Pip agreed to the plan, deciding to keep an eye on Audria. As an avid fan of meats, he also moves to the butcher shop to keep a sharp eye on those that hang out there as he replenishes his diminished stock of chicken.
He knew how to roast the chicken himself, but he was going to engage the butcher shop in conversation on how to prepare his chicken.

Pip decides to be his friendliest as he asks those around the shop about the occupants, trying to get a picture of their routine.

I think one first level heal is good if you don't have a healing wand or healer's gloves. I think healer's gloves is the first item you prioritize at 80gp -- one heal at level 1 now that you have level 2 spells is a good idea.
Diurn does have soothe, so it is not as important is it would be if you were the only one with healing spells.

I was running the Gauntlet to start, but interest has faded. I think I may have driven some applicants away.

Dejoker is running Gorgan Colony. I think he is starting soon. Seems to have enough characters to go.

I was going to run a classic module like Keep on the Borderlands, but Shadowdark seemed to be suited to homebrew or the modules released for it.

Anyway, this is the place to be now!!

I have been roleplaying for many years.

This thread has been the best narrative, roleplaying, character development, and immersive storytelling I have seen in on these boards by a large margin. I aspire to write as well as some of you, but I am an appreciative consumer of the sweat that has produced the content I get to read. Being a player, and Pip is trying to be a background player, has just been a bonus.

I have seen "creative friction" from the top of the dramatic craft, and it is a common product of top creative minds together. Vin Diesel and The Rock may never work together again, but pulpy car action fans want more of their collaborations.

I have been told I should take everyone that wants to play. I would like this to be an RPG elite experience. Doomed Hero in his guide suggests not taking everyone in a recruitment or you will have a bad game. I have found this to be true in practice.

The video below says RPG Elites do not play with anyone and everyone.

I do not plan on playing with anyone and everyone, but I will play with beginners.

Keen Senses. You can't be

HALF-ORC

are as daring as humans and as
relentless as orcs.
You know the Common and
Orcish languages.

HALFLING

Actually, Black Dow led me to Shadowdark and it is AMAZING.

So, I would love to roll 6 3d6s knowing if I didn't get at least one 14 I could roll them again!!

To determine your character’s
stats, roll 3d6 in order for
each one. Note each total and
modifier on your character
sheet.
Optionally, if none of your stats
are 14 or higher, you may roll a
new set of six numbers.

Note you do not get to rearrange them!!

You can also do a level 0 start if you want an even more Grimdark feel.

To get the OSR vibe I would have a backup character linked in my profile too!!

Optionally!!! Who wouldn't reroll in this case

Max smiles and nods at Ruhk.

"Three things pilots like--scarves, goggles, AND Velcro. I will help whip up some nice designs with my printer."

All Max's flight suits have plenty of Velcro attachments for patches. He produces some more attachments that can be sewn on and continues to make two common patches: his caricature of Celebyn all dressed up and a Kyonin flower.

Max was going to explain how pilots don't wear goggles indoors when he finds online goggles with multiple visors that pop up to cover the eyes including a no visor option. Excited, he orders a pair and has them delivered to his location. He particularly likes the option to project eyes that are open and alert on the visor, and realizes that this has been used by many to fall asleep at meetings unnoticed. Probably also useful to cover his hangover eyes.

From the discussion thread:
Drektan loses all catfolk traits and racial adjustments and replaces them with halfling traits and racial adjustments plus the fully reincarnated feat OR he can keep all his catfolk traits and just change the stat adjustments.

The feat only applies to those fully reincarnated.

The stats for halfling are -2 Str +2 Dex +2 Cha

Drektan then chose to keep all his catfolk traits. But, as the point is moot, we can move on to Oleg's. Reincarnation does not come with many guarantees.

I will move the story along.

You are moving to your next round of diplomacy actions (discover or influence)

Brightberry is using society to influence round 2 on Linzi, Lyra is trying another discover attempt on Amiri using perception, I am assuming Iradyiel is continuing with diplomacy unless otherwise stated on the pale female scythe wielder. Edoom is influencing with Elvish lore (sometimes lore skills will say specific lore skill and sometimes they will say related lore skill). For example, Desna Lore is more specific and usually has lower DCs than religion checks just as Elven lore is more specific than a society check DC.

I think Tibold will continue to discover on Tertuccio to find other things that influence him OR show him an arcane tatoo and use arcana skill to impress him.

Pip already traded an item for a CLW wand earlier. Now that the money is really rolling in he would love to be added. He would understand if he wasn't.

From the gameplay

The next morning he burst in excitedly: ”We can part with some loot to get a healing wand.”

Pip takes the masterwork dagger with amazing ornamentation and comes back with a healing wand. ”With the magic dagger that bauble wasn’t to be near as useful as this!!”

Pip proceeds to make 50 paper pictures of a bandage on small pieces of paper and runs a leather thong through all of them and knots it into a loop. He then puts one end of the loop around the wand and through the loop leaving it attached to the wand without effecting the integrity of the wand.

”Each time this is used rip off a tab. That way we don’t need magic to see how much juice is left.”

When no one responded I added it to my inventory. If someone else that also can use it wants to carry it, they can. Pip just doesn't have any healing spells he will memorize, so the wand is it for him.

Hurik wanted to possible strip the barge of useful things, possibly even lumber. Another tent probably would be useful.

Lyrics of song:

Pussy Willow
In the half-tone light of a young morning
She sighs and shifts on the pillow.
And across her face dancing, the first shadows fly
To kiss the Pussy Willow.

In her fairy-tale world she's a lost soul singing
In a sad voice nobody hears.
She waits in her castle of make-believe
For her white knight to appear.
Pussy Willow down fur-lined avenue
Brushing the sleep from her young woman eyes.
Runs for the barge, see the slavers coming
Cutting dreams down to size again.

Pussy Willow down fur-lined avenue,
Brushing the sleep from her young woman eyes.
Runs from the barge. Hear her small voice screaming,
Cutting dreams down to size again.

She longs for the East and a lost land mapped
A cave with a large cat totem.
Or to fish the lake, spinning the first run of Spring
Or to die for a cause somewhere.

Billi waits for all his companions to attack Lamm as he was tired from swinging his axe, but the head of the Shiver ring and abuser of children was before him. Lamm was impressive as he dodged an axe blow that would have hit many dwarves.

Pip begins to dream about happy times.

Pip dream Desert Inverted:

Pip begins to dream of all the successes he helped Chip achieve, and about the security of being in a rich manor with a singular task that had an appreciative and bright young boy to reinforce his sense of accomplishment.
But then guilt began to seep in. He had agreed to help the Bellflower Network free halfling slaves and had the occasional "cousin" visit the manor house of his first master and stay in his large room when he lived near Cheliax. But then he had an opportunity to work for a much richer man far away. And, consequently, no part of the underground highway of the Bellflower network.
So Pip was determined to prioritize purpose over comfort, not an easy thing for a hobbit to do. Would he get five regular meals a day on the new road? He was famished because they didn't even stop for snack time the last couple of days at all.
Pip's last dreams were of Sunday dinner at the manor house, when he had a premeal in the kitchen beforehand and joined the kitchen staff to eat with them as a postmeal.

night actions:

Pip was sure Strike would be confident and competent on the street at night, but he wanted to stay in the temple. He wandered outside the manor at night, but these streets were rough. So Pip wanted to talk to the temple staff. He eventually talked to the temple priests about purchasing a healing wand after doing a bit of talking with others. In a friendly way, he wanted the temple to act as an agent. A nice temple like this may even get a discount, so Pip doggedly pursues finding a healing wand, even one with limited charges.
