Description:

Short for an elf, Callomeleth keeps his long blonde hair straight. It falls to his shoulders, giving an almost halo-like effect. His eyes are a striking shade of lavender, and his skin slightly pale for one of the feyblooded.

Personality:

Callomeleth is a very friendly sort - he is out to spread the word of Shelyn across the Inner Sea, and desires to make friends with as many people as he can. He often whistles to himself to pass the time, and has enjoyed music long before he came to Shelyn's service. When his friends are threatened, however, he can react with a ferocity not unlike a panther protecting its young. He is a bit jealous of attention paid to those he fancies, however. He knows that jealousy is an ugly monster, and an affront to his Lady, but he also can't help what he feels.

Background:

To a fullblooded elf, there is no greater disgrace than to have lain with a human and produced a bastard. Callomeleth knew this from an early age, as his father, Adameth, drummed it into his head. It wasn't until his fifth decade of life that he understood why his father had such a distaste for the "half-bloods," as he called them: his mother, Gwenherves, informed him that, several centuries ago, she had fallen in love with a human and gave birth to a child between both the human and fey worlds. Adameth wanted to kill the baby girl, but Gwenherves stayed his hand. "The child would live a long life for a mortal, but would die in the blink of an elven eye, husband. Let her be taken into the care of Men, and raised among them." She gave up her child to her human father, and neither child nor lover were seen again.

This story struck Callomeleth in the heart, and he realized that love was an all-powerful force in the world, and the works of Shelyn began to call to him. He spent a decade or so in the temples of Shelyn, learning the songs of prayer and communing to be closer to the goddess. In time, he would feel the calling to spread her good works across the Inner Sea, and would leave the temple to be amongst the people.

In order to see the Varisian coast, he signed on with a merchant by the name of Sandru Vhiski, performing several roles: caravan guard, medic, spiritual advisor, and camp musician. After one particularly moving piece two years ago, Sandru grew quiet and wistful, and said something to him when speech returned. "The next time we are in Sandpoint," he said quietly, "I have someone you need to meet."

And indeed he did. He introduced Callomeleth to one of the former members of his adventuring band, a young Tien woman by the name of Ameiko Kaijutsu. In that moment, when she turned to him and regarded him with her dark almond-shaped eyes, when her mouth turned into a perfect curve of a smile, when she spoke in a flowing and melodious voice, he finally knew what fascinated his long-dead half-sister about humanity. Her father would only see the flaws - he teeth not straight enough, her skin too tanned, her ears unflatteringly curved - but those imperfections made her irresistible to him. She insisted that he sing for her. Somehow, he found the words - the tune came straight from the Goddess herself.

Since then, Ameiko has been a constant object of his fascination. He is elated to hear when Sandru announces a stop in Sandpoint, and when the caravan inevitably must leave, he only leaves with heavy regret. Thus far, he has not acted on his obsession - despite his father's absence, he fears he may learn of his love for this woman, and threaten to disown him from the family if he did not renounce her. He knows that he will outlive Ameiko by many centuries, but he wonders if he would want to, if it meant losing every chance to see that smile.

Relationships:

Ameiko: +8 (Friendship, and you get 400 XP)
Koya: +2 (Association)
Sandru: +2 (Association)
Shalelu: +2 (Association)

Also, you know that Ameiko's taste for a good adventure yarn is rooted in bother her appreciation for a well-told tale and her devotion to Shelyn as the goddess of art, meaning that if you wanted to earn her favor, a rollicking story of derring-do would be a good place to start.
