Hello Paizo Gang, I just noticed this product in the final issue of Dragon. Do you have any details beyond what was listed there? If not, when can we expect more info?

Hey Bargle,
I don't think that they announced the level range of the second AP. But I'd expect it to take up 15-20 levels, which would mean this AP would start with PCs at 1st to 6th. IMHO, That would be very difficult to modify for 15th or 16th level characters.

Slight Sidetrack: I was pretty impressed with the relative lack of errors in the Player's Guide considering everything was Paizo was trying to do. I do have a (slight) concern that we may see a higher rate of errors in Pathfinder#1 due to the workload when developing it. Even if that is the case, I think they'll rebound by Pathfinder#3, but I hope people will give them a chance.

Under "My Subscriptions" the drop menu for Pathfinder shipping methods is still active. I'm pretty sure I selected one already, so shouldn't the menu be locked? I'm just worried about this somehow delaying the shipment.

Any help is appreciated.

thanks, Robert

You are allowed to change your shipping method. That's probably why it doesn't get locked. But anytime you go to that page, the correct shipping method should be the default.

The same thing happens with a GameMastery Subscription, and I have had no porblems

Erastil: But I did notice that the Community domain was dropped from the Pathfinder Blog teaser.

It actually came up in a discussion (sorry, can't find the thread) of that Blog teaser that there were domains in the SRD that were not in the PHB. Erik hadn't realized this and I am guessing, as a result, included the additional domains where appropriate.

Is there a futur campaign in egyptian/arabian, desert environment ? I think about somes aventures like Desert of Desolation you know, or Warhammer's adventure Lure of the Liche Lord...

According to the Paizo blog: "J1: Entombed with the Pharaohs takes place in Osirion, the Egypt analog of Golarion. Not sure if there will be an adventure Path (and it would be at least a year off anyhow), but they at least have a place carved out in the world for adventures such as what you suggest.

I don't have 120 dollars to spend on 6 20 dollar books at once x.x

unless I could like..... errr.... how does subscribing work to a month-to-month kind of deal????

You only get charged for the books when they ship. So you don't have to shell out all the money at one time.

Is the Pathfinder art manga?

I don't see it either.

I'd build an archaeologist as a bard with a maybe few levels of expert to cover the skills that bards don't get. ...speak language.... bards don't bloody get speak language.

Actually they do.

I think the file was not completely uploaded, looks like something is at that URL, just corrupted.

Can anyone tell me which school "Swift Ready" from "Forge of War" belongs. I am guessing probably Conjuration (Summoning), but perhaps transmutation.

I'm excited about Pathfinder, but I am a bit concerned about all of the new monsters. Like many gamers I depend on my D&D miniatures a great deal, and I prefer adventures were I can use these minis. With Savage Tide, I've been able to substitute monsters in the adventure with monsters for which I have the miniatures. However, I hope there isn't too agreat an emphasis on new monsters. Is Paizo able to use D&D monsters in the Monster Manual 2-5 in Pathfinder, or is this prohibited?

For the most part no, they are Inetllectual Property of Wizards. There are at least two exceptions that are Open Gaming Content (I believe in MM2).

The only referance I have to the pseudonatural template comes from the Epic level handbook (pre 3.5) My best guess would be that since the template actually gets stronger as you gain hit dice. Maybe make the penalty to CHA checks -1per HD to reflect the alternate from becoming more and more horrific as they gain power.

The Pseudonatural Template in the Epic Handbook is much different and far more powerful than the one in Lords and Madness and Complete Arcane. The lesser ones are more in line in strength with the Celestial and Fiendish templates

Just curious what other's thoughts are. I spent all of 2 minutes looking at it and didn't find much of interest.

PS: just as a warning: the color scheme could give you brain tumors.

Had the same thought. Hopefully, someone will be able to point out something worthwhile

Sean Mahoney wrote:

The books will require the use of the three core books to play (one of the requirements of being OGL) as they can't show anything about how to level up and such.

Actually being OGL does not require the three core books. Strange as it may sound, you could apply the OGL to non-d20 systems.

Also it does not restrict leveling up. This is actually a d20 license restriction. You also would have to write the leveling system yourself, since the DnD leveling mechanic is not in the SRD. However, the leveling basics could stay the same, since game rules cannot be copyrighted (though the text can be).

Sean Mahoney wrote:

(not sure why they are deciding not to just put the D20 mark on it, but that was their decision... who cares really).

There are more restrictions on D20 licenses than just OGL, though I don't know if this was Paizo's reasoning.

Darkmeer wrote:
Gamma World is/will be next, then what?

Actually unless there was a new license distributed, that license was already cancelled and rights reverted back to WotC in August 2005.

Allen Stewart wrote:

Given that Greyhawk and the other campaign settings (which I have no interest in but I know other readers do) are WoTC owned, will Pathfinder be able to write for adventures set IN those campaigns specifically under the open-game license?

Will Rob Kuntz's MAURE CASTLE be able to continue in Pathfinder?

Pathfinder is set in a new campaign world developed by Paizo (exciting stuff see the Pathfinder page for more info).

Greyhawk and Maure castle are out.

SRD wrote:
A creature with this special quality ignores damage from most weapons and natural attacks. Wounds heal immediately, or the weapon bounces off harmlessly (in either case, the opponent knows the attack was ineffective). The creature takes normal damage from energy attacks (even nonmagical ones), spells, spell-like abilities, and supernatural abilities.

emphasis mine

As for the second question, I don't believe so. I think the monster has to make an attack unless otherwise specified.

I thought I would start this thread to collect some of our requests to help the paizo guys keep them straight:

I always liked when you included summoning lists in the Core Beliefs articles. Please include a custom list whenever you introduce a new deity. It provides a great way for Clerics to differentiate themselves.

The Ecology articles were also quite helpful, the added dimension helps provide a deeper understanding of creatures for use elsewhere in the campaign world or just when PCs decide not to cooperate with well thought out plots :). Please include expanded creature descriptions when including new monsters.

Any luck for warlocks?

Warlocks are WotC intellectual property, sot that would most likely be a "no"

Here's another vote.

Sorry if I come off as a bit of a pessimist, but I don't see WotC licensing a card deck of their non-OGC property. What would be in it for them? They own the content, already paid to develop it and probably have production costs of quality cards (ala magic the gathering) down far below what even Paizo could match.
