Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

Here goes nothing 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

I don't know about arrows, but I can shoot a frost ray from a distance.

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

I thought we were leaving at sundown? We were going to rest during the day, and leave at night when it got cooler.

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

Ready to go!

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

"I don't really know anything about ogres, except the few bits and pieces from fairy tales and bedtime stories. I doubt those have any truth or bearing on our current situation though. As for the map, I know many cartographers mark shelters with a half circle like this. I've never seen one with a moon shape inside it though."

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

Knowledge dungeoneering 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

After studying, Cary takes some meat from the fire. Her frizzy hair seems to have deflated some during the night and she looks almost back to her what you all assume must be her "normal self."

"Do you need any help?" She asks the group around the fire a bit sheepishly. She clearly feels a bit uncomfortable since she was less than cordial the previous day.

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

Satisfied with his answer, Carys retreats to the corner to study her book. She tries to smile at Xazt's interesting taste for raw meet but only succeeds at a strained smirk.

She studies her book for the next hour and a half muttering in celestial and elvish parts of different spells.

Spoiler:
As she finishes studying, she'll try to quietly cast Endure Elements.

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

"Was . . . uh . . . was that there before?"

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

Carys accepts Eli's water and attempts a half-hearted smile. Upon reaching the rocks, she spread out her blanket and promptly falls asleep speaking to no one.

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

saves:
fort 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
fort1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
fort1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 Well, that sucks :(
fort1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
fort1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

After a few hours, Carys quietly asks, "Can I have a drink of water from someone?

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

Carys purses her lips and simply says "Fine."

She adjusts her bag and refuses to look anyone in the eye.

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

Thanks for rescuing dream me as well! I must have left my spell book at home.

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

yeah, my thought is just we walked all night and haven't slept for quite some time. So, I'm probably hot, sweaty and sleepy

I'm good to go farther, but we really need to find somewhere to sleep. I thought the plan was to sleep during the day?
Carys doesn't even attempt to hide her yawns, but she trudges after the group anyway.

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

With a huge sigh, Carys trudges onward. She attempts to hide yawns that keep escaping her mouth, but it is very plain that she is very tired.

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

Fort Saves:
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

The sun seems to have dampened her spirits some but she continues to trudge ahead silently. Her hair, however, seems to have taken quite the beating in the sun. As the heat of the day approaches, her hair appears bigger and bigger.

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

Perception 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
WIS 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20

Do we also need more fort saves? If so how many?

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

"So, will we be resting here, or should we continue onward?"

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

saves:
I want to use Resist for my saves (o level +1 on next save)
Fort1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
#2 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
#31d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12

Carys trudges along quietly behind the others. Clearly, she is not enjoying the heat and quietly enduring the bitter sun at the back of the group. She accepts Eli's food gratefully and attempts a drink from the cactus.

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

Carys takes a few drinks from the pond and then settles into the shade and flips through her spellbook aimlessly. As dusk is settling, she takes one last drink of water, packs her things, and looks ready to follow the group.

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

Carys checks over her meager belongings, making sure everything is there. She puts everything neatly back into her pack and swings it onto her back. "Shall we go then? Snyderholm is north?"

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

before this I had 1030 XP if that helps agree on the sleeping/traveling!

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

Carys uses prestidigitation to move water from the waterfall onto the lizard's back. Grateful for the more stable platform, she leans toward the lizard and says, "maange taak du." [spoiler=celestial] Thank you very much. [/celestial]

With a nod to Eli she grabs the rope and attempts to climb down the rope.
climb 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (18) + 0 = 18

If she falls of the rope, I would like to try and roll onto the ground in order to minimize damage acrobatics 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11

EDIT, uh, looking back, I'm not sure who has the rope, but it seems like Lucas probably took it with him. I guess then, I'll probably jump toward him and hope for the best!

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

ride check 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

A bit surprised, Carys cautiously grabs the book from the air. She seems to have forgotten that other people are around and have asked questions. One look at the text and her mind is made up. She slowly wades the rest of the way toward lizard, makes a half bow and cautiously attempts to climb on it's back.

I'd like to pick the place that would be the most comfortable for the lizard but also would give me access to the hole when it extends. Should I roll another knowledge nature, or would I already know because of my previous roll.

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

Linguistics 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18

so close!

Wisdom 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

I don't think the goblins have been very nice to this creature. The common tongue seems to be doing as well as any other language might though.

Is there something I can roll to try and know what the markings mean? Knowledge ??? 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

Taking a few steps forward into the water. "I don't think he's very fond of the goblins. Eli, can you find him another fish? He seems to have taken a liking to you. Do be careful of his mouth though, it's probably poisonous! I want to see if another fish will make those markings darker.

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

He doesn't want to hurt us. Eli, I think he may want the fish. I've never heard of one getting this big, but I believe this is a monitor lizard. He appears to be quite old!

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

Carys studies the creature carefully, trying to remember everything she's ever read about these kinds of animals.

knowledge nature 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28

SWEET! I know all the things!

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

Carys steps behind Ariana and shouts:

"en faajier til enfoldig en faajier for din suujorvn"

Celestial:
May Pharasma grant safety to her followers.

A small burst of energy can be felt from right in front of Carys. Those looking in her direction seemed to see a slight glimmer for a fraction of a second before looking completely normal again.

Cast Shield +4 AC to me.

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

initiative1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

WOO HOO!!

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

Carys becomes aware that something strange is going on. She stands and moves toward the water to investigate.

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

"Well, is there any other way to go but up? At this point our options seem to either go back and try and find another way out or up. If up is a harsh desert we might want to try and find a better exit than that." to Xazt "Now that you've found your bearings do you think you could guide us toward another exit?"

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

Carys finishes studying her books and puts them away with a sigh. "Although I have heard of wizards and other learned people able to human transmutation, I have not studied long enough to turn even a teapot into a tortoise which is infinitely less complicated than the structures to turn an already animate body into a different creature. How much rope do we have anyway?"

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

OK, as I'm studying/preparing spells I'm going to also write Magic Missile in my old book just in case. I'll also be searching for a reason in the book as to why it might be acting a bit strange. Do I need to roll something for that? Maybe a knowledge or intelligence check?

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

Carys awakens and pulls out her spell books. She moves a little away from her companions so she will not be distracted as she flips through her books.

Studying/preparing spells. Is my new book still twitchy?

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

Carys also joins her companions in some well needed sleep.

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

lol

"Should we continue on or try to get some more sleep?"

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

ok, I'm going to guess 50 feet down the path. The spell has a 10 foot radius.

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

Finish casting Sleep. I wan to attempt to cast it where the goblins have run to. Not sure if i should how I should roll for that or what.

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

So, you may have noticed my casting is a bit different this combat. I wasn't happy with how things were sounding before, so I decided since I have a ton of languages, I should probably be casting in at least one of them. I chose celestial as the main language for my spells.

Rick and I have decided to also pretend that's how I've been casting the whole game. Sorry for the change, but it's my first time playing just a spell caster! Sorry this is so long, but thought I should probably explain the abrupt change!!

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

It's a full round spell, so it won't activate till my next turn. I didn't notice that last time I used it ;)

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

So, there's nothing to resolve from my turn, so Next up: Eli

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

A bit confused by the turn of events, Carys takes a step forward, determined to protect her friends.
She begins quietly chanting
"en faajier til enfoldig en faajier for din suujorvn"

celestial:
"A feather for the simple-minded, a feather for your bed"

Carys begins casting "sleep" (1 round action)
Still Active:Protective Ward +1 to AC(round 3)

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

dude, I was sure that wouldn't hit! Awesome. Also, can we still do the next up thing. It's just another reminder to help things keep moving

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

Perception:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24

Carys steps behind her companions. She looks strait at the large orc and says:
"en iss sværed til en iss saajæl"

Celestial:
"an ice sword for an ice soul"

Cast Ray of frost: touch attack 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11]
1d3 ⇒ 2 cold damage
Still active: Protective ward:+1 to AC w/in 10 ft (round 2)

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

Wondering if Eli's torch move changes the shadows any? Also, Lucas, don't forget to move on the board!

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

read that around when we started, but have been meaning to reread since we started up again. Thanks for the reminder!

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

Carys moves toward the creature and shouts:
"May Pharasma grant his protection!"
A brief glimmer shoots 10 feet in each direction from Carys' position before fading.

Protective ward. People within 10ft of me get +1 AC bonus
