Oh, I'm plenty familiar with HPL and his writings. The CoC game mechanics is what I was referring to when I said I had a lack of a knowledge base. I've read stuff about the game, including about Delta Green, but just don't know the rules. Besides, like I said, time is an issue. I'm already in two pbps and I'm trying not to go beyond that. I finished updating Keliwyn, and he's ready to go, although I can't drop the Korvosa from his name. Keliwyn's first impression is that of a well polished and put together young man in the human equivalent of his late twenties. His hair is usually pulled back in a deliberate effort to accent his elven ears and features. He wears well maintained clothes with intricate elvish designs, polished boots and a finely crafted brooch holding his cloak. In general, everything Keliwyn does is well though out - including how he dresses. Although he has a few choice items and impeccably maintains his clothes, it is all done so as to allow him to interact with a wide range of people, from the common worker in the typical pub, to members of royalty and society. As a person, Keliwyn is very friendly and seemingly forthright. He is always sympathetic and willing to listen to people's opinions and problems, even if only calculated so as to gain their trust. He is, quite often, the smiling, happy guy in the pub willing to buy drinks for complete strangers, quick with a pat on the back, and willing to help those in need. Keliwyn has only recently joined his traveling companions, having been sent by an elven population near the vale to look into growing reports of goblin & hobgoblin activity. Keliwyn has been used before to act behind the scenes, gather information, and generally keep tabs on what's going on around the region. Depending on one's political inclinations, he is a man-on-the-street, intelligence officer, or, as some would say, spy. Hello, all! I still need to revamp Keliwyn and make sure he's outfitted properly, but will hopefully take care of that today. As for how he fits in with the company, I'll need to work on that as well. Hey, Crazy, are you going to set this in Golarion, or are you leaving it in the Forgotten Realms? Just curious, so I can flesh out my background a little better. Geraint! It's good to be playing with you again. Nice rolls for me, Tim! I appreciate it! Thanks, that crit was fantastic, and I was really sweating that fight. As for Kel's hit points, Istas' healing would bring him to 30/35, with 35 being where he was with the Heroes' Feast points. Once you lose those points, can they be healed? If not, then Kel would be at his otherwise full up but meager 23 hit points. Wow, Daemonslye, these are awesome. It's been a looooong time since I've looked at those old modules (yes modules! not adventures! modules were what they were called!) but you've really knocked it out of the park. I seriously can't imagine the work that went into each one of these. Thumbs up on a job well done. Sebastian wrote: Definitely rooting for the horde. This show would be so much better if only we didn't have to endure one more conversation about "Where's Carl!?!?" or see Lori do a 180 on an important topic (wasn't she needling Rick into killing Shane just a few episodes ago?). Amen, brother. Lori getting all don't-touch-me after Rick told her what happened with Shane was the final straw. I've lost all sympathy for the character. The adventure Crypt of the Everflame is meant to introduce players & GMs to the full rules, and when combined with Masks of the Living God and City of Golden Death, they work out to a mini-campaign that will take your characters to at least sixth level. I haven't played them, but there's been a lot of positive reviews. Hey, xyro/Jeff! Man, I'm sorry to hear your group folded, and wish I could help with that. Zhap, sorry, man, but I just can't squeeze in a real life game right now. Between work/prof stuff and kiddie stuff on the weekends, I just don't have the time. I'm hoping that'll shake itself out in the near future, but until it does, I'd have a hard time getting in any sort of game. Nice analysis, Neil, although I have to side with your take. Shane didn't want to die, and didn't want Rick to kill him. He just wanted a chance to kill Rick mano-on-mano, and Rick, smartly so, wouldn't give him that. That's why he hesitated. His plan actually didn't go perfectly. I believe he wanted to shoot it out, and when things weren't going how he envisioned them to be, he became confused and didn't know what to do. Rick saw that, knew what he had to do, and took advantage of it, proving, as you pointed out, that he had the mettle Shane thought he didn't. Now, next week looks like it's going to be a shoot 'em up fun episode. Will anyone else die? My Magic 8 Ball says Yes. Of course, if I was leading that group, I'd get everyone upstairs, board up the downstairs quick, and see if you can hunker down and let them pass, just like they did on the highway. Of course, Carl would decide it was a good time to go wandering, Lori would chase after him, and everything would go to hell anyway. FWIW, I find it a good idea to just keep posting while waiting for someone else to catch up, even if it's something inane, as evidenced by my most recent post. Actually, FWIW, I try to always post something when I check my games, even if it's something that doesn't really move the story along. Preferably it does, but if not, hopefully, it'll at least get someone else to post something. There's the sticky thread On PBPs: A General Discussion for all PBPers in the Play-by-post Discussion forum as well. As for my $.02, as a player, I always try to think of what I can post that will possibly move the story along. Sometimes, that's just posting whatever you can (Keliwyn shuffles his feet and readjusts his pack) just to get others posting. The #1 killer of pbp is everyone waiting for someone else to post. So, post early, post often, post whatever. Hey, Soluzar - There's a bunch of us NoVa folks on the boards, so just bump your thread once in awhile, and you'll get some posts. I'm in Arlington near the Falls Church border, and have been thinking about trying to put a group together, but for now life is just to busy, and I need to stick to the pbp games to get my fix. Good luck. I just need to readjust Gareth's stats and equip him, but will do that tonight. Just for my own edification, we have: Ro'an, a mwangi barbarian played by Iron-Dice.
