"I don't really know anything about ogres, except the few bits and pieces from fairy tales and bedtime stories. I doubt those have any truth or bearing on our current situation though. As for the map, I know many cartographers mark shelters with a half circle like this. I've never seen one with a moon shape inside it though."
After studying, Cary takes some meat from the fire. Her frizzy hair seems to have deflated some during the night and she looks almost back to her what you all assume must be her "normal self."
"Do you need any help?" She asks the group around the fire a bit sheepishly. She clearly feels a bit uncomfortable since she was less than cordial the previous day.
Satisfied with his answer, Carys retreats to the corner to study her book. She tries to smile at Xazt's interesting taste for raw meet but only succeeds at a strained smirk.
She studies her book for the next hour and a half muttering in celestial and elvish parts of different spells.
As she finishes studying, she'll try to quietly cast Endure Elements.
yeah, my thought is just we walked all night and haven't slept for quite some time. So, I'm probably hot, sweaty and sleepy
I'm good to go farther, but we really need to find somewhere to sleep. I thought the plan was to sleep during the day?
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
The sun seems to have dampened her spirits some but she continues to trudge ahead silently. Her hair, however, seems to have taken quite the beating in the sun. As the heat of the day approaches, her hair appears bigger and bigger.
I want to use Resist for my saves (o level +1 on next save)
Fort1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
#2 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
#31d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Carys trudges along quietly behind the others. Clearly, she is not enjoying the heat and quietly enduring the bitter sun at the back of the group. She accepts Eli's food gratefully and attempts a drink from the cactus.
Carys uses prestidigitation to move water from the waterfall onto the lizard's back. Grateful for the more stable platform, she leans toward the lizard and says, "maange taak du." [spoiler=celestial] Thank you very much. [/celestial]
With a nod to Eli she grabs the rope and attempts to climb down the rope.
If she falls of the rope, I would like to try and roll onto the ground in order to minimize damage acrobatics 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
EDIT, uh, looking back, I'm not sure who has the rope, but it seems like Lucas probably took it with him. I guess then, I'll probably jump toward him and hope for the best!
A bit surprised, Carys cautiously grabs the book from the air. She seems to have forgotten that other people are around and have asked questions. One look at the text and her mind is made up. She slowly wades the rest of the way toward lizard, makes a half bow and cautiously attempts to climb on it's back.
I'd like to pick the place that would be the most comfortable for the lizard but also would give me access to the hole when it extends. Should I roll another knowledge nature, or would I already know because of my previous roll.
Taking a few steps forward into the water. "I don't think he's very fond of the goblins. Eli, can you find him another fish? He seems to have taken a liking to you. Do be careful of his mouth though, it's probably poisonous! I want to see if another fish will make those markings darker.
Carys steps behind Ariana and shouts:
"en faajier til enfoldig en faajier for din suujorvn"
May Pharasma grant safety to her followers.
A small burst of energy can be felt from right in front of Carys. Those looking in her direction seemed to see a slight glimmer for a fraction of a second before looking completely normal again.
Cast Shield +4 AC to me.
"Well, is there any other way to go but up? At this point our options seem to either go back and try and find another way out or up. If up is a harsh desert we might want to try and find a better exit than that." to Xazt "Now that you've found your bearings do you think you could guide us toward another exit?"
Carys finishes studying her books and puts them away with a sigh. "Although I have heard of wizards and other learned people able to human transmutation, I have not studied long enough to turn even a teapot into a tortoise which is infinitely less complicated than the structures to turn an already animate body into a different creature. How much rope do we have anyway?"
OK, as I'm studying/preparing spells I'm going to also write Magic Missile in my old book just in case. I'll also be searching for a reason in the book as to why it might be acting a bit strange. Do I need to roll something for that? Maybe a knowledge or intelligence check?
So, you may have noticed my casting is a bit different this combat. I wasn't happy with how things were sounding before, so I decided since I have a ton of languages, I should probably be casting in at least one of them. I chose celestial as the main language for my spells.
Rick and I have decided to also pretend that's how I've been casting the whole game. Sorry for the change, but it's my first time playing just a spell caster! Sorry this is so long, but thought I should probably explain the abrupt change!!
A bit confused by the turn of events, Carys takes a step forward, determined to protect her friends.
"A feather for the simple-minded, a feather for your bed"
Carys begins casting "sleep" (1 round action)
Still Active:Protective Ward +1 to AC(round 3)
Perception:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Carys steps behind her companions. She looks strait at the large orc and says:
"an ice sword for an ice soul"
Cast Ray of frost: touch attack 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11]
