Hi folks. You might have noticed I've been absent for a while. My apologies. I'm dealing with a bunch of overlapping life changes that have left me wiped out during my small amount of free time.

I can't reliably post right now, and I'm not sure when that will change, so I'm reluctantly dropping out of this game.

I've really enjoyed the character interactions. If I can sort out real life I'll come back and beg to rejoin.

Maybe Boomer can join the settlers and become a potion-brewing shop for the party?

"Eh, I just reverse engineer the wizardy stuff. There's a lot of arcane nonsense that ain't useful tae me. Alchemy is physical. So when a scroll says tae "evoke the aether at point nine of Avedaro's Constant" or some such garbage, I gotta figure out what that means in terms of ingredients. It's an awful lot like makin' a recipe out of someone else's book when they use different measurements and different words for ingredients. It's a giant pain in the arse, but once I figure it out I can do it by the numbers an crank 'em out quick."

"An' don't even get me started on Sorcerer scrolls. They don't ever know what the eff they're talkin' 'bout."

Boomer smiles are the scrolls and alchemical supplies.

"Adu, lemme hang ontae those scrolls. I'll work 'em out and make potions from 'em," he said, adding his own list of scrolls to the purchase.

I can add those to my formulae book and make potions for the party on the cheap, Much better than only getting one use out of them.

finally found the time to level up Boomer.

Picked up Precise Shot, Swift Alchemy, and formulae for Shield and Ant Haul.

Not sure. I'll do a full audit when I finally do this level up. Life is madness lately and I haven't had the time or brainpower to work the numbers or check the game.

Boomer stuffed a rag into his cask, lit it off of his cigar, and tossed it, looking pained at the waste of good liquor.

Boomer looked frustrated that the undead filth still stood. With a scowl he took a knee and pulled a small cask out of his pack and a handkerchief from his pocket.

Boomer took a step back to get out of reach of the skeleton pawing at his shield and sailed his last bomb right into the Hecueva's face.

He headed toward the commotion at a sturdy jog, taking a swig off one of his many flasks as he ran.

Boomer straddled the fallen enemy and slammed the edge of his shield down into it until it was only bone fragments. The litany of curses that spilled from his lips was impressive even by dwarven standards, but eventually devolved into unintelligible snarling and grunts.

Eventually his body seemed to shrink again and started taking deep, ragged breaths. His shield hit the ground next to him as he stood up straight and wiped his mouth.

"Damn, that stuff's got a kick."

Boomer lashed out with his targe as the undead horror passed, hitting much harder than usual.

With the spiders gone and the undead monster immune to fire, and half his allies choking on smoke, Boomer pulled out a flask with a skull and crossbones on it and quickly downed it's contents.

Drinking my Mutegen. +4 Ster, +2 Natural Armor, -2 Charisma

With a shudder and and a snarl, the boisterous alchemist visibly bulked and hunched. He spat his ever-present cigar onto the dirt, grinned with sheer drooling malice and took a double handed grip on his shield.

Using Alchemical Weapon to add a Bomb to an Alchemist Fire. Hitting the swarm (main target) and the glowy eyed guy (splash damage), missing our side (precise bombs)

"Burn, ye wee bastards," Boomer said as he tossed a bomb into the swarm

Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15 If hit, the alchemist fire will damage next round too.
fire Damage: 2d4 + 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4, 3) + (5) + 4 = 16
Splash is 6 fire, DC 14 reflex for 1/2. AoE usually does extra damage to swarms.

If ye plan on setting up camp outside, make sure tae set a watch and set some torches a ways down the caves so ye c'n see what's coming. We'll try tae work fast. Stay on yer toes 'till we're done."

I agree that the Oracle or the Occultist are the best picks from a party role perspective. Either would be fine with me. I'm slightly more inclined toward the Occultist because this group could use another ranged combat specialist.

Boomer pulled two vials and tossed them both with a simultaneous underhand lob, causing a chain reaction of fire.

Using Alchemical Weapon to add an Alchemist Fire to a Bomb (which counts as a weapon). Using Explosive Bomb discovery to double the splash radius.

Ranged Touch, Purple Roach: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Fire damage: 1d6 + 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + 4 + (4) = 14

All enemies within 10 feet (teal and orange) take 5 points of Splash damage. DC 14 Reflex for half.

If hit, Purple Roach will take another 1d6 Fire next round (as per alchemist fire)
