The humble alarm spell - such a wonderful thing to have active on one's person...

Going to suck in a city...

The PRD wrote:
Alarm creates a subtle ward on an area you select. Once the spell effect is in place, it thereafter sounds a mental or audible alarm each time a creature of Tiny or larger size enters the warded area or touches it. A creature that speaks the password (determined by you at the time of casting) does not set off the alarm. You decide at the time of casting whether the alarm will be mental or audible in nature.

Now I don't feel bad about 'forgetting' to tell Tamrin about the pickpocket...

I am choosing not to think about the carnage a polymorphed amethyst dragon could do to a human sized toilet.

Oh get some coffee and wake up already.

*looks at watch*

Aananda sure has been the restroom a long time. I wonder what could have happened...

Jiminy Sunwake wrote:
*sniff* What a perfectly sane and normal world that would be.

Fixed.

They better not go pickin' on Mommy. Jiminy will get VERY angry. Monk stew anyone?

*pops knuckles at the thought of foolish monks* Let the adults handle it Jiminy, we don't want the monks to get too embarassed... note that I didn't say hurt.

Morning! *mumble*I want to go back to sleep*mumble*

Anyway, I hope at least one monk tries to say something bad about Aananda, because I've got a youtube video showing just what will happen to said monk...

And yes, I have read those books, on your recommendation in fact. And yeah, respect the plant magic for it just might kill you. ;)

It's deadly side is shown nicely in Street Magic, don't you think? ;) And Rosethorn is scary... Even in [i]Melting Stones.[/ooc]

LOL. You two are working SO hard on tuning Jiminy out.
Gee, I wonder why. :P

I blame hearing problems caused by loud machines and kicks to the head.

But you didn't catch what Ormarr said, did you? How closely related would you say snakes are to dragons? ;)

I like Ormarr. He has the potential to be deadly, and can see the same way snakes do, though he prefers to let the serpents see for him.

The danger of Adsila may only be known to those who have read The Circle of Magic series, The Circle Opens series, and The Will of the Empress by Tamora Peirce...

"He's.. cute! When did Ryo meet you? Ooh, here!"
She places her hand over a spot on her dress again, then pulls it away and gives Jiminy a flower to match his eyes. "It will last a few days. Just don't eat it, okay Jimmy? Hey Ryo, when is lunch? Are you staying for awhile?"

Ormarr
Ormarr glances at Ryo, smirking. "Uncle Ryo? Just what have you gotten yourself into? Especially with a child such as this one.."

Aananda wrote:
"He was, but it was for a really good reason. And I made him a new one, so it's okay." ^.^

Ryo looks away, his face blank.

"I was correcting a mistake, nothing more. I will tell you what happened when you aren't in my care anymore. Now why don't you two go fix the chair you broke tackling me? There is someone nearby that is a bit too.. unusual, even for you. Get back in the wards where your sanity will be ensured!"

For a moment they seem like they are going to argue, but then they see he is serious, and begin to move carefully back toward the house, looking around for this mystery person.

"And you know what will happen if I come back and find out I own a green house that doubles as a reptile farm!" The tone of his voice makes his threat sound like a jest, but your not to sure...

Don't worry Jiminy, they won't get to the wards before you can make an appearance! ;D

I'm not describing the house again, so don't ask! ;)

Aananda wrote:
"Oh, don't be silly, Ryo," she said, loading her things into the skimmer's cargo hold. "It's completely standard. Well, minus the stalling out randomly and crashing. I never found that particular design flaw very charming, so I fixed it."

"I'm really glad you are a fantastic mechanic. I don't want to be bedridden in a temple so soon after getting out. I'm ready."

He gets on the skimmer and starts it up, listening to the smooth sound the engine makes, and notes that it is quiter than other skimmers he has heard by far.

Nope - working on a last-minute RL game issue. 'Tis more time consuming than I expected...

Would you like any help? Agartha's OOC hasn't been used in a while.

"Time for the head count. Kannic, Aananda, Tamrin, Jiminy, Ruji.. yeah we're all here."

After giving Ruji the cord needed to pull Jiminy's carriage along, Ryo looks at the skimmer.

"Aananda, is this like a regular skimmer or did you make some 'upgrades' I should know about? If so, it may be easier for me to take one of the hovercycles."

After Tamrin and Aananda leave, Ryo makes the mistake of thinking of his charges again, and the possible condition of his home. Shuddering at the thought, he reachs into his bag and retrieves his copy of The Guardians of Agartha. He stares at the cover for a moment, wondering why there is a spike going of the Traveler's star piece. The book is thicker too, almost like there are more chapters than before...

Something brushes against his mind and he forgets about the book, groaning inwardly as he hopes Adsila and Ormarr didn't get into his room again.

Tamrin Sunwake wrote:
"No problem," he replies with a smile as he puts down the difference, plus a few more for the shopkeeper's patience and emotional trauma.

Fixed it for you! ;)

Tamrin Sunwake wrote:
"Don't worry - it's best if you just don't move until she's done," Tam reassures the shopkeeper as Aananda goes around like a whirlwind cleaning up the bins from her shopping frenzy. ;P

Remind me to keep her away from Mechanics-R-Us... or at least not go with her.

"Do us all a favor and try not to bring anymore kids back with you, okay?"

Aananda wrote:

"Okay. Ummm....you can drive the skimmer? Kannic can't. Tam and I have hoverbikes, but we can tow one of them if you need one of us to drive."

Stranger than demon baby? ;)

NO! I tried talking like Jiminy when playing a 12 year old in my friend's game, but I couldn't. Posts might be easier, but I don't think I'll try.

"I've had to travel fast before, because clients needed me quickly but were too far away to run. Besides, if all else fails, I see if I can hook up my arm to the skimmer."

"Well, if you're ready we can sart heading south. My home city is just a two day walk in that direction, so I'll take a ten minute detour by skimmer on the way. I need to check up on my charges and make sure Jake didn't let them wreck the house again."

My backup characters are.. strange. Only two right now, but I have plans to catch one more as he tries to pick Tam's pocket.

"I swear I had more cave flier strips than this," says Ryo, looking at the single strip he has left. He eats it quickly before it dissappears as well.

Jiminy Sunwake wrote:
"What other food can I have? Is ice cream OK for breakfast? I like ice cream. And pastries? The kind with jelly in them? Come on, Mommy, I need the info!"

"Is she answered now she might choke on the food, and it's impolite to talk with a mouth full of food. Ice cream is a no, but the occasional jelly-filled pastry is okay."

Aananda wrote:
"Ummmm....that's everything to get me caught up to where we are in the conversation, right?"

Looky, an OOC sentence hidden in-character! :)

Jiminy Sunwake wrote:
"Did you know there's a place with lights in the ceiling and these dragon type people?"

"Lights in the ceiling? I've seen something like that before, though I can't remember where..."

Jiminy Sunwake wrote:
"Hey, what does a baby have to do to get some food around here?"

"Here, have a strip of cave flier until you know what you want to eat. No sweets though."

Jiminy Sunwake wrote:

The creepy little voice behind him causes Kannic to jump

"Of course not. Things always act differently around me."

"Hi, I'm Jiminy, Jiminy Su... Never mind. Did you know that the vines from the bola tree in the southern jungles is actually used to make bolas? And its bark can be boiled into a paste that will paralyze a person? I don't know where all this poison knowledge comes from, but it's kinda interesting. Do you know much about poisons, Unlce Kannic? Aside from personal experience, I mean. I don't know why people bother with such things. Ooh, coffee....."

Ruji curls up on Aananda's shoulder as Ryo eyes narrow. "That's the second time he has stopped before saying his last name. But why?" he thinks to himself. "Jiminy Su.." His eyes widen and begin to cloud as he looks over at Jiminy "No. No, that can't be right.. can it?"

"Hello again, little one. How are you today?"

Ryo reaches into his cloak and pulls out a small packet. He places it on the table and explains what is inside.

"I sent Ruji out to collect an herb for me last night, since he can see better than I can in the dark, thinking it would be needed. Jiminy said you switched the mugs and drank the sedative you meant for him, so you ending up drugging yourself. More 'family' to worry about I suppose."

"Anyway, mix it into your drink and you should be feeling better in an hour."

Aananda wrote:
She sighed. "Mr. Thorg doesn't have any more work for me. But if I don't have a job, how am I ever going to pay Kannic back?"

A soft purr fills Aananda's ears as everyone's faveortie winged kitten lands on her shoulder. A moment later, Ryo pulls up a chair and joins them, ordering a cup of strong blue moss tea and five cave flier strips.

"What exactly did Mr. Thorg say, Aananda? There's a difference between no work and nothing to do."

He holds up his right arm, moving the sleeve slightly to show the metal underneth.

"Besides, even if you really do no longer work for Mr. Thorg, I think you have you have enough skill to start your own business. Though you may want to head to another city, out of respect for Mr. Thorg."

"As for Kannic, find a good remedy for hangovers and he may consider himself in your debt. What do you think Tam?"

Darn these prophetic dreams, always telling wha't going to happen... Like Chan putting Jiminy on the chopping block.

Uncle Ryo is worried a little, but not much. You know, I had the suspicion he hadn't been loved around the time he started talking about the lady whose cat he had eaten. And the results.

Aananda wrote:
Aananda looks at Tam. "I think I'm starting to get an inkling as to why the masters always had such an exasperated look when I was a child," she said sheepishly.

Just wait until he follows us to the temple! They'll think you were a blessing! Or an omen... :)

Oh Gods, you were serious.... O.O

The shield spell just got a new set of 'missiles' to stop... ;)

"Tamrin took Aananda to her room when she fainted, and Jiminy vanished when I looked back to him."

"As for the drink, you believed it would work, he believed you would drink it without knowing. Immunity had nothing to do with it. I have to say though, whatever you added to the coffee works fast."

"Belief is a very strong thing Kannic, and we meet someone with a force of will as strong as his belief."

Ryo calmly sips his coffee again.

"You also seem to be a lightwieght when it comes to drugged coffee."

Complexity is overrated, and often leads to trouble."

He takes a sip of coffee and looks at his sleeping companions.

"Well, we are going on a trip, so I guess they need rest."

Kannic Orefinder wrote:
Kannic comes out of the kitchen with a tray of coffee mugs and sets them down in front of each of them. He sits down, looking at Jiminy, and takes a sip from his own mug. He promptly falls over and begins snoring.

"Lightweight."

"You'll want to stay out of my mind little one. I have seen Beginnings and Endings, and the last person to enter my mind came out screaming in fear, joy, pleasure, and pain. When did you switch the mugs on Kannic?"

Attention Agarthians(and Tamrin)! The first all-powerful alias has been created! And then along came Jiminy...

A lot of thoughts were running through Ryo's mind, and one of the old legends came up repeatedly. He smiles, knowing what he would be doing later. Now all he had to do was rent a mage lab...

"Jiminy, listen to your Mom, or deal with your Uncle. We've dealt with unruly family before, and it would upset Ruji if we had to put you in time-out. Now, are you going to play nice with others so they can be nice-of their own free will-to you?"

"This trip south is going to be really interesting, especially when we reach our destination..."

"So when will Sunwake Jr. be getting his skimmer-carriage? I think having it float only a few feet off the ground is a good idea. And a safe one."

"Uncle Ryo, huh? I like the sound of that."

Kannic Orefinder wrote:

Kannic strolls into the Juggling Dwarf as if he didn't have a care in the world. He's using his his multi-purpose rod as a walking stick. The inn owner blanches when he sees him. Kannic smiles, and sits down, eyeballing the new addition curiously.

The waitress hurries over and brings him a tankard, without waiting for an order. She waits for him to order anything.

"Nothing else for right now, my dear." She hurries off.

He turns to the group, "Well, someone's been busier than me. Who's this young lad?"

"Well, Tamrin had to explain a joke to Aananda, who then ran off. Tamrin went after her, and when they returned, they had Jiminy here with them."

"Jiminy, this is Kannic."

"Hm, sounds like a good idea. What do you think Ruji?"

Wings curl upwards, and an image of Jiminy in a hover-carriage being pulled around by Ruji(via a cord connected to the carriage). Then the image changes to show Ruji's demon cat illusion standing over the little one protectively. Ruji then walks over and curls up next to Jiminy.

"You're going to keep him safe aren't you?"

"Jiminy? Don't pet him with sticky fingers, okay? And no pulling on his wings, he seems to like you, but he won't hesitate to scratch you if you hurt him."

"Tamrin Sunwake, what new excitment have you brought upon us now? And more importantly, how will care for him when we start traveling? I vote for those who found him." Ryo laughs and orders the 'child' a piece of cake.

"I do not need to look in a pool to see the future, and Tam here doesn't need one to see other worlds, right Tam?"

"You like my cards, Jiminy? They usually make people uneasy."

"Hm? Oh, the Gemeni. Representing two sides to one coin, two personalities, even two bodies in extreme cases of magic gone array. I'm assuming it refers to Aananda, since she can be calm one minute, and running around like a lizard the next."

"Bad taste? Maybe, but the joke was not aimed at Aananda. I believe her to be more sensible than that. And I am not sure if humans are diferent were you are from. Were did you find the little one anyway?"

Two people left after a topic related to reproduction came up, then came back with a baby. What did you expect? ;p

Ready... Aim...

Ryo is sitting at the same table, staring at the cards he has placed on it. He looks up when they get close.

"You know, when it took you awhile to come back, I checked the cards to see if anything was wrong. Imagine my surprise when The Child showed up between The Traveler and The.." He catches sight of the strange baby with them. He blinks, then smiles.

FIRE!!!
"Doesn't it normally take nine months for a human baby to be born? Just how long have I been sitting here alone?"

Wish I could enjoy the snow instead of being stuck in school... Otherwise, HAPPY MONDAY!!!

Hey! For all you know coffee might be soothing to the hyperactive dragon girl. ;)

For some reason, I doubt it. Cheapest potion of haste ever!

You may be the gunslinger, but I'm taking aim and getting ready to fire some recently acquired 'ammo.' Hehehe...
