Alarm creates a subtle ward on an area you select. Once the spell effect is in place, it thereafter sounds a mental or audible alarm each time a creature of Tiny or larger size enters the warded area or touches it. A creature that speaks the password (determined by you at the time of casting) does not set off the alarm. You decide at the time of casting whether the alarm will be mental or audible in nature.

"He was, but it was for a really good reason. And I made him a new one, so it's okay." ^.^ Ryo looks away, his face blank. "I was correcting a mistake, nothing more. I will tell you what happened when you aren't in my care anymore. Now why don't you two go fix the chair you broke tackling me? There is someone nearby that is a bit too.. unusual, even for you. Get back in the wards where your sanity will be ensured!" For a moment they seem like they are going to argue, but then they see he is serious, and begin to move carefully back toward the house, looking around for this mystery person. "And you know what will happen if I come back and find out I own a green house that doubles as a reptile farm!" The tone of his voice makes his threat sound like a jest, but your not to sure...
"Oh, don't be silly, Ryo," she said, loading her things into the skimmer's cargo hold. "It's completely standard. Well, minus the stalling out randomly and crashing. I never found that particular design flaw very charming, so I fixed it." "I'm really glad you are a fantastic mechanic. I don't want to be bedridden in a temple so soon after getting out. I'm ready." He gets on the skimmer and starts it up, listening to the smooth sound the engine makes, and notes that it is quiter than other skimmers he has heard by far.
"Time for the head count. Kannic, Aananda, Tamrin, Jiminy, Ruji.. yeah we're all here." After giving Ruji the cord needed to pull Jiminy's carriage along, Ryo looks at the skimmer. "Aananda, is this like a regular skimmer or did you make some 'upgrades' I should know about? If so, it may be easier for me to take one of the hovercycles."
After Tamrin and Aananda leave, Ryo makes the mistake of thinking of his charges again, and the possible condition of his home. Shuddering at the thought, he reachs into his bag and retrieves his copy of The Guardians of Agartha. He stares at the cover for a moment, wondering why there is a spike going of the Traveler's star piece. The book is thicker too, almost like there are more chapters than before... Something brushes against his mind and he forgets about the book, groaning inwardly as he hopes Adsila and Ormarr didn't get into his room again.
"I've had to travel fast before, because clients needed me quickly but were too far away to run. Besides, if all else fails, I see if I can hook up my arm to the skimmer."
"What other food can I have? Is ice cream OK for breakfast? I like ice cream. And pastries? The kind with jelly in them? Come on, Mommy, I need the info!" "Is she answered now she might choke on the food, and it's impolite to talk with a mouth full of food. Ice cream is a no, but the occasional jelly-filled pastry is okay."
"Did you know there's a place with lights in the ceiling and these dragon type people?" "Lights in the ceiling? I've seen something like that before, though I can't remember where..." "Hey, what does a baby have to do to get some food around here?" "Here, have a strip of cave flier until you know what you want to eat. No sweets though."
Ruji curls up on Aananda's shoulder as Ryo eyes narrow. "That's the second time he has stopped before saying his last name. But why?" he thinks to himself. "Jiminy Su.." His eyes widen and begin to cloud as he looks over at Jiminy "No. No, that can't be right.. can it?" "Hello again, little one. How are you today?"
Ryo reaches into his cloak and pulls out a small packet. He places it on the table and explains what is inside. "I sent Ruji out to collect an herb for me last night, since he can see better than I can in the dark, thinking it would be needed. Jiminy said you switched the mugs and drank the sedative you meant for him, so you ending up drugging yourself. More 'family' to worry about I suppose." "Anyway, mix it into your drink and you should be feeling better in an hour."
She sighed. "Mr. Thorg doesn't have any more work for me. But if I don't have a job, how am I ever going to pay Kannic back?" A soft purr fills Aananda's ears as everyone's faveortie winged kitten lands on her shoulder. A moment later, Ryo pulls up a chair and joins them, ordering a cup of strong blue moss tea and five cave flier strips. "What exactly did Mr. Thorg say, Aananda? There's a difference between no work and nothing to do." He holds up his right arm, moving the sleeve slightly to show the metal underneth. "Besides, even if you really do no longer work for Mr. Thorg, I think you have you have enough skill to start your own business. Though you may want to head to another city, out of respect for Mr. Thorg." "As for Kannic, find a good remedy for hangovers and he may consider himself in your debt. What do you think Tam?"
Kannic comes out of the kitchen with a tray of coffee mugs and sets them down in front of each of them. He sits down, looking at Jiminy, and takes a sip from his own mug. He promptly falls over and begins snoring. "Lightweight." "You'll want to stay out of my mind little one. I have seen Beginnings and Endings, and the last person to enter my mind came out screaming in fear, joy, pleasure, and pain. When did you switch the mugs on Kannic?"
A lot of thoughts were running through Ryo's mind, and one of the old legends came up repeatedly. He smiles, knowing what he would be doing later. Now all he had to do was rent a mage lab... "Jiminy, listen to your Mom, or deal with your Uncle. We've dealt with unruly family before, and it would upset Ruji if we had to put you in time-out. Now, are you going to play nice with others so they can be nice-of their own free will-to you?"
"Well, Tamrin had to explain a joke to Aananda, who then ran off. Tamrin went after her, and when they returned, they had Jiminy here with them." "Jiminy, this is Kannic."
"Hm, sounds like a good idea. What do you think Ruji?" Wings curl upwards, and an image of Jiminy in a hover-carriage being pulled around by Ruji(via a cord connected to the carriage). Then the image changes to show Ruji's demon cat illusion standing over the little one protectively. Ruji then walks over and curls up next to Jiminy. "You're going to keep him safe aren't you?" "Jiminy? Don't pet him with sticky fingers, okay? And no pulling on his wings, he seems to like you, but he won't hesitate to scratch you if you hurt him."
"Tamrin Sunwake, what new excitment have you brought upon us now? And more importantly, how will care for him when we start traveling? I vote for those who found him." Ryo laughs and orders the 'child' a piece of cake. "I do not need to look in a pool to see the future, and Tam here doesn't need one to see other worlds, right Tam?" "You like my cards, Jiminy? They usually make people uneasy."
"Hm? Oh, the Gemeni. Representing two sides to one coin, two personalities, even two bodies in extreme cases of magic gone array. I'm assuming it refers to Aananda, since she can be calm one minute, and running around like a lizard the next." "Bad taste? Maybe, but the joke was not aimed at Aananda. I believe her to be more sensible than that. And I am not sure if humans are diferent were you are from. Were did you find the little one anyway?"
Ryo is sitting at the same table, staring at the cards he has placed on it. He looks up when they get close. "You know, when it took you awhile to come back, I checked the cards to see if anything was wrong. Imagine my surprise when The Child showed up between The Traveler and The.." He catches sight of the strange baby with them. He blinks, then smiles.
