Ohhh, alright, cool. Had misinterpreted that bit about how it's only moving, not all move actions that count.

Thanks for clarifying! Everyone on this board has been awesome about helping me out!

Awesome. That's what I meant to say.

Creatures also get a 5foot step, then?

Ohhhh. I just ran this duneon earlier tonight (first tabletop rpg experience) and I think I misunderstood the bonus against dragons.... the +2d6 is additional? I figured it replaced the normal attack...

Thanks for the welcome, both of you, and the advice, apotheosis!

One more question on the note of magical loot though... should I tell my players that items are magical at all, even if they still need to appraise it, or should they just be suspicious of all itens being magical?

Bet! Thank you!

Hello!

Just gm'd my first session of any tabletop rpg ever a few hours ago for some first time players!

I had read through the bb literature before we started, but didn't realize I had questions until they came up.

Now, looking at the simplified statblocks in the gm guide, I've got a question....

Let's say I'm looking at the human skeletons on p. 13. For attacks, they have:
claw +2 attack (1d4+2 damage)
2 claws +2 attack (1d4+2 damage)

Is the +2 out front to the attack roll, and the one in parentheses to the damage roll? Or....?

Also, 2 claws means it can use it's.move and standard to attack twice, right?

Thanks in advance!

Wow. Doublefail on my part. Meant to post in the pathfinder board AND doubleposted. Sweet.

I'll check that out in the CRB, but does that mean that with theircurrent party, there is no simple way to determine the effects of a magical item? (That's what I was asking about)

Hello, Paizoboards!

So, I've never played a tabletop rpg before and neither had either of my two players. I got the core book about a month annd a half ago, and then just recently got the beginner's box. Anyhow, I ran black fang's dungeon for them, and we all had a blast! My friends were a half-elf rogue and a dwarf druiid (allowing core races, classes, skills, and feats) and since there were only two of them, I rolled a human barbarian, which I controlled in combat, but at no other time.

They decided to wash their hands abd weapons in the fountain, which ruined the magic due to dirt and blood. After resting, they tried to drinl the water, but only rolled negative effects.

They used diplomacy on thee goblins successfully, but then decided to attack afterwards (which I allowed a surprise attack for).

They never figuref out the waterr pillar, but I allowed the dwarf to climb it with a DC 25 clomb check. At the top I let him see the chest on the island in the next room.

Black fang was a solid fight, but got away after a few rounds.

A few questions, though:

Svrolls/rods are only usable if you could normally learn thee spell, right?
Do all magic items appear unappraised for party members?

Sorry for spelling and being brief. On my phone and it's about to die...
