Sparrow: "wE ArE peoPLe PEOplE!"
Sparrow: "WE gOtTA TaKE hiM fER ALL he'S WORTH!"
Eagle: "He must answer for his deeds."
Owl: "Find out what he knows."
Crow: "Peel him away skin by skin until we see what he's really made of."
Crow: "Run him through! He knows too much!"
Eagle: "Always with the threats, you people. You'll catch more flies with honey."
Owl: "Hear him out; an outsider's perspective can be valuable at the moment."
Sparrow: "fLIp A CcOIn; heADs, kilL 'IM. TAilS, wELcOme 'im To tHe fFaMIly."
Owl: "I haven't any knowledge of his current location or appearance."
Crow: "Surprising, since I had such a great view from the crate you found me under."
Eagle: "I don't remember what was done to me, but I remember being... whole, once."
Sparrow: "he'S pROBalLY kkEpPTT thE REAL nNIcE shiNy tHInGS fOr HImsElf."
Reghar Bloodseeker wrote: "Nice birdies, did you like this Enoch dude?" The worn blade in Thorn's hand sounds agitated.
Owl: "The name..."
Eagle: "Enoch is very dangerous. Even for the likes of you."
Sparrow: "trIED To BREAk mE."
Crow: "I'll shed his golden blood and eat it for what he and his master did to me."
Eagle: "Tread carefully if you would follow in his wake."
Owl: "I remember another... but they escape my recollection."

"Letters, words, books, giving me a headache."
“Corpses and killer trees too, on the positive,” points out Thorn helpfully, as he looks at what the sword has pointed out in regards to the body.
“Could be right. Sacrifice perhaps?”
Owl: "A fine guess."
Crow: "I agree with the beast-man: let's kill something. Something small. Something that will bleed a lot and scream."
Owl: "Why would an attacker sever both the neck and the wrists?"
Eagle: "Look at the ankles: the skin has been stretched strangely."
Crow: "Not combat wounds. I'd run 'em through the gut for a nice slow death. Sheering through the ribcage to reach the heart wouldn't be difficult either or through the skull. A quick decap would separate the neck and head cleanly."
Sparrow: "SsEVEred arrRterrIES, nOT eNOuGH bBlOoD."
For a moment, Thorn isn't sure of his ears. The sword speaks in one stern, gentle voice.
"I was curious if you remembered their lessons. Surely they told you that a fine weapon wielded well could mean your life or that of your comrades or flock? Surely your sire taught you respect for such a thing and yet you swing me about as a toy. I am... not as fine... as I was, but I am sharp, sir, still with many years of fine use. Please, respect me as you were taught and you will not be disappointed. An accident can be fatal, to you or your comrades."
Toward the end, the sword's voice seems to splinter again, becoming four voices speaking at once in a discordant unity. Then, it is silent for a moment.
Sparrow: "wHO's ttHE sTIFf?"
Crow: "Stab him again, make sure he's dead. I'll help."
Eagle:"I dearly hope he was not a friend of yours?"
Owl: "There's something wrong with it."
The weathered sword speaks to Thorn.
Sparrow: "qUEstIoN."
Owl: "Who taught you to use a sword?"
Thorn of Clovenwood wrote: Thorn waits for his companions’ reactions before proceeding further into the room… for a moment or two at least. His short tail swishes impatiently, and he fiddles absently with the sword in his hand. Eagle: "Careful of that tree."
Owl: "Are those illicit substances on that table?"
Sparrow: "wIlL yoU gET mE A PREettY sCABbarD?"
Crow: "Let's kill something. That scrawny one gave us attitude. Let's kill him."
(Eagle) "I can understand your reluctance, sir, but I can assure you..."
(Sparrow) "gGo pISs UP a RroPE, bBuDDy!"
(Eagle) "... we are most eager to work with you and we will exercise restraint when necessary."
(Owl) "I will keep the others in check, there is no reason to fear."
(Crow) "Coward."
For a weapon as shabby looking as it is, the sword is well balanced and seems sharp enough. After a few swings, the grip starts to pivot in your hand and the balance shifts, forcing you to reign it in.
(Owl) "Your form is sloppy and reckless."
(Crow) "Some real action is what I need to see."
(Eagle) "You've got the basics down, but this isn't a real fight."
(Sparrow) "yoU hAvE lEss pATIEnce tHan mE, shEPheRd. tImE WilL tEll."
(Crow) "Don't the others want a try? Don't you think they covet me?"
(Eagle) "Don't listen."
(Crow) "Just show me you're better than the others..."
(Sparrow) "yOu'Re lIkE mE..."
(Crow) "... when the last man stands, I'll show him everything I can do."
(Sparrow) "... sEe YOUr otHEr, sQuaTtIng gReeDY iNsiDE."
(Crow) "Wield me in battle and you'll see my worth. That is, if you know which end to hold."
(Eagle) "There are few creatures in all the Planes that won't feel my bite, for there are precious few blades like me."
(Sparrow)"WHaT arE YOU worRth, sHeep-MaN? yoU anD yOUR taG-aLOng?"
(Owl) "I think I have been more than forthcoming. It is only fair to witness your talents before revealing any more of mine."
(Eagle) "A worthy wielder is all I ask."
(Crow) "It's been too long since I've hacked off limbs and ended lives. If 'worth' you measure in money, perhaps we can hack apart a rich man together?"
(Owl) "I wish to see the Planes again, that I may remember what I was."
(Sparrow) "takE WInG, yEs."
