Batty walks over to the group, Koda in tow.
young ones, i recognize your garb as that of the sensates. I was wondering in your multitude of experiences if you had heard of one, Privet. It is unknown to me if it is a man, thing, or place but it is somewhere here in the pit. For your assistance I will give you some advice. Do your sense searhing elsewhere if you value your life, but if you insist on staying i suggest you stay away from the pretty ladies.

i cant fail dc 12 so this is for finding someone to look at the book. Probably wont bring it to them yet unless i trust them for some odd reason
Batty puts all of cups things in Kodas bag for safekeeping.
well this will be interesting. I havent seen Cregid in some time. Everyone keep their guard up here, wont take much to get yourself strung up and tortured. Dont look too prepared though, they might flock to that. I don't think i know what this Privet is though, sounds like someones name perhaps.
Batty doesn't need anything at the moment. She picks up a few odds and ends for her spell component pouch, mostly things you can find just lying around Sigil. When they arrive at Toes, she tells Koda to remain outside and in the air at a distance. She leaves Bassandra with him in case anything should go wrong.
She doesn't want Tippie getting a whiff of that door knob.
well i must say im dissapointed you cannot help us further. We do know more now than previously however. That is at least something. We can anticipate plants most everywhere we go. Tippe may not know it but it appears he hired us to clean up his mess. Subconciously perhaps...
Batty repeats the process with the pie attempting to yet again snap him out of it.
Good sir, it seems you have some sort of mental block in relation to the facts that could help us. Is there anyway for us to learn more about the Green War and or the plants fighting it without you directly helping us?
Following him out batty speaks softly to him.you are wise to be weary. I am batty perhaps you have heard of me. This here is koda. as they go out the door she bockons koda to follow. I was told to seek you out for information. I do not know if it is safe to speak here the trees may be listening.
If i can find someone to do it quick enough id like to upgrade my headband to +4 int. Not so much for the int but the ranks in umd that come with it. So thats 12000 right there. I think i want a pearl of power level 3 too but i may wait till weve finished this latest key.
Batty is a pro at the old squit eye, especially when it comes to other mages. With detect magic still up she shows Grune how its done.
Perception:1d20 + 17 ⇒ (17) + 17 = 34
im down for a split as well. Ill mention something about it after we leave tippy.
Holding her bag quite formidably batty jingles the contents. so tippy toes, it was a pleasure releaving you of your shinies. I must ask if youve heard of this green war however. Plants seem to be a bit of a problem for us so far. Just wondering if you knew of any connection between these keys and plants. Or if you rather keep some secrets at least if you think there might be a connection. Or if youd rather i just shut up and take your money, im game for that too.. She smiles wryly in that special batty way.

Koda flawlessly dodges the shards of house as he rushes Batty through the portal. Having forgotten to secure herself in Batty is almost dislodged from her seat by shrapnel but manages to keep her composure and not fall from Koda's back. They circle the Knife as everyone else piles through the portal.
Koda takes flight as the roots rip from the ground. He flies towards the Manor and the floor where the portal was. As she looks behind her Batty is chanting arcane words. Koda reaches the walls and she finishes her spell. Strands of web spring into existence lashing the trees roots to it's body. She holds her breath as the tree struggles against the still new and weak webs.
Casting Web. Centered where I put a box. That should include all roots and the monster effectively forcing it to grapple itself according to the spell. DC 17 Reflex to avoid. It can get out on it's turn with a CMB or escape artist at DC 17. Must make a CMB check, or Escape Artist Check every round it tries to move through the webs or become grappled again Same DC 17. Hopefully that will cover our retreat, or buy us some time.
I must say, I approve of our new acquisitions as well. Metalbeard, don't mix your two bags up now. Don't want to be throwing Dung at the enemies, or do you...? Brehna, may I compliment you on your lovely pair...They suit you quite nicely. A shame I won't be able to see you through the fog though. Grune. Troll. Jarun. This will be grand.
I also bought a ring of sustinence, and a pearl of power 2nd level.
So with next level being my first level of Arcane Heirophant a couple of things have occurred to me. First, My familiar is my spellbook. Second My familiar will also be my animal companion soon. I kind of like Koda and Bassandra as separate entities. However I also feel like the idea of having them together is grand. I'm most concerned with loosing my spellbook. Is there a way we could treat Bassandra as a sort of driver of Koda. That way, in the unfortunate event that Koda kicks it, I can still remove Bassandra from him and not loose my entire Spellbook. This is something I hadn't considered as I didn't fully think out using witch instead of wizard for the Arcane side. Thanks for the consideration, I'll respect whatever decision you make.
The tall skinny trenchcoat wearing, dark lipsticked, dark everything looking woman speaks up. When she speaks it is slow drawn out and drab, even compared to the things she speaks of. It seems devoid of fun though occasionally she smiles. It seems out of place and intimidating and you find she looks safer with a straight face. She is very emo girl essentially
Cease with the hero stuff Jarun. Call yourself what you like but Being a hero is too much responsibility for me. Apart from that it's good to meet new people, Names Batty, this here is Koda, she indicates the now decked out Dire bat at her side, and this is Bassandra, my spiritual Guide. She pulls from her trenchcoat a small vampire bat, it regards you both with intelligent eyes, takes flight around you chittering lightly then dissapears under her coat.
Jarun, and Troll it is good to meet you both. As Brehna has stated her skills I guess I might as well join in. I usually avoid conflict if possible and hide behind my lovely meat shield Koda. Koda on the other hand has been practicing biting peoples heads off, and with his new accoutrements, I believe he will be quite good at it. I have some magical skill i suppose, and if you require potions I am quite skilled at concocting what if required.
She pauses for a moment considering a memory.
Thinking of gathering ingredients reminded me of a strange encounter we had in Sigil. we fought strange plant creatures that fought with spores and had flowers for heads. I wonder if this green war has spread even to the city. She will not be pleased if she hears of this.
Before the craftsmen leave Batty stops them to say her thank yous.
Your work is much appreciated not only by me but by Koda. He would like me to tell you thank you. Well technically he said something akin to he will not attack any who resonate your frequency, but the meaning is the same. From me as well a well deserved, thank you.
When we see the king again. Batty has a slight hint of emotion and cheer in her voice, very different from her normal drab and dragging speech.
Your Grace, everything has worked out wonderfully, Your men were effective and kind. I hope your journey is brings you to fine things. I believe I am set to head back to the manor. Though I have not discussed it with my compatriots. What do we think guys.
Your Grace, I do believe I have a problem you could help me with. My dear friend Koda has been growing quickly and will soon outgrow his Saddle. I would be most obliged if you could fit him with some new barding, a Harness, and if possible perhaps some magical improvements to make him stronger. He is my sole protector you see and I fear I have not done much to keep him safe, from lack of proper ability and resources. Whatever you can do would be much appreciated.
Batty graciously accepts the gems when they are handed to her, knowing well to not look inside until in private, lest she reveal that what she received was already apt payment.
I'm pretty much leaving Kodas Harness up to you. My first thoughts were a simple saddle which is relatively cheep, fitted with some mithril for a bit of armor, He doesn't have proficiency so something without ACP, which means likely low AC around 2-4, then if still possible a small strength enhancement. But if you see fit for something else I will very much appreciate your creativity.
Batty looks down at herself in disbeleif then the others. He cant be serious right now is the look she portrays. Unfortunatly she chooses to speak.
Well i'm not so sure about the brave part or perhaps the soul at least as far as im concerned. You best look to your men for those you seek. Many brave ones there whom would risk their life for your daughter. Thats something I would not claim, no offense meant im just like that. Not that we just sat there or anything. I guess what im saying is your welcome.
Batty seems to get tired about halfway through her speach. She seems to just wrap it up as she displays mental tiredness.
Names Batty by the way.
Before Batty starts her makeshift fire, she starts calling out in clicks and chatters, similar to how she speaks to Koda. You can see bats coming to swarm about her. In a round she has a swarm flying about her. She clicks loudly pointing at the beast on the left. The swarm takes off to devour it's prey. She then slowly starts to gather for the fire, clicking and screeching all the way.
Casting Summon Swarm. They will trail the one on the left, they move 40 so this should be easy. They do 1d6/round damage plus wounding for 1 bleed/round. Batty would have done this ASAP and been spending much of her time concentrating on it, so only move actions each round. Her fire would have taken some time this way but the swarm is most important. By my math if batty summons ASAP they will get to the cloaker with 6 rounds, or 120 feet for the cloakers to move, so that's hopefully 6d6 damage before they are in melee, plus 1 extra bleed damage per round, and it will continue bleeding until it can make a dc 10 heal check. I'll just roll that now, but feel free to disregard if you figure something else to happen. I doubt the swarm is big enough to get them both.
Swarm + Bleed Damage:6d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 5, 5, 6, 1, 5) + 6 = 33
