[Pathfinder Paper Minis] Pathfinder Paper Minis—Skull & Shackles Adventure Path Part 2: "Raiders of the Fever Sea" PDF
This is great guys. Just got the second part of the adventure path and figured I'd check the paper minis to see if they are up, and there it is! Fantastic! I picked this pack of paper miniatures up last week not really sure if I was actually going to be needing any Orcs for a homebrew that I was running on Friday evening. Turns out I ended up not including any dungeon-dwelling Orcs but after looking through the PC-oriented Orcs I immediately changed three NPC characters into Orcs! They went from being three probably non-descript NPCs to suddenly being the "Green Guys" in the corner of the bar. The paper minis worked out perfectly. Also loved the various tribes of Orcs - plains, mountain, etc. This led me to introduce plains and woodland Goblins into the brand new campaign setting. Can't wait for my players to run into their first horde of Orcs! Anguish wrote:
Actually, it was this crazy idea called a vacation that Erik took. Yeah, I know. Weird. He actually had his girlfriend fly down to Vegas and spend a long weekend with him having fun. Can't understand that. And to not check in constantly on his work email while on this thing called a vacation? Insanity. I know when I do his review in a few weeks, we will have to talk about priorities. Priorities, priorities, priorities. Sigh. I just hope that we have a chance to do his review before I go on... +2 Well, for maps, I use flip mats for quick maps. $13 is a good investment for the mats they sell. Get a basic mat blank on both sides and that should handle most anything, except for really big battles. Now, if that's too much for you, consider gaming paper. It's $4 a roll, and one roll will be all you need if you combine it with a piece of glass or plexi-glass to cover it. We used something similar for years and it worked quite well. At a con this weekend one of the GM's I played under used bottle caps for minis. At first I was like WTH, but after a while, it wasn't too bad. As long as we knew who was what, it worked. I'll admit I have hundreds of dollars worth of miniatures, but the key is I've only spend $10 here, $20 there, buying online and cheap when I bought pre-painted minis. If you'd like PPMs, toss your pocket change in a jar for a year or two, you'll be amazed at how much you can save that way. A dollar here, a five there, doesn't seem like much at the time, but after a few months, it can be quite a bit. That's how we afforded our con trip last weekend. Dollar stores are also great places to find unexpected treasures. Dinosaurs, animals, insects. I've got a bunch that i've gotten from dime stores/dollar stores and no one cares that they aren't on bases. ;) If you've got access to a printer, paper minis are quite inexpensive as well. the ones that Paizo has put out for the APs when printed on cardstock, come out quite well. One of my dms has started using them for all his games, and it didn't cost him very much to put them together. Heck, print out some pictures of monsters, cut them out, and paste them to a bottle cap. :) Mairkurion {tm} wrote: Deserve to annoyed? Is this another Australian word with a different meaning like "be complimented for being the greatest contributor to civilization?" ;-) This from the people who left the empire, fought an unnecessary war with the english, changed the spelling of words, stopped playing cricket and turned up late to two world wars :-) and supplanted them as the most powerful nation in the world. We pale in comparison at your ability to annoy the English. :-) You are the master and we are but the students. ;-) The easiest way to get a list is probably to look at the Pathfinder Paper Minis products, which contain all of the minis you need to run a given adventure. The Product page shows a list of all the minis that are included in a set.

You know what? I went back and reviewed your emails to me. I don't have time for this nonsense. I think we are done here. Gailbraithe wrote: You're a f++%ing piece of s+%%, Gary. Cool. Congratulations! Rolfcopter wrote: Am I the only one not excited? I can't justify buying this because if I need 6 kobalds for combat (kingmaker) I'd have to buy 6 boxes... This is stupid. Have you tried the Pathfinder Paper Minis Kingmaker sets? I created a tutorial on how to make your own do-it-yourself Beginner Box style pawns. Here's an image of the finished product. The two pawns in the middle are from the Beginner Box; the others are ones I made myself using Paizo images. If you wanted to spend the time you could create a couple of hundred for all the monsters and NPCs you might encounter. I think this technique has a lot of promise. Only thing is you have to know a little about image editing (I use Gimp, but Photoshop will do) to pull this off. First of all let me thank you for this set! I used them in our Carrion Crown game for a "random" encounter. Okay I really wanted to have some orcs appear in this campaign. Then was your set released and I was so grateful! I let a player role the two dice from the random encounter table from Trial of the Beast then we built the 13 minis together. I had a long list of my favorite minis from the set, so finding 13 was not that hard! The orcs attacked in the blood red light of the dying sun from the west, they came from the Hold of Belkzen. BTW The banners are great! Of course I had to use them!! Gururamalamaswami wrote: Has anyone used the pawns from the Beginner Box in conjunction with any of the Pathfinder Paper Minis? How do they look together? Anyone got pictures they can post of them side by side? Other than the difference in what they are made out of, the biggest difference is that one set is official Paizo art, while the Paper minis are the artist's stylized version of the art. In size, they compare very well, and are relatively interchangable. Ive bought a few of the Paper Minis sets and have been completely satisfied by them. Even if you buy the ones that are for a specific AP, you get a wide variety of stuff. It's a really cheap (assuming you can print them cheaply; I personally take it to Staples) way to build up a minis collection. For PFS, lately Ive been using a combination of my RotRL Paper Minis, the Beginner Box pawns, and my old DnD minis.

They already have that with the Pathfinder Paper Minis line...all of ROTR, most of Kingmaker, and a good start at SS and LOF... Callous Jack wrote:
Why yes I did. Hurry up and put out the set for Book 6! I expect we'll have got back to somewhere in the vicinity of the actual AP plot by then and might have some use for them (we are in 'Book 5' at the moment, but no-where near the Cinderlands or Scarwall). An all-in-one box for the Adventure Path like the Items cards are. Might I introduce you to Pathfinder Paper Minis? Erik Mona wrote:
I also thought he was a boob and an ass, I rarely agreed with him and even when I did he said it in such a way I hated myself for agreeing. Intelligent yes, not sure about good writer, defiantly boorish. I would not wish a slow painful death from cancer to anyone. I don't drink usually, so let me just wish him peace from his pain and that I hope he made it to a better place, even if he did not believe in one.
