The one thing I was always concerned with something like big battles was being a healer and trying to keep tabs on everyone that might need healing.

Some relief was having more then one medic in different groups that was able to keep tabs on their designated group(s). Like me I was clicking everywhere and some games it was hard to do that in the midst of battles without some kind of raid windows to see everyone's health.

Thinking of how battles I can't ponder how much practice it would take to get everything down and done effectively. Saturday - practice drills, sunday - we're doing a mock battle with others. That does sound fun though, and what possibilities of big battles will be like.

Like to know what all these abilities will be.

flank, flank them now!
How do you flank?
Did you not pay attention to the battle drills?
No, I was watching Dr. Who.

1. I want my mind entertained, like to know something's going on that could do for my assistance. Events like someone running up asking for help, or a mob is attacking the small town. Rather not spend time in a queue hoping to get a group going, when I can group with a random person to help take down bandits attacking a caravan. (Be like buying a new scenario for my friends to play for Pathfinder PnP)

2. Keep social aspect in mind. Not in the terms of global/zone chats those should never be the reason for chatting. Let people be driven to find others to group with, a small group where people can just casually chat while hunting. Best way to make a new friend or two.

@DeciusBrutus Well yeah :) after the fire clears (more of just joking around, but i'll go with it now), you would have to clear the rubble get the spot ready to build on.

@Onishi - Oh yeah I think houses would be able to be attacked, if you can't protect it yourself. There just needs to be ways if you're not there and can't afford guards around the clock... how much it takes before your place is destroyed or we'll have a lot of griefing on properties. If this house is abandoned or the person has been away for awhile, I would think it'd be easier to clean out the house and damage it (due to age and no keeping up with the upkeep).

I can see towns hiring npc guards to walk around and patrol but what's to allow to know when to head for a house across town that's being set on fire; if no PC's happen to be in the town to pay attention. Watch Towers would be the thought for that I suppose but not sure how effective they will be and how much they can see. There could be a script to see when a fire is starting to alert npc's or if they can't attack a target but see it pass the window to alert ground guards.

Lots of scripting, that I would say cost more gold per hour/day for this guard to be able to do all these things if such and such happens.
There's more to this I want to go on, but it's time for bed and I'm just leaving so much out that I want to continue on he he.

1. Make crafting in depth like a game of it's own, in a game. People will be adventuring I want to be the one who creates the items that they use. I want to be the one who repairs their broken sword, mend their armor.

2. Breakable items - helps with the crafting community. They can repair an item but it takes away durability little by little till they need a new one. Items can be destroyed by acid monsters, or lost due to death. Magic items need a special type of person to repair so that one is sought out.

Make crafting an actual market and not just another thing that can be done while you're bored and set to make 20 short swords while you are not at keyboard.

3. Multi-classing is the spice of life they have the abilities of two classes they are not always as powerful as a dedicated single class. But it's nice to have someone who maybe grabs heals from one area while adding damage/debuffs/buffs from another class to help out and support others with the same abilities. "Don't worry I'll add in some heals to help you out and abilities that will enhance our groups fighting abilities."

4. Body guards to gather that rare material that only I have the ability to extract or know what it is. Giving out quests to adventurers to gather these items.

5. No global chat - keep it to yells makes it feel more realistic (well to the extent that a video game can provide). Makes the usual spots for adventurers to find a quest/groups equal to how they would in a game (inn/bar/bulletin board) . Also lessens the usual talks of global chat that bog it down and make most just leave that channel altogether.
