"They are not just simple healing herbs. It is a rare plant called Punica Granatum. It comes from a rare berry better known as fruit of the gods. Its natural healing properties are remarkable and I knew with the battle to come that it would be wise to take as much of that plant as I could find. I just did not expect to see the hobgoblins so far east already."

"Why are you two still out here? I know that you love your town, but we both know that your blade and spells alone are not much more than an annoyance against the horde."

"Yes, this was all my own doing. I was just too slow and I got poor Soranna into deadly peril when we were surrounded by a scouting party and attacked. Instead of killing us, they for some reason decided to drag us away and keep us as prisoners."

Round 8

Brother Derny calls out to Edvard from the safety of the trees, Go get'em, Sonny! Take the bastards down for me!"

Round 7

"Blessed Dawnflower, take my life if it will spare the life of that young man."

The elderly gentlemen, still bound, but no longer being held by his captor, moves over next to Edvard (M25), crouches down, and manages to lay his hands upon the witch.

Cure Moderate Wounds: 2d8 + 5 ⇒ (2, 4) + 5 = 11

"Be healed, my son, and do what you must to save your friends."

"Sir, you came prepared to Discern Lies. ARe you also prepared to Break Enchantments??"

"I am not familiar with this sort of enchantment. All I can see about Durgin is that he is very fond of this ring. He does not seem to be enchanted."

Tirion wrote:
"Or can you remove curses?"

"I have removed curses in the past, but usually that involves the removal of an unwanted item or some affliction. However, in this case, you have already physically removed the ring from him. I am still happy to try if you like, but I mostly suggest you pray to the benevolent Sarenrae to have mercy upon his soul."

"So far, I am not detecting anything unusual with his aura. Everything he says, he believes to be true."

Bofus wrote:
"Is everyone agreed? Brother, Captain? Durgin??"

Brother Derny, Captain Soranna, and Durgin all not their agreement.

Brother Derny then begins casting Discern Lie and concentrates upon both Bofus and Durgin. "You may begin your questions, now, my child."

Bofus wrote:
"Brother, have you prepared any spells this day that can discern whether someone is lying? Because I will gladly subject my self to that spell, and I suggest Durgin does the same. I recommend using that now. And if I know magic spells--someone correct me if I'm wrong--if either I or Durgin tries to resist the magic, you'll know we're resisting?"

"I cannot claim to be an inquisitor. The Dawnflower has a much gentler approach. However, I do have a spell that will allow me to discern a lie. If I concentrate upon a recipient who deliberately and knowingly speaks a lie, I will be able to discern disturbances in its aura caused by lying. Mind you, the spell does not reveal the truth, uncover unintentional inaccuracies, or necessarily reveal evasions, but it may still serve your purpose. If you are interested, I would be willing to try."

Tirion wrote:
"I understand that the magic on these blades is a powerful curse. However, the more important issue is whether you can break the curse that is currently affecting Durgin. I do not think that he is working with the Horde, and that he is affected by a nasty curse from the ring we found on him."

"So, my child, what seems to be the trouble with the farmer? He's always had the stutter for as long as I can remember."

Soranna wrote:
"Perhaps Brother Derny would be able to remove their curses."

"Don't look at me! I wouldn't know where to begin removing such curses. Almighty Dawnflower, help us with your light!"

"Well, thanks for coming, Sir Longbrow. If you wish to help me out further, I am sure there is plenty I can still have you do. May you have Sarenrae's blessing upon you!"

@Tirion, Mutamba, Bofus, (&Mantooth)

To find Mantooth, you proceed to the shrine to Sarenrae, to see what he is up to. You find him with a kindly old man, who greets you. "Good day, my children. Have you come seeking forgiveness and the healing light of the Dawnflower?"

@Mantooth

Mantooth wrote:
"My name is Mantooth Longbrow, I am a paladin of Iomedae. Indeed, sir, My party and I are the ones that brought news of this impending attack and that is why I am here. My soul is prepared for what is to come, as is my sword. While I am not a follower of Sarenrae, I offer my assistance to you now as a fellow man of faith to help you and your flock to move out of the town."

"Well, Sir Longbrow, it is indeed a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I am always pleased to meet someone faithful and dedicated in bringing light to this realm. One thing that I am very concerned about is what to do with our books and holy relics from our shrine. They are priceless to the church and I hate to think about what would happen to them if they were lost. Do you have any ideas on what I can do to preserve these artifacts and tomes?"

@Mantooth

"That is me. I am brother Derny. Who are you, my son? You are here to offer assistance, but have you not heard of the inevitable attack coming upon Drellin's Ferry?! Hobgoblins, Goblins, Ogres, Giants and Dragons will be here soon and will destroy us all! You need to pray to the good Dawnflower that she may prepare for all of our salvation. Is your soul prepared for what is to come?"
