it just as a collection and will probably use them for other scenarii. When can we have a chance to have more photos and know what is going to be inside. BTW: 60 minis or 40 is not so much of an issue as I believe that U need that many to represent a WHOLE AP.

Ideal as .... Ideally. Unless i'm mistaken of course it's perfectly English ... Unless you have another ideal idea... ;o) I have a question. Where does it say that hurting yourself (1D8 + ST) on failed will save does not take any actions. All actions usually take some time (complex, std, free whatever....). My understanding is that hitting yourself would be a std action ? EDIT : OK i've seen the FAQ ... But well what a terribly written spell. Anyhow i've never seen a spell where passing the ST is worse than failing... My idea would be that casters would suffer much more than a fighter type (not fighters as they have plenty of feats already). A caster would take feats like metamagic for example BUT they need high levels of spells. So you'll end up with Wizards not able to cast many spells for such a looooong time. Finally will the monsters have additional feats or not ? If not then you will need to put stronger CR to compensate for the high number of PCs feat. 2 consequences ... Ur players will then upgrade faster, It will be very deadly for players as they will have little HPs compared to the NPC. One of my player is a monk with Insane AC. Something like 37 or so. He's got the crane style and can block the first attack that hits him + increase in Wis + Monks robes + Ring of protection + a good dext. He's lvl 13 and is impossible to hit. He also took a feat from 3PP which allows him to dodge an attack by making a high acrobatic check (and god knows they ARE good in acrobatics). This bugger is simply impossible to kill (as he also got high Saving throws being a monk). Who said monks sucked ? Waooow ... I'm impressed that it gets so much fuss... Now Since i have done it for other characters, I allow crafting at half price for starting characters. Starting wealth, starting gold are all so similar and it's almost surely the same wording from the boxed set version of D&D. (I'm sure it was already in AD&D 1). The player invested feats (Craft) to get more for his money instead of taking other feats ... So be my guest. That's what these feats are for... In fact do as you want in your own campaign. Unless the paladin is appointed as a legal authority he has no right to punish the slave owner or free the slave. The same way your neighboor cannot arrest you because you drove too fast= (hopefully because it would be Chaos) So i'd say freeing the slaves would be a really good act but a chaotic one still.
This is truly lawful good... Petty Alchemy wrote:
Completely agree with what you say. For your information, I recently rewarded one of our player with an additional feat (any). He is usually taking all notes, always at the gaming table almost everytime and takes time to explain to those who forgot or were not here what happened last time (since we only play once every 3 weeks or so). So yeah you can give away anything ... Provided it doesn't break the balance of course. Hello all.
I believe the BBEG can roll for DC.
Thanks a lot for your kind help. Clark Peterson wrote:
Completely and wholeheartedly agreed.... I remember a post of a guy who wanted to sell the poison in a poison pool trap making huge cash ... in theory. Then it's up to you but I think it was JAson who said that was abusing RAW and it's either you try to have an adventurer's life or a business man life. If I was GM I would make you RP the selling of all these stuffs and find customers and so on.... Meanwhile, all the other characters are waiting. Or going for adventuring.... There are a lot of ways to make cash by RAW. But Pathfnder is not a game of business... It's an adventuring game. Open question question as a DM. One of my players has been suggested(using the "Suggestion " spell) by succubus to strip off his armour such that he can show his powerful muscles.
Would you consider these requests as reasonnable ? Can the players do something else meanwhile.
What happens if the one who cast suggestion hurts the target ? Thanks a lot for your help I'll tell you what happened in MY game in the same situation (gobs from RotRL). The paladin killed a few babies and let a couple of mother live and then decided to burn down the place (with all the gobs inside (mother and children)). Now I decided (being the DM) that I would not let him go with it. In my games (and I perfectly understand that people could have different opinions).
As i said that is my opinion in my game. I don't say it's true or false. But it's good enough for me as i like worlds painted in gray.... Not black and white. ANYWAY... paladins are supposed to be perfect exemples of somebody trying to do goodness and allowing redemption if possible. Therefore he was punished for a few weeks by his god (IOmedae) and got no special powers from his god all this time. the player perfectly understood the message. He got his powers back when I gave him the opportunity to save a goblin baby from a destroyed camp. He then put the baby to the orphanage and got no news back.
Anyway I know my players are going to love it and they loved the opportunity (RP and so on). My advice: Think of what could be cool for YOUR GAME and your players.

Cheeky Monkey... I'm on the west side of the Rhine as I smell of garlic and eat snails and horse meat everyday and wear a silly little beret with a stripes shirt. I didn't read all the topic but to answer to the OP :
Also ... If a player says "I want to be a separatist of cult X but I don't want to take the archetype ". then I say "Fine ... the choice is all yours" No problem for me AT ALL : So the rule is here... Take it or leave it. You are the master. jwood314 wrote: ... Farms animals ? I use the ones from my 3 years old daughter. They are roughly the ideal size.... I know I should have asked before placing my orders but will the AP subscription give me 15% of the case price even if i'm a battle case subscriber ? EDIT: The FAQ was pretty clear .... dooooh

IMHO I would never say there is a 9th lvl cleric in Hobbiton. If their question is "Who could raise our fallen comrades from the dead ?" I could answer that The high priest of Hobbos living in Hobbiton can, in some specific cases, raise worthy mortal souls.Nothing should be granted for the players and nothing should be guaranteed in this world or another. He may be able to raise dead but not cast commune for "some reasons". Grotnar wrote:
Thanks Grotnar ! Wonder how much it will cost though. ;o).The shipping price is horrible to Europe... ;o( At first I wasn't too keen to pay 270+ Dollars for minis all at once. Then I realised I got more than 100 Minis for that at the amazing price of 2.7 Dollars each !!
Good
Bad
Question :
ANYWAY I LOVE IT. And I love the randomized thing also. I got plenty of metal figs than i can't be asked to paint... Call me lazy ... or a busy man ;o) One player of mine exterminated some goblin tribes in RotRL. Including females and babies.
As a paladin he had to strongly believe in redemption, honor (there s no honor in killing a baby) and all the chivalry code that goes with it. So he lost his Paladin powers for a while ... Until he saved some goblins babies from raids from less scrupulous soldiers.
Therefore :

So sorry hogarth. English is not my mother tongue (i'm a frog) and I typed too fast (it's usually not the kind of mistake I make).
Nevertheless I hope my message was clear. although I understand that others have different opinions... I just don't want to go the way 3.5 went (i.e. zillions books and rules and so on). Pathfinder is already getting too complicated. Not for my understanding but for the good flow of the game (see combats once you're above lvl 12 ans it's getting even worse after that). Bestiary are good but OK well after a couple i'm fed up with them. I'm also the kind of guy who could modify and mix existing monsters. So really it's totally dull for me to have X bestiary. Let's hope that they won't go to the polyhedral outsiders which were in AD&D... (don't remember their names).

In my case. I remove and reapply physical AND mental traits. Nevertheless I soon plan to ban this spell as it completely unbalance the game as it should be.In fact the powerful people would all be immortals : whenthey reach old age they kill themselves and then reincarnate into a young body and so on forever.... This is not the case in most if not all campaign settings as kings die and get replaced by the son. This spell is too disturbing and unbalancing. Resurrection or raise dead or the other hand, do not work if you die of old-age. Thanks a lot all for your quick input... I was gone in archipelagos myself for a few weeks so couldn't answer. Now that I'm back I'm looking at your feedback with a lot of interest.
For the galley part not being fun, I remember I had great fun in a Cyberpunk game trying to escape from a high security prison. We didn't all make it but it was fun to everyone... What I want is to remove the usual feeling you get in dungeons. I want to surprise my players and disturb them... Let them be the prey and not the hunter for once. Really struggle for life... Hello all. I'm thinking about creating my own campaign for my players and I'm looking for ideas and may be if you have some you could share it with me. My aims are
My ideas so far are :
- Players are now used as slaves in galleys. In order to make sure they don't escape, some sort of tiny beast is implemented in their stomach. If they don't get their daily ration of Klar (an anesthesic liquid for the beast). Treatment on these galleys are brutal. Some NPCs are punished and don't get their ration of Klar of have it stolen by other galley slaves. Of course they are eaten by their beast (a la "Alien"). The PCs know that they have to get rid of this beast, but first to escape with enough doses of Klar to leave them enough time.
- At some point they will escape with enough rations of Klar, probably sinking the boat due to their escape. - Now they will have a BIG "Damocles sword" above their head to get the way to cure them. They are obviously hunted by all the security forces around (although it's easy to hide in all these islands). - They will get helped by a group of thieves and cut-throats who see them as rebellion leaders. They will give them some help on how to cure and remove the beast inside them ..... - They will probably fight against minions of the priest who hired them at first. Ideas to be added and continued. If you have some you are more than welcome !!! thanks for your help. Hi ! Luckily for us (French), Black book editions translated Pathfinder in French (so was 3.5 but not by the same company). So most of the time we use the french translation for rules thingys. Given that I play with a french canadian colleague through skype i sometimes use english words. Now for the names, I realise that the English names and places are usually self explanatory. I don't know if i'm clear.
"Sandpoint" in RoTRL was translated to "Pointesable" and finally it's not that bad. Quote: We had a discussion on this in our group on Sunday. After listening to the 2 rules lawyers bicker between themselves for 20 minutes, I now agree any monk weapon should be usable. The maths started flying, I ducked, but some still penetrated my head and I now allow it. Hasn't really made much of a difference in game play. We did use it this Friday night with any monk weapons and I didn't see any problems with it. It's just that most monks would only use temple sword but that's OK.It's no big deal really as it can only be used once a round. Quote: So if you have a 18-20/x3 weapon, and you roll a 6 on the first roll. Use perfect strike, and then roll a 19. That first 6 is you confirmation. Likely, the crit does not confirm. My understanding is that perfect strike has to be used BEFORE the dices are rolled. I wouldn't allow that kind of example.Thomas LeBlanc wrote: I would allow for any monk weapon that did not have a critical of better than 20/x2. I would not allow the temple sword or cestus from the APG, but I would allow brass knuckles. Taking improved critical or using with a keen weapon allows for a greater chance of crits, much more so than a 20/x2 weapon would. Because face it, how many players sink improved critical or keen on a 20/x2 weapon? Cestus is only 1D4 though... Compared to the amount of damage the monk does, 1D10 lvl 10 for example. Given that perfect strike can only be used once a round.... i don't know if this is game breaker. Btw i'm reading the cestus description and what is this sentence supposed to mean ?
What is normal damage for a monk ? The normal unarmed strike damage or the cestus damage ?
