Hi all, it's been quite a while since I posted anything about my campaign website template, and I just wanted to make sure that anyone who might find it useful knows about it.

It's a template for Google Sites, which provides free hosting and a very user-friendly interface. The template already has pages for player characters set up, along with sections like Announcements, Party Loot Log, Dice Roller, Journals, Online RP, Library (for handouts, maps, etc), as well as links to the srd and Paizo forums.

The template complies with all of Paizo's Community Use Guidelines and is a registered project (http://paizo.com/communityuse/registry)

Please let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions, as I'm always looking to update the template and keep it relevant.

The template can be found at http://sites.google.com/site/pathfindertemplate/

Hey all, it's been a good while since I posted the info about the website template I put together.

It's for the free and user-friendly Google Sites. I use it for all of my own games and quite a few people have used it for their play-by-post or home games and found it helpful.

Many people have given great feedback and I really appreciate the help in making the template better. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions please don't hesitate to let me know!

The template can be seen at: https://sites.google.com/site/pathfindertemplate/

Hey all, I did a search but didn't see this mentioned anywhere. First, I don't have any affiliation with the following website... I just came across it online and thought it would be useful.

It's a free, online tool that allows you to post a map and move tokens around on it for play-by-post games. You can post the map in forums and even move the tokens around on the embedded map. Show area-of-effect spells and more.

I've just played around with it a little but it really seems like it could be a very useful tool.

Here is the Raging Leaper rage power:

Raging Leaper (Ex): When raging, the barbarian adds
her level as an enhancement bonus on all Acrobatics skill
checks made to jump. When making a jump in this way, the
barbarian is always considered to have a running start.

If taken, does the barbarian add his level to Acrobatics checks to move through threatened squares without provoking?

many thanks in advance!

I've posted about this a couple of times before, but not in a while. So I figured I'd let everyone in the play-by-post forums know about the template if they don't already.

I've been using Google Site Builder for some time now, mainly to make sites for my various play-by-post and home campaigns.

I've made my site template available for any of you who would like to give it a go. Google has done a great job of making a powerful yet simple website building tool; and better yet, it's free!

You can check it out here

If you have a Google ID and you are logged in, you should be able to click a button at the top right of that page to create your own site from the template. If you don't already have a Google ID (ie, Gmail account) it's quick and free to sign up at https://www.google.com/accounts/NewAccount. Whether you have an ID or not, you can look through the template to see what you think.

The template works equally well for play-by-post or live campaigns, and I hope you'll find that it contains some useful features no matter how you play the game.

The template conforms to Paizo's Community Use policies and is a registered project

I update the template often as good suggestions are made. most recently, I added a search box at the top right that you can use to search either your Google site or the Paizo messageboards.

I'd love to hear what you think of the template, so please just post any comments or suggestions here. Thanks so much in advance!

Again, the link to the template is:

Say I successfully use Intimidate to demoralize an opponent, and beat the DC by 5. Per the Intimidate skill, the opponent is shaken for two rounds.

Under the Fear section in the SRD, it says..

Becoming Even More Fearful: Fear effects are cumulative. A shaken character who is made shaken again becomes frightened, and a shaken character who is made frightened becomes panicked instead. A frightened character who is made shaken or frightened becomes panicked instead.

So, if in the next round I successfully Intimidate the opponent again, would he become Frightened?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I have a campaign website template for Google Sites at https://sites.google.com/site/pathfindertemplate/

I've taken great care to abide by all of the Community Use policies, and have been very pleased at the leeway provided by such for fans to generate content.

Now, from a design perspective, the white background of the approved Community Use Pathfinder logo has been driving me nuts. The policy states:

You may use the contents of the Community Use Package at paizo.com/communityuse/package. You may use only those versions of the Paizo Materials from the Community Use Package. You may not alter the color, typography, design, or proportions of the logos or icons, or otherwise modify them.

So, my question...does converting the logo to a .gif or .png file with transparent background comply with the policy?

thanks in advance!

Hey all, I had a thread a good while back with various Pathfinder computer icons I had created. It got archived, but I've created a few new ones so I figured I would start it again in case anyone finds it interesting. They all adhere to the Community Use guidelines and have statements to that effect in each ZIP file. If there are any that you'd like me to make just post here and let me know. Thanks!

Iconic Characters

Core Book Covers

Holy Symbols

Miscellaneous (not to be missed: Eric Mona icon)

Sin Runes

Hey all, if you're like me you have a ton of game files, images, pdfs, etc on your computer. Here are a bunch of icons I've made to make all those folders look a little nicer and be recognizable at a glance. You can download the zip file of them all from [link removed]

All icons created with the help of ConvertIcon...go make some of your own and post them up!

Would love to hear what you think!

This mini looks perfect for a character I'm playing but I was hoping someone might have a picture of this one painted that they had done or even just a picture of the back and/or sides of the mini. I've looked all over and the picture above is the only one I can find of this guy. Thanks in advance!

This is absolutely hilarious.. make sure to read the comments afterwards. NSFW language.

3d printers are approaching the realm of consumer-level in the next few years (http://www.popsci.com/technology/article/2010-04/hp-prints-three-dimension s-release-designjet-3d)

Wouldn't it be awesome if some forward-thinking company made a machine that could be put in gaming stores with a built-in library of miniatures that could be printed on-demand? And tech-savvy gamers could bring their own 3d files to print out their own (and even add to the library and earn commissions maybe..)

Paizo, jump on this!! :)

Hey all, I've been using Google Site Builder for some time now, particularly to make a site for my various campaigns. It's evolved into a very useful website and I've made it available as a template on Google Site Builder.

You can check it out RIGHT HERE

If at any point you go to the Site Builder page and are searching through templates, this is the only one that comes up when you search for RPG, Pathfinder, D&D, Roleplaying, Campaign, and more. So there doesn't seem to be much else out there in the way of ready-to-go templates.

The page works equally well for play-by-post or face-to-face campaigns, and I hope you'll agree that it contains some useful features.

If you have any thoughts I'd love to hear them; just post them here. Thanks!

Note: all the content complies with the Community Use Policy and the project is listed on the Registry

I posted this originally on the Play By Post Discussion board and got some good feedback but I think this is a good place for it as well. I'm sure if it's not one of the forum gods will smite me :)

Hey all, I got to messing around today with different ideas and options for representing dungeon maps in play by post campaigns. I ended up finding MapLib.net. It's a free website that uses Google Maps' API to allow you to add some Google Map functionality to any image you want to.

I grabbed Droskar's Crucible out of Hollow's Last Hope to load onto the website. The only editing necessary on the map file was to scale the image up until the squares were 50 pixels on each side (the maximum size of custom map markers at MapLib). I did this in Photoshop by increasing the image size by 5% at a time until it was correct.

After some playing around, I think this might be pretty cool. The creator of a map has total control, and can invite specific people to the map or let anyone view and/or modify it. In any case, people other than the creator can only modify the markers they place on the map.

Any 50x50 image or smaller can be uploaded by a user as a custom marker, so you basically can create your individual mini. And the DM can represent any monster by cropping an image of its head to a square, resizing, and uploading.

Additionally, you can add custom lines or polygons to the map to represent areas of effect, cones, etc. Every user-placed element has an attached note that pops up on click where you can add details about the unit. I've added a Grease spell on the map to show that.

If you want to play around with the map I made you'll have to register for a free account at http://www.maplib.net/register.php

Once you're logged in you can then upload custom markers on the left side of the page at http://www.maplib.net/panel

And finally, point your browser to the map itself and play around.

http://www.maplib.net/map.php?id=7127&lat=-53.21261218994156&lng=35 .94451904296875&z=9

You won't be able to change anything that's already there but you can place as many markers, shapes, etc on there to see if you like it. And when you do, let me know if it was helpful or if you come across any features that are cool I might have missed.

I hope this was halfway comprehensible but if not, please let me know and I'll try to clarify.

A little disclaimer: I have no connection to MapLib whatsoever. I just found their page today browsing around and it seems like it might be great for what I needed. Figured I'd share with people who might get the same benefit.

Hi there, I'm making a Cleric of Gozreh and was wondering if I might get some input on which Domains to take.. options are:

Air
Animal
Plant
Water
Weather

The campaign will be in a coastal city and I'm the party's main healer. I don't know many other details.

Thanks in advance!

Hi there, here is the text from the PRD re: Storm Burst (the 1st lvl granted power for the Weather Domain)

Storm Burst (Sp): As a standard action, you can create a storm burst targeting any foe within 30 feet as a ranged touch attack. The storm burst deals 1d6 points of nonlethal damage + 1 point for every two cleric levels you possess. In addition, the target is buffeted by winds and rain, causing it to take a –2 penalty on attack rolls for 1 round. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Wisdom modifier.

My question is what type of damage is the Storm Burst? Electricity?

Thanks!

The guys at Carnegie Melon have come out with a new video of their implementation of the Microsoft Surface table for gaming.

Was Stumbling around the intertubes and came across the unique and amazing artwork of Alex CF. I think this is the type of community that will appreciate how cool this stuff is.

http://alexcf.com/blog/?page_id=6

About him from his website..

Who are you and What is it that you do?

Hello, my name is Alex, i am a professional “cryptozoological scientific assemblage artist” and illustrator, i made up this term to describe what i make – i create items and objects from a past that wasn’t; to fashion the things i wish existed in forgotten attics or secret rooms, dust covered relics of a time when the world was the same -but not quite, when creatures that defy our senses stalked the crevices of forgotten continents, an age of wonder and intrigue, of fear and trepidation. I mix Darwinian biology with Eldritch horror, ancient artifact and sci fi pulp; what you see here is the tip of a rather large iceberg, and over time i will reveal a plethora of oddities for you to enjoy, or buy.

I've got no connection to the artist aside from being a fan, and I hope you all enjoy as much as I did!

Is there a corrected version of the Rulebook PDF available yet? I'm referring specifically to the screwed up bookmarks in the initial release. Thanks!
