"Cabaret du Oubli" is not proper French, it should be "Cabaret de l'Oubli".

The app has been given new features and additional contents:

  • Additional contents (meaning archetypes, classes, abilities, monsters, traits, races, magic items, spells, weapons, armors, etc. described in the corresponding book): Advanced Player's Guide, AP traits (will be updated with each new AP player's guide), Inner Sea World Guide, Inner Sea Primer.
  • Import/Export of your character using a code.
  • Dices and results generation of attacks and damages dealt with the attack "equiped" by the character.
Please comment the app, here or on the stores. I remind you that it is available on the App Store as well as on Google Play. For the moment, only the APG is available on the App Store but the other downloadable contents should be ready in less than a week.

The characters will not have any background then...? How are we going to choose their traits? Will the campaign traits be linked to the kind of person they were?

  • In which city will the first adventure take place? Not too far from Thrushmoor I guess.
  • Is the travel to Casmaron as important as the destination?

James Jacobs wrote:
"That is dead that can eternal lie, and with strange aeons even death may die."
  • It looks like the PCs will be in these stranges aeons if we link this sentence to the AP title. And I guess it means much more than killing undeads so is this AP about avoiding an eternally lying being to awake or something else?
  • How are you going to deal with Insanity?.
  • How will the Necronomicon be linked to the campaign?

1. Would there be any added value in playing Hell's Rebels and Hell's Vengeance in parallel?
2. Could someone be the DM on one and a player on the other without being too much spoiled?

The most appropiate would probably be Nazhena. You should read what she is supposed to be doing after her failure (in the second chapter), considering she is still alive.

Hello everyone,

Ngara is a level 3 sorcerer spirit naga. I think only the three sorcerer levels acquired by her should be counted toward her fey bloodline and then she should not:

  • be able to use fleeting glance (level 9 power).
  • have bonus bloodline spells of spell levels 5, 7 and 9.
The 7th sorcerer level bonus feat does not seem to be added so there is no need to take it out.

Am I right?

Maybe I missed it but can you tell us which classes and races are covered or not covered in the full version? All of advanced race? All of new hybrid classes?

The full version contains, for the moment, all the data of the CRB and Bestiary. If the app finds enough clients, I will definitely continue with the other books.

Melkiador wrote:
On the lite version I was able to choose two traits of the same type. I'm pretty sure that's not legal.

My idea was, most of the times, to let the user make some illegal choices. You will also be able to pick a feat for which your character does not fulfil the conditions for example (even if you can ask the app to filter the feats so only the legal ones appear). I though it would more flexible for those who houserule a couple of things. But this is a good point and I will add a sentence to mention this fact in the proper view. Thanks.

Hi all,

After several long months of work, here I come to introduce my creation. My Hero! is an app for tablets and smartphones which allows you to manage automatically and comprehensively all your PFRPG characters. This is far more than a simple character sheet. Forget all the calculations because the app takes care of them, without mistakes. Stop losing your time in all your sheets: everything is in your device.

Let me list the app features right below:

Quote:
  • Languages : English and French.
  • OS : iOS and Android.
  • Automatic and Entirely Guided Character Creation (as well as leveling up). Every available options corresponding to your character’s class and level are proposed to you.
  • Automatic calculation of all your characters statistics in a very clear presentation close to the one used by the Bestiary.
  • Management of All your Characters, from the beginning to the end of their career.
  • Activation of Effects Affecting your Character. Effects is a general word to group things like spells, class features, combat modes, feats, conditions, afflictions, items abilities, etc. Your character’s statistics will be calculated as they should. This even works with complex effects like polymorph spells or antimagic zone.
  • Definition of Ten Attack Options - choose the weapon(s), the effect(s) to be added to it (magic weapon or holy weapon for example) and the combat mode to consider (arcane strike and/or power attack for example).
  • Complete Management of the Inventory. Buy one item for your character and the corresponding gold will be withdrawn from your saving. The inventory is managed with stores. Besides the base stores, you can define five of them and decide whether the weight of each of them is to be considered for your character encumbrance. Your character carries a bag of holding? Put the items in it in a store and indicate that the weight shouldn not be taken into account. Your character carries items which are owned by her group? Put thes items in a store which weight should be taken into account. If your group wishes, you can sell of these items with only one click. Mention the number of shares and the app will tell you the amount of gold gathered after this sell. This gold is already in your character’s belongings but you will be able to tell your friends how much they should add to theirs.
  • Definition of Creatures Called Allies whose statistics are available from the main view of your character. You can apply effects on your allies the same way you do it on your character. This feature is especially useful when summoning monsters. By the way, if you define an ally as a summoned creature and your character has the Augment Summoning feat then its statistics will be calculated as they should.
  • Hit Points Management.
  • Experience Points Management.
  • Spellbooks and Spell Lists Management.
  • Items Charges Management.
  • Features, Spells and Items Daily Uses Management.
  • Items Hit Points Management.
  • Familiar,Animal Companion and Mount Management (it is treated as an ally).
  • Sending of your Character Sheet by Email.
  • Basic Dice Launcher.
  • Optional Rule Management (Hero points, non-encumbrance, etc.)
  • A Combat Mode allowing you to define, round after round, the effects activated on your character as well as their duration. The effects will be deactivated as soon as their duration expires.
  • Figures: all the data from the Core Rulebook and the Bestiary are within My Hero!. Among other things, there are 11 classes, 5 NPC classes, 10 prestige classes, 7 races, 1500+ items, 190 feats, 655 spells, 500+ class features, 600+ monstres, 52 animal companions, 45 familiars, 500+ monster abilities.
Note: the Lite version of the app, which is free, provides all these features also. However, all the databases have been narrowed down and your character level is capped to 5. For example, only five races (dwarf, elf, gnome, half-elf and human) and four classes (barbarian, druid, paladin and sorcerer) are available.

Please provide any comment, suggestion or question regarding the app.

Enjoy your experience!

A normal set of cloathing counts as armor for the purpose of this spell, and only for it. The spell does not change a set of cloathing into armor, but a caster can enchant it as if it was an armor.

1 person marked this as FAQ candidate.

I have a few questions regarding the Soul Warden PrC described in the Undead Slayer's Handbook p 30:

  • The last sentence of the Spells per day entry speaks of "divine spellcasting class" whereas everywhere else the caster type is not mentioned. I guess it is an error but I would be glad to have the confirmation.
  • Channel Damage with a Cleric: if the character was a cleric, do channel energy and channel damage get their daily uses independantly? In this case do levels of Cleric and Soul Warden stack only when inflicting damage to undead with the channel energy ability and not with the channel damage ability?
  • Channel Damage with a Necromancer: the Power over Undead ability of a necromancer grants her a way to channel energy - do Necromancer levels and Soul Warden levels stack to determine the number of damage dice?

Shadow Cleric (Soufara Ebonwind) p. 59

Immune: Shouldn't there be "poison" as she casts delay poison?

Class Abilities: master's illusion should be DC 25 (10 + 18/2 + 6). She can use it 18 rd/day and it is listed as "at will" SLA as well. It might be the way it is intended to be written but it is a little bit confusing.

Spells: poison is level 4 and not level 3.

Skills: hp are 18d8+(2*18+9 (favored class)) so she has (2+1)*18+(18-9)=63.
Bluff - 9 (Rk) - 1 (Cha) + 3 (class skill from trickery domain) = 11
Diplomacy - 9 (Rk) - 1 (Cha) + 3 (class skill) = 11
Disguise - 9 (Rk) - 1 (Cha) + 3 (class skill from trickery domain) = 11
Knowledge (Religion) - 9 (Rk) + 1 (Int) + 3 (class skill) = 13
Perception - 0 (Rk) + 6 (Wis) + 0 (class skill) + 2 (keen senses) = 8
Sense Motive - 9 (Rk) + 6 (Wis) + 3 (class skill) = 18
Stealth - 13 (Rk) + 3 (Dex) + 3 (class skill from trickery domain) + 5 (shadow armor) = 24
Total Rk = 9+9+9+9+0+9+13 = 58
My guess is that the shadow armor competence bonus wasn't taken into account so Stealth Rk is 18.

Illeshka's tactics (p60) seems to imply that bonuses from different defending weapons stack. Is it really the case? Aren't these bonuses generated by the same source?

Holy Battle Mage p 231

He misses one second level cleric spell

God Stealer p . 207

level 0 spells - two of his list are from opposition schools so they should cost twice to be learned, and he still has four spells
level 4 spells - he misses one, as chopswil mentioned earlier
level 6 spells - disintegrate is from one opposition school so he has one extra spell he should not.

Note: he carries a medium load with his bag of holding on.

The answer is supposed to be in the FAQ but I can't find it, could someone help me?

DARKSTAR p. 239

He misses 1 rogue talent. He should have 5 from his rogue levels (level 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10, last one being advanced) and 3 from his shadowdancer levels (level 3, 6 and 9) -> 8 talents + defensive roll (Shadowdancer 5) + slippery mind (Shadowdancer 7) = 10. He has only 9. Moreover, slippery mind isn't noted into the rogue talents parenthesis.

Having achieved level 10 Shadowdancer, his shadow call ability allows him to use Shadow Conjuration, Greater so I guess the corresponding DC should be 17 and not 14 (calculted as if it was Shadow Conjuration).

DEMONOLOGIST p. 227

Prismatic Wall is level 8 and not level 9

chopswil wrote:

MASTER DUELIST p. 219

Feat Pre Req: Deflect Arrows is missing prereq feat Improved Unarmed Strike

He gets this feat from the PrC (level 9). I guess the sentence "you can use this feat even if you do not have the normal prerequisites" is missing.

Moreover, I think he should have Quick Draw if he wants to be able to throw so many daggers!

I feel like the wording and the spirit of the spell are different. However, as some of you mentioned, it would be weird to have a wording different from Beast Shape to say the same thing...

Thanks for your answers.

Read the spell descriptions... You get EXACTLY WHAT THE SPELL SAYS YOU GET.

Very interesting (and helpful) answer...

LazarX wrote:
Why in the Hells would anyone want to change into a medium dragon when they qualify for bigger? The main reason for casting the spell is to terrify the mooks after all.

Space, but this isn't the point I want to discuss, even if we're free to talk about it.

So, I'm sorry but the description of this spell isn't as straightforward for me as it seems for you. For example, there is no reason why the size bonus and the natural attacks should change between Form of the Dragon I and Form of the Dragon II - it doesn't between the different Beast Shape spells and the damage dices of the natural attacks are the ones corresponding to the appropriate dragon size. I wonder about the other abilities... and this is why I'm asking.

Let's say my character is using Form of the Dragon II to change into a dragon of size M. Is it exactly as if he had cast Form of the Dragon I or does he get DR for example?

James Jacobs wrote:
A campaign is more fun, I've found, if the player not only designs a cool backstory for their character, but sees that backstory actually come up in play and MEAN something in play. These traits are an attempt to incorporate that directly into the adventures.

That is, without a doubt, a laudable idea. However, I think that having to choose among 6 traits isn't enough, even if I understand that multiplying the options in this particular case is even more difficult as each trait should be given its 'side quest'. However, if the only issue was space, what about writing an article about it in the first part of an AP?

With the same formula: 0 ranks + 5 Dex + 4 good maneuverability + 6 half CL + 0 class skill - 2 size = Fly +13

What's the issue?
As mentioned above, the fact that it's a constant spell-like ability grants it as a class skill. I didn't agree with it at first either, but it's the formula later bestiaries follow as well. I started to see the reasoning before long. Basically if it's constant, requiring no effort to maintain, then it's just a natural part of the creature, and is basically supernatural in nature with the exception with how it interacts with various abjuration effects.

It has no rank in fly so there is no "+3".

But once again thanks for the precisions regarding flying.

Strife2002 wrote:
10 ranks + 5 Dex + 4 good maneuverability + 6 half CL + 3 class skill - 2 size = Fly +26

I totally agree, but if you don't take into account the spell it should be +20 and not +21 as it is for the moment. That's the only thing I meant.

Strife2002 wrote:
fly speed grants Fly as a class skill

I didn't know that: thanks! I guess this should only be true for creatures able to fly without a magical mean, otherwise Fly would always be a class skill when needed.

Strife2002 wrote:
Gelugon: Like the bone devil before it, this guy's Fly skill is contested. It's likely it should be changed to "+16".

With the same formula: 0 ranks + 5 Dex + 4 good maneuverability + 6 half CL + 0 class skill - 2 size = Fly +13

What's the issue?

Thanks for the summary of the other potential errors.

Having a closer look to the creatures from the summon monster list I came up with several potential errors. I can be wrong but here is the list (sorry if it has already been mentioned):
- Xill: armor penalty not taken into account for Acrobatics
- Lillend: Only 3 additional class skills when it can have 4?
- Osyluth: Fly modifier doesn't take into account the bonus from fly spell (even without it should be +20 and not +21)
- Hezrou: Only 3 additional class skills when it can have 4?
- Trompet Archon: Sense Motive +22 (not +24), 5 additional class skill instead of 4.
- Gelugon: bite damage isn't calculated as if it was a secondary attack (1x instead of 0.5x).
- Ghaele: Gaze attack DC should be 19? CMD is missing dodge bonus from Dodge and deflection bonus from holy aura.
- Glabrezu: Diplomacy and Intimidate should have +24 and not +22
- Nalfeshnee: 5 additional class skill instead of 4.

This has already been corrected in the update 1.2 (maybe even 1.1)

p52 - Cyclops

- There is no reason why it should be proficient with greataxe
- Heavy crossbow critical modifier is wrong (was already mentioned in a previous page by someone else)
- I count 17 skill points instead of 20, except if Profession is not a class skill anymore for giants.
Intimidate : 7 (rk) + 3 (giants class skill) - 1 (Cha) = 9
Perception : 0 (rk) + 8 (racial) + 2 (alertness) + 1 (Wis) = 11
Profession (soothsayer) : 6 (rk) + 3 (humanoids class skill) + 1 (Wis) = 10
Sense Motive : 2 (rk) + 2 (alertness) + 1 (Wis) = 5
Survival : 2 (rk) + 3 (humanoids class skill) + 1 (Wis) = 6

We agree then. I would houserule that the giant subtype gives proficiency with the weapons in the entry and that Profession isn't a class skill for these specific humanoids.

I've also seen that the cyclops heavy crossbow has a critical hit multiplier of x3... normal?

The thing is that, as a humanoid, it only has "Proficient with all simple weapons, or by character class"...

I guess my poor english was unclear. What I meant in (1) is that I don't see any rule giving the cyclops proficiency with greataxe.

Looking a little bit deeper in the cyclops stats (Bestiary p52) I have a couple of questions.

1. Weapon proficiency

Humanoid: "Proficient with all simple weapons, or by character class"

When a monster is proficient with the weapons it is carrying in its entry, it is mentioned in the corresponding type description as for fey for example ("Proficient with all simple weapons and any weapons mentioned in its entry").

Giant subtype: "A giant is a humanoid creature of great strength, usually of at least Large size. Giants have a number of racial Hit Dice and never substitute such Hit Dice for class levels like some humanoids. Giants have low-light vision, and treat Intimidate and Perception as class skills"

So there isn't anything giving Cyclops the ability to use a greataxe (martial) properly, am I right? Giants often use martial weapons so I guess something should be added to the corresponding subtype, but maybe there is something I don't see. Is it?

2. Skills

One more thing regarding cyclops - I count 17 skill points used when it should have 20.
- Intimidate : 7 (rk) + 3 (giants class skill) - 1 (Cha) = 9
- Perception : 0 (rk) + 8 (racial) + 2 (alertness) + 1 (Wis) = 11
- Profession (soothsayer) : 6 (rk) + 3 (humanoids class skill) + 1 (Wis) = 10
- Sense Motive : 2 (rk) + 2 (alertness) + 1 (Wis) = 5
- Survival : 2 (rk) + 3 (humanoids class skill) + 1 (Wis) = 6

Is it that Profession is no more a class skill for giants or is there something else I don't see?

Thanks

PCs can buy and carry dry firewood. It means that finding such wood should be difficult in the snowy forest (either in Taldor or Irrisen).

What should be the Survival DC to find such firewood in this kind of forest? What should be the Survival DC to start a fire without such firewood?

Your maps are awesome. Thank you very much for sharing!

Do you plan to create maps for the encounters which haven't been given any in the AP?
