Thank you. I must be blind.

The character creation overview says that starting stamina points can be found in the class description. I can find no such information.

Everybody in the US is hitting the server at the same time. no server can stand up to that.

I am unable to download the Starfinder core rules PDF. I have tried six times on three different browsers, and the download always times out. even though I have broadband, I am unable to get a download speed faster than 48 kb/sec.

please advise.

3 people marked this as a favorite.

Be glad I'm not taking pics. I am currently doing the happy dance in my living room. I just got my shipping confirmation for my Starfinder order. (Insert schoolgirl squeal here)

Is anyone else going nuts waiting for Starfinder to hit the streets? I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas morning!

I suppose a little cosmic horror from the "dark tapestry" wouldn't hurt. As cartoonist John Kovalic once said, "Cthulhu is the bacon of gaming." I could also see a ghost ship with a zombie crew happening, OK. Maybe science fantasy isn't so bad.

My initial reacrion was "keep your fantasy out of my Sci Fi", but I'm willing to give it a shot.

Sci Fi is a big tent. What genre is Starfinder set in?

-Hard Sci Fi (More tech, less magic)
-some science fantasy "orcs in space" mashup
-Space Opera

Curious to know.

The ship on Killjoys. Its AI has a crush on the tech that maintains the ship. She's practically the fourth member of the crew.

Where exactly are the "Echo Woods" this dungeon is located in?

I hope you brought your umbrella, because it's raining nominations up in here.

Well, then by all means--let someone play a dhampyr in a party with a good-aligned cleric. <g>

For purposes of the Channel Energy class ability, how should a Dhampyr be treated: humanoid or undead?

I would love to see an entire AP set in Osirion. I was thinking the Pillars of the Sun region, the Pyramid of An-Hepsu XI, and a boatload of gnoll barbarians sounds like a lot of fun.

RE: Cockroach (giant)

IMHO this creature should be immortal. Everybody knows you can't kill cockroaches. They always survive!

Wait a minute. "We're not interested in updating silly creatures that have no evidence in the fossil record."

This from the company that just released updated statistics for the Flumph????

The entire POINT of "Misfit Monsters Redeemed" was to test ourselves. It was kind of an arrogant experiment, honestly, born out of a (perhaps unintentional) challenge that someone voiced on these very boards: "Is there any monster that Paizo CAN'T make cooler?"

We decided to take up that challenge. Whether or not we succeeded is up to those who read "Misfit Monsters Redeemed." I think we did, though.

Fine. Show me the fossil record for the Shoggoth, and I will shut up.

For purposes of a favored enemy, is a kobold zombie considered:

a) Humanoid (Reptilian)

b) Undead (Zombie)

c) Both

Thanks.

PF #25's sewer encounter brought up an interesting question. What effect would an obscuring mist spell have on a patch of shriekers?

IMHO, it would obscure their light sources. Do shriekers have some kind of tremorsense that alerts them to movement? (That would no rely on visual cues)

I'm just wondering why there is a special skill for flying. Unless you are an Avariel (Winged Elf) or a really powerful mage, I just don't see the need.

A last question is: one of my PC wants to be a tiefling, should I accept that and for his racial trait, I use the one in the Monster manual (page 210) ?

In my campaign, I am making a Tiefling character who will start the game at (-1000) experience points. I think that will give the other characters a chance to gain some traction.

I want to make one of the other characters a half-orc. However, from the racial description, I am thinking no. I can't think of any reason that a half-orc who grew up being verbally abused and belittled would grow up to be of good alignment. I think the whole "kindness and charity" spark would have been burnt out of such a person at an early age.

After reading this book, I have to say I am dumbfounded. This has to be the best RPG book I have ever read, (and I have been playing since the early '80's). The list of contributors reads like a 'who's who' of Third edition authors.

IMHO, this is what fourth edition should have been. (Not that I am eager to re-ignite the threetard/fouron debate). Everything is well thought-out and completely explained. Not only that, at 560 pages, the book is bulletproof should you find yourself in a gunfight. (Only kidding....I think.)

I can't wait to see what the Pathfinder crew has in store for us next.

The downloads server should be back online now.

I just read about what you guys are going through this weekend. When did you decide to hire "Murphy?" (Murphy's Law) You should have read the fine print in that contract. LOL

Seriously, you guys are going to need Beer and Pizza when this move is over.

I really need the information in that order, which is why I ordered the PDF copy instead of waiting for a dead tree version.

Wow! That is like the fastest conflict resolution ever! Thanks for your hard work.

I just blew $40 on PDF's that I can't download? Great!

Yeah; Italian names work well, as do Roman names (which is, of course, Italian names but in "ancient mode.")

Thanks!

Slow? Try "glacial". I am trying to download a 15.5 MB file on a broadband connection. My modem is capable of rocking and rolling at more than 256 MB/sec. What download speed do I get? try THREE KILOBITS PER SECOND. Seriously, even America Offline isn't this bad!
