Description:
A tall, slender man, the sharp points of his ears protruding from his dark brown hair mark him unmistakeably as a half-elf. His well tanned skin clearly shows his love for the outdoors, an awkward stiffness betraying his unease around other people. His piercing gaze is constantly on the move, scanning and evaluating his surroundings, watchful and wary of any hidden threat or danger.

Dressed in light, studded leather armor, he wears a buckler on his left arm and a scimitar at his waist. His preferred weapon is the well maintained longbow he wears casually over one shoulder. His clothing marks him as an outdoorsman, muted earthy colors with a backpack and bedroll indicating his willingness to spend a night under the stars.

Worn around his neck, on a simple leather cord, is a polished wooden holy symbol of Sarenrae. When lost in thought, he is often seen to absent mindedly run his fingers across the smooth, dark wood as he ponders his options.

Caladan was born into a wandering group of Varisian performers and travelled extensively with his family whilst growing up. His distinctive part-elven features marked him as different from an early age and he quickly became known as a quiet loner, more at home wandering the woods than persuading citizens of the various towns the troupe visited to part with their gold and silver coins.

As a young adult, he visited a shrine of Sarenrae just outside Roderic's cove where he met the man who would become his mentor – a druid of the sun called Salinor Dawnspirit. Here was where he first felt he truly belonged, remaining behind when his family moved on and pledging his service to help maintain the shrine and to keep watch over the wilderness surrounding the farming families on the outskirts of Roderic's cove.

Recently, Salinor has grown wary of the dark blot over Riddleport. Unable to leave the shrine, yet uneasy at the unnatural stain in the sky, he has sent Caladan to investigate, despite the half-elf’s dislike for bustling, urban centres.
