Shadow Lodge

So if I trip the mount as an AoO, the PCs action also ends. Interesting.

If I remember correctly Joe Caubo's character died in the first 15 minutes of the first encounter and they didn't complete a second encounter.
Eh, He died 15 minutes into the special. We then completed 5 or 6 encounters in Act 2. We easily handled the first encounter of Act 3, then fought a position game with the BBEG of Tier 14-15. I don't think Baird was ever going to let us catch it.
Ah, ok, so it wasn't "didn't complete a second encounter", but "didn't complete the third act" instead. That sounds less bad. Well at least I was correct about Caubo's character death! :-)

23 minutes.

It's always a good idea to run from the final encounter.

You should be punished by forcing yourself to drink this player's delicious tears.

Changed thread title from "players die" to "characters die".

*puts peeve away*

I preferred it the other way. Characters are too easy to kill. Players, on the other hand, often provide a moderate challenge.

I've never actually kept track. After a few dozen, it stops being appropriate.

meh, a "bonus" is highly subjective. We should start a separate thread to discuss that word.

Because (barring the use of GM stars) credit can only be gained for a given scenario once as a player, every play opportunity is precious. Forcing someone to change their character concept as the classes are developed and released will thus greatly discourage them from participating in the playtests, which will harm Paizo and the Adcanced Class Guide as a whole.
You know, if someone's goal really is to help with the playtesting, people can choose to do playtests without PFS credit. Those who want to play the new classes before they're released AND want to simultaneously get PFS credit for doing so are going to have to accept a certain level of risk.

Mmmm... hybrid tears...

I always insist my Sphinx's can cast legend lore as a swift action because it doesn't say they can't! Take that Findlander!

I'm disappointed. Like Kevin Sorbo disappointed. It took me 3 rounds in this year's Gen Con Special to kill Joe Caubo's character. To be fair, it was also only 28 minutes into the start of the scenario as well.

Shadow Lodge *****

I agree. This Special was terrible! It only caused Caubo's character to die once. Granted it was 3 rounds into the first encounter (28 minutes from the start of the event), but still, that's not good enough! MOAR DEATH! MOAR TEARS!

Shadow Lodge *****

Running all these different demons effectively at 14-15 is going to be... interesting.

These tears are delicious. I can't wait until Gen Con.

Shadow Lodge *****

Ran a table of 15's in Part 1 and 16's in Part 2 last year. I was ready. They were not. ;-)

Going to be interesting to see who shows up this year. Demons, especially those published in traditionally non-core sources can be very complicated to run and fight.
