Sorry for the wait guys.
Calar will follow behind, but suggests to the group they let him enter any dangerous or unexplored rooms first.
Calar freezes, hand firm on his hammer.
Reflex save is 1d20+1 = 16
Calar will poke his head around and take a quick look for anything useful. Search=5.
Calar will stand to the side and then peer in once the door is open. Spot check = 12
Calar helps Vish out of the library. "Let's keep together."
He turns to Geddoe. "How is that lock coming?"
Calar will keep an eye out for danger.
"Geddoe, not to insinuate anything, but can you open this lock?" Calar will smile a bit sheepishly.
Calar will advance and peek through the door that is open. Spot = 1d20+2=19 If it is empty and appears safe, Calar will keep to the plan and open the door on the left.
"Good start!" Calar will prepare to continue marching suggesting they keep to the left and hit the room opposite their son the way back.
"Unless people object; we shall go to the left. Keep some organization." Calar will open the door on the left, unless someone objects.
"Aye. I don't think stealth is the answer here. I lead the way." Calar will enter and start down the trail. He will have his hammer at the ready.
Calar sighs. "Maybe I should be up front. I'd hate for the healer to go down." Calar will open the door if they let him.
Nerek Lodetracker wrote: Nerek whispers to Calar, "You think this thing might still be around?" Calar lifts an eyebrow. "We just got attacked by a cauldron. With our luck this thing is not only around, it already knows were here."
Calar will come along beside the dwarf. He keeps his eyes up and level scanning the courtyard and listening for danger. I am not making a move silently check. I am pretty sure the dwarf ruined it for us anyways ;) --- if needed or applicable spot 1d20+2 = 10; Listen 1d20+0 = 14.
Calar will be tense; he will be trying to keep an eye on Laurent from the gate, and be ready to storm in at the first sign of trouble.
Nerek Lodetracker wrote: "The court yard looks empty," Nerek says to the others, but he still waits for someone else to actually enter first. He'll spend the time visually searching to see if he can see any tracks leading through the gateway.
Does that need a second spot check?
Calar will enter first, keeping low. "Do we want to keep to the right, or circle around to the left?"
Calar looks at the statue. History Check is 1d20+3=17
"Looks like it depicts someone from the area's last line of great kings. Perhaps Hordarg or Vendirer."
Calar looks back at the group. "Should probably go look for those mushrooms now."
Calar hefts his hammer, in response to V's casting and warning.
"Why do I get the feeling that this is gonna be the worst part?"
Calar turns to his companions. "Stealth or might? Do we stick close together or let Geddoe scout ahead a bit?"
Calar will eye Vishantos, a worried look on his face. "Yes the quicker we get these ingredients the better."
To Vishantos. "You sure you are holding in all right, V?"
Calar doesn't worry about the hour difference. Chances are we'll need the healing more than the speed.
Calar stretches, feeling a little better after the rest at 11hp
"I suppose we should start getting a move on to the Dwarven Hold."
Calar gets up and makes ready to march, waiting on the wizard and cleric to exit the hut.
Calar watches the darkening sky. "In all truth, it might make sense to hold up here tonight. The hut is defensible, and in a bit of clearing so we could see approaching danger."
If the group agrees, Calar will take first watch.
Calar has no idea what rat tail looks like, so he leaves the hut and sits in the grass to rest his aching bones.
Calar watches as the pot falls to the ground. "Well, you guys saved it a world of hurt, I had that cookware lined up in my sights, but good." Calar offers a smile to show he is joking. "Let's get out of here guys."
I am guessing it is Calar's turn. 1d20+4+2(flank)+1(bless)= 17; Damage is 1d8+2=7. Calar curses under his breath as he swings his hammer against the odd enemy again.
Laurent Reno wrote: Attack the pot with the longsword - d20+1+1(bless)=15, damage d8+1=7.
Between swings, Laurent remarks to Calar, "Always something, eh? Who makes a pot like this anyway?"
Calar actually manages a smile. "Seriously, eh? What say we jump the thing, pin it down, have V grab the rat tail and then get the hell away from this cursed place?"
Dragonmann wrote: Vishantos wrote: Vishatos steps away from the cauldron (to A1) and fires his crossbow.
11+3=14, damage 5+1=6
Vishanto's bolt sinks deep into the iron hide of the cauldron beast, though there is no way to know how much damage the attack actually inflicted.
The cauldron presses its attack against Calar, but misses horribly. Calar will hammer away again.1d20+4 = 8, Damage = 4 . . .not that I hit :(
"FIND THE RAT TAIL!"
Calar grimaces, hefts his hammer and steps forward to swing. He is already wincing at how he imagines it will feel for his hammer to make contact with the sturdy iron cauldron. "Damnable witch. Vishantos find the rat tail." Calar swings his hammer. 1d20+4 = 24! rolling to confirm critical - 1d20+4 = 17. Damage is 1d8+2 = 3, if critical hit then X3 = 3d8+6 = (rolled 1, 7, 6) = 20 (hope that is not confusing!)
Calar takes the two damage - He is at 11 hp right now. His opposed grapple check is 1d20+3 = 9. I am guessing that the cauldron's was 4.
checking herbs inside
"Well, stealth is no longer an option. I will enter first, then everyone behind me. Someone stay out here and keep an eye out."
Calar enters the hut.
"Look for rat tail guys, whatever that is." Calar will start to rifle through the place, purposely avoiding the wrapped corpse looking object.
Search check if needed is 1d20+1 = 18.
Calar begins to laugh as Geddoe swears in his native tongue. "Sorry, friend. But since you already stink to high heavens why don't you do the honors and chase that skunk out before we enter.
Calar starts to move forward as Geddoe kicks in the door. "So much for stealth." He stops as soon as he smells the skunk. "Aww, by the gods man!"
Calar steps away from the rotting corpse. "I am not searching it." He says to those nearby. He moves about 10 feet off and hunches low, watching the hut and Geddoe.
Dragonmann wrote:
Calar's attack hits well, smashing the poor creatures head. Unfortunately, you are rewarded only with the death of the odd rat creature, the zombie is unslowed.
WHOO! Moral Victory!
Calar covers his mouth at the stench, but keeps swinging. Attack is 1d20+4 = 10; Damage is 1d8+2 = 4
Calar will step forward and swing. 1d20+4 = 19, Damage 1d8+2 = 6; using blunt hammer
Initiative:
Me - 1d20+ = 21 (I am so quick, lol)
Nerek - 1d20+1 = 21 (I swear to god)
Vishantos = 1d20+2 = 21 (I have no reason to lie, it is just a zombie)
Laurent = 1d20+3 = 6
Geddoe = 1d20+7 = 11
So I guess it goes Vishantos, Calar, Nerek (either way between these two), Geddoe, Laurent
Calar will follow Laurent's lead, but also put a finger to his lips and nod in the direction of the noise in an attempt to alert Geddoe.
Calar is with the bulk of the group, I was guessing 40-50 ft from the front of the hut. Listen Check is 1d20+0 = 19
Calar watches as Geddoe inches closer. He withdraws his hammer and prepares for the worst.
Nerek Lodetracker wrote: "So, uh, Geddoe, why don't you sneak over there and see if the witch is home," Nerek whispers nervously as he scratches his forehead. "Aye, do it Geddoe. I will back you up, follow about 15 feet behind you."
Calar watches the abomination shuffle off. "Damn these infernal woods."
"No point in wearing ourselves out. We will be no good to the Hollow if we show up on the doorsteps to winded to make our request; or worse off to tired to ably defend ourselves. Let's get going, but no need to rush ourselves unless the group disagrees."
"I reckon we gather up the moss, take a few minutes to catch our breathes and make our way to the Witch's hut."
Calar places a hand on Nerek's shoulder. "Thank you again for the healing, Nerek." Calar looks back at the beast. "That was a bit close for comfort."
"Where to next?"
Geddoe for the WIN !!!
Guessing that the creature is dazed and therefore loses its turn. My hp is now 13 (thanks Nerek!!), I will attack 1d20+4 = 16, Dmg 1d8+2 = 6
Calar offers a grunt of thanks as Nerek infuses him with healing; his grunt then switches to one of exertion as he hefts his hammer again.
