History:
"Death to the Whispering Tyrant! Freedom to the peoples of Ustalav!"

Such was the last words of Bronislav Filipovic's ancestor, a hero who rallied the people of his village to defend against the undead hordes who attacked them. After the attack, Stjepan joined the Shining Crusade. Ever defiant even to the end, he yelled these words to his fellow prisoners of war as he was about to be beheaded. The Filipovic bloodline lived on. It has been a bit diluted by the passage of time, but there is courage in it.

Bronislav is the eldest of five brothers. The traditions of the Filipovics have been passed down from generation to generation, with each generation honoring the sacrifices that Stjepan made to throw off the yoke of the Whispering Tyrant's oppression. Bronislav felt that it was his duty to carry on that martial tradition and took up the spear, the weapon of the peasants and of Stjepan.

Bronislav loved history, spending many of his childhood evenings reading the same passages over and over again in his history book. So when he heard that Professor Lorrimor was nearby, he leapt at the chance to study under the esteemed professor. The relationship was of mutual benefit; Professor Lorrimor took down the accounts of the Filipovic family line, then filled in the gaps for Bronislav where the knowledge was missing, or provided some contextual background. Bronislav also accompanied Professor Lorrimor to many sites in Ustalav for a year as his guard and apprentice.

The two parted ways last year, but Bronislav developed a genuine friendship through correspondence with Professor Lorrimor over that time. He was saddened by the news his death and felt he must pay his respects to his former mentor.

description:
Bronislav stands about 5'10 and just under 200lbs. He keeps his hair cropped short out of necessity, but is dark-haired if he grows it out. He spent most of the last 5 in fights, and bears the scars of it. A jagged scar crosses the right side of his face from when he tripped a blade trap, splitting his face open. Luckily his eye was spared. It is a minor embarrassing in high society but the scar is a reminder for Bronislav to never be complacent. He dresses in a simple tunic and breeches under his armor most of the time.

personality:
Bronislav, like most people from Ustalav, doesn't particularly like outsiders. He's not so xenophobic that he won't work with outsiders, but they just aren't his first choice of employers or companions. He sees himself has a champion of the Ustalav people and would do anything to help defend them. So long as other people's goals don't oppose this, he has no problem with them. Bronislav identifies most with the peasants and distrusts aristocracy in general but mages in particular, seeing them as a primary reason for Ustalav's plight.
