*dusts self off*

Two options I approve of:

1) Characters get wealth based on their own subtier unless they fall between the subtiers in which case they receive wealth based on subtier played. Item and boon access would still be granted based on subtier played.

2) Characters receive wealth based on their level. Each chronicle would list 5 different fixed amounts of gold. Item and boon access would still be granted based on subtier played.

I think both of these options fix the "wealth" by level issues, but we would need improved high subtier item access or boons to provide a bit more incentive to play up when given the option.

This is... disturbing.

Spoiler:
EXPLOSIVE RUNES!

What did you think was going to be here?

A good GM will bring a container to the table sufficiently large enough to hold all of the tears produced at the table.

This becomes a moot point if you simply kill off the AC before they can become socially inappropriate.

As Mike said 1 resurrection and 2 raise dead's but also a UMD'd scroll of breath of life on the cleric and Mike's Living Monolith got a really great deal on his armor with determination on it. I think it triggered 5 times :). So there could have been 6 more deaths.

On a side note, if you ever sit at a table that Kyle is running, and you think he is trying help he isn't! He is that diobalical! Great table of players and Kyle's running was a great epic experience. Thanks everyone that played and Kyle for running it.

Would you like to use your reroll?

That 5 tables worth of pre-season-4. Just quintuple the monsters, too.

No need to add monsters. I'll do just fine with what's written and 20 players. >:)

I prefer to drink the tears in front of the surviving players. It sets the mood for the next encounter.

Must be nice living outside the confines of reality. You must be huffing the same stuff Baird does.

Except that I huffed enough "stuff" to actually transcend your puny reality and become something so much more...

Option K) I snap my fingers and the entire group of players implode leaving nothing but their Mt. Dew and Doritos behind.

Next group of players?

If this thread has taught me anything, you have to kill a lot of PCs to find some who like you. :-)

He's a filthy liar. Don't sit at my table. It is filled with nothing but tears and pain. Sometimes candy... :)

Stop trying to copy me. Those tears are mine!

Shadow Lodge *****

If I ever GM Nosig, the entire scenario is going to be one long chase scene and no one at the table will be allowed to take 10 on anything.

Charging PCs at higher levels make me chuckle.

I think if a character shows up at my table with a build he doesn't think I'll understand, he should be prepared for a beating. He's welcome to bring his weapon of choice.

Yes... try to play up. Please, send them to my table. Those season 0's and 1's are easy-peasy. :-)

More seriously though, I wish more GMs weren't be afraid to A) warn players wanting to play up that they won't hold back just because they're first level and B) actually take a shot or two at those 1st level characters when they try to hide behind the appropriately tiered characters. Keep in mind that you need usually need to do over 20 damage to completely kill a first level character.

I've had some pretty epic tables where the party spends significant time and resources keeping those 1st level characters conscious.

Don't fear, those 4 tables who survived were all 1st level. I try to make it a point not to kill n00bs. I prefer to let them get invested in their characters before crushing their hopes and dreams.

Chris, on the other hand, timed it perfectly. He waited for those characters to get to 3rd and 4th level. A perfect blend of "investment" and "can't afford a raise dead." Well done Mortakiller.
