Visited some family tonight, didn't have time to make the full post. Will get it up tomorrow, with the grindylow meeting.

The average shark of its size weighs around 500 pounds, and a heavy load for Ankha's mutagen-enhanced strength is a maximum of 520 pounds.

With some help from the other underwater enthusiasts it doesn't take too much effort to drag it to the surface and get it into the boat. Luckily it can hold the weight, and the group makes it to the shore without any further incident.

Mission accomplished!

Good news! PC is off medical leave and safe and sound back home. Bad news, internet provider is having an outage (that I discovered while writing posts up for my games). I’ll have a post up tomorrow and we’ll get back into the swing of things.

Thank you so much for being patient with me these past few weeks!

Apologies for the Roll20 awkwardness, it is quite hard to use the site on mobile. Hopefully you can see where the shark is clearly!

No this kind of stuff is perfect for character development! My main concern was actually her race being detrimental to “main quest-relevant” NPCs’ relations. Side characters reacting within the bounds of their established character traits is completely fine and wanted.

Besides, I have a spicy response planned for when I get off work (~2 hours) that may or may not involve my Fascinate performance.

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter, even if you don’t celebrate it. Family holidays are always fun.

I’ll be taking my PC back into the shop tomorrow, the overheating/GPU crashing issue hasn’t stopped. I’ll get posts up from my phone, just warning you ahead of time.

I also want to apologize for the slow speed of the game, a lot of personal things have been happening lately. When it rains it truly pours, doesn’t it? But not to worry, we’ll be getting back into full stride soon enough. Thank you for your understanding!

"That's a good idea, I think." she says to Henrika's idea.
If no one objects, Lir will take two of the potions and drink them.

"I find myself missing your infernal companion, actually. It isn't quite the same without her, I will admit." she continues playfully to Xallis.

Just remembered Dakari said he'd be gone until Sunday. Do you want to bot him, someone? Don't want to make the decision for you in this specific fight.

Hey all, apologies for the extended absence. Done with the family stuff, but I had to take my pc to the shop for some GPU crashing issues.

Should have it back by tomorrow, but if I don’t then I’ll make a post on my phone by the end of the day. Thank you so much for your understanding this past week!

Putting replies in spoilers, but just to keep them separate and to keep the post clean. Feel free to read each others' spoilers!

Ku'Hania:
Ku'Hania goes to find Lyra first, but it seems as if the scout has gotten up even earlier than her, and actually isn't even present at the breakfast 'meeting'. Asking around, Ku'Hania learns that she has set out on a scouting mission under Ramona's orders, to hopefully get a better idea of the locale surrounding the colony.

Anya is a different story, and the Shoanti hunter can be found unpacking her gear after breakfast. Seemingly heading out to the forest to help Lyra scout around the colony, but her focus is on fresh game she might be able to trap and butcher to replace the dried meat lost to the cockroach swarm. Braxton's inquiries will lead him to Anya as well, should Ku'Hania wish to speak with the hunter together with her companion.

"What can I help you with, sister?" she says, seemingly having noticed a kinship with the wild sea elf.

Ankha:
The dwarf is very patient with Ankha's excitement, taking it in stride extremely well. The enthusiasm of the young is obviously something she has dealt with for most of her extended life.

"I'm not quite sure, actually. Definitely a topic to dive deeper into. I wonder if there's any creature or substance out here that could accomplish that? I understand how important this is to you, so if you need any help you can always come to me."

Braxton:
Braxton finds both Eamon and Kurvis (the priests of Erastil and Abadar, respectively) in the chapel looking to see what they can do about the church.

"Ah, the chapel's holy bow. It will help immensely in restoring the peace inside the church. We have spent some time communicating with Silas, and are working on a solution to keep it calm for now." Eamon says when given the longbow. "I cannot thank you properly for this as of yet, but give me time and I will find or make you something to repay you for this kindness."

Kurvis laughs and pats the half-elf on the back. "I thought you weren't one for repayment, brother." he says, obviously jokingly.

Later inquiries into who can help with the shark hunting enterprise lead Braxton to Anya, and he might find Ku'Hania speaking to her already.

Dakari:
Ramona thanks you for the wand, saying that Eamon (the cleric of Erastil) can use it. "This will be of great use as we work to find a sustainable source of food. I had heard the first wave had the wand donated, is a wonder it wasn't used much at all. Perhaps no one in the first wave could activate it?"

Carver and Perrell are already discussing much about the island, and Carver in particular takes the opportunity to ask Perrell, Dakari, and anyone else who will listen to bring him information on any historical sites and artifacts they find.

"I'll see what I can do, Carver. Lyra should be back this evening, and might have a wealth of information for both of us to enjoy!" With that, Perrell excuses herself back to her tent in order to review maps and charts, or whatever else it is those scholars do.

With the historian gone, Carver pulls Dakari off to the side, away from the rest of the group and any prying ears.
"I heard you mention the Pathfinder Society. Are you a current acting agent? Or did you just do work for them?"

Night City, the City of Dreams. A gleaming chrome facade of a city hiding a rotting underside.

And also your home. Whether you've grown up on the streets a gutterpunk, always looked down on the rot from the upper echelons of a corpo tower, or are a just recently arrived outsider, you find yourself stuck here. This city has a way of making sure every single one of its citizens are constantly drowning in something. Debt, problems, money, drugs; you name it, Night City has it.

You've been trying to claw your way up that iconic social ladder for years now, and seem to finally have gotten your chance. Your favorite fixer, Vex, hit you up with a big lead. She's been gathering some intel on a Militech truck convoy for a while now, and finally sent you a ping to meet her in the usual spot.

Welcome to Night City, chooms! With the Humble Bundle containing all of Cyberpunk Red's published material, along with finishing the Edgerunners anime and starting the 2077 video game recently, I've been deep diving into the Cyberpunk world.

Is there much interest for a Cyberpunk Red game on the boards? I'm early on in the brainstorming phase, and haven't finished learning the system yet, so it'll probably be a month or two out before I get things settled. Just checking if its worth the effort!

The next morning is full of more rain, unsurprisingly. It always seems to be raining in Ustalav at one place or another. Harrowstone awaits atop the hill once more, a cursed place with two (at least) malevolent spirits.

Kendra has a hard time waking the next morning, and complains of nightmares. She can't remember any specific details, but her father's death features prominently. She has made some toast for you and left some butter and jams out, but quickly retires to her room for more rest before you leave.

Figure I'd give you all a chance to post any morning preparations and some quick RP before we get started again.

"Ah, thank you, at last." Horgus says, obviously exasperated. "I expect it to be picked clean, but I hope it at least still stands."

The ruined roads and destroyed houses get worse and worse in condition as you travel closer to the great rift in the ground opened by the Storm King and his minions. The road is covered in rubble at places and requires expert care when traversing across it.

In an open clearing about a half hour after you leave the library, a group of a half dozen armored crusaders stand around a woman kneeling amongst a pile of rubble from a nearby building. The eyes of the crusaders reflect the burning wreckage nearby with a feverish light, and their faces and armor is covered in ashes.

The group doesn't seem to notice you as you approach, focused on the woman as they are. One of the crusaders, a woman with fresh still bleeding scars across her face, steps forward with her sword drawn.
"Fear not, innocent one. Your sacrifice will aid our defense of this town, and the greater good. I am sorry we have to do this."

Zhandar wrote:

Thanks, GM! :) Let me clarify how these new features would work to make sure I have them right?

1. The druid gets a number of bonus spell slots of the highest spell level she can cast equal to her Wisdom modifier, in which she can prepare concoctions that function like infused extracts and are treated as potions. She regains these spell slots each day like other spell slots, but once prepared the druid can choose to let a concoction persist, continuing to take up the spell slot just like an infused extract until it is used. It takes one minute to prepare a concoction into an empty spell slot. Concoctions must be made of spells on the druid list and must meet the requirements for potions. At 4th level, the druid can make concoctions of any spell she can cast, not just spells on the druid list, as long as they are valid potion spells. At 7th level, she can prepare concoctions of any spell she can cast, even spells that can't normally be made into potions (e.g. spell level 4th or greater, or Personal range).

2. Concoctions can be made using any of the character's druid spell slots, not just the bonus spell slots, as long as the spell level of the concoction is less than or equal to the spell level of the slot. All the other restrictions on concoctions apply. At 4th level, she can prepare concoctions in spell slots of other classes. Concoctions prepared in spell slots belonging to another class use the casting modifier and caster level of that class instead of the druid's.

3. The druid receives Brew Potion as a bonus feat, and she can use Profession (herbalist) as the associated crafting skill. At 7th level she can craft potions of any spells that she can prepare as concoctions.

Is this all right with you, GM? It sounds reasonable to me-- do the other players agree? Does anyone think it is too powerful (or not powerful enough)? If we're all in agreement, I'll add it to my profile so we can reference it later.

Yep, exactly like that. Glad we could come to a balanced agreement that works for what you wanted out of the build!

If the two of you want to RP your arrival at the Lorrimor house to meet Kendra before Park and Rajuna show up to rest once more, feel free to start! However you two want to say you got here is fine with me, whether alone or separate.

eriktd wrote:
If you want more wizard-y options, I still have the character I made for your last recruitment: Zhandar, a druid//magus who plays a lot like an alchemist. She has lots of cure potions from her Druid Herbalism and at level 5 she will be able to throw them to affect her allies or enemies. (At level 7 she will multiclass into cleric, gaining even more spells to make into druid potions.) She also throws spellstriking daggers or Harrow cards. She knew the professor and feels she owes him a debt, which would bring her to Ravengro.

Are you switching your submission to that, then?

I’ll be deciding through the rest of today and announce my selections this evening.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Gonna extend the recruitment to Sunday at midnight CST. I see some people moving builds around and stuff, and I like what I’m seeing and I’d like to see some polished builds.

Remember the connection to Lorrimor is what brought you to Ravengro, so be sure to work that into your character. It’s important for me to understand why you’re here and why you’d join after hearing about what’s going on in the town and Harrowstone.

Thanks!

If I had a nickel for every time a monster has ended up on Lir's head, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice!

Also thanks for reminding me about the HP bar, I fixed it.

As Haplo goes further into the first room and takes a look around, he can clearly see the two grindylow hiding and waiting in one dark corner underwater off to the right in the small chamber. Pulses of danger emanate through the empathic link between him and Ku’Hania.

They do hold spears, but don’t seem to be posing aggressively. In fact, they look like they’re fascinated with the octopus.

Knowledge (dungeoneering), Dakari: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15

Dakari knows enough about grindylow to remember that some tribes of the creatures venerate octopi as revered creatures, with their similarly designed kin being held as the epitome of beauty in grindylow culture. Squids, on the other hand, are hated mortal enemies, and to call a grindylow a squid is the most heinous of insults.

Ah, thank you!

I have learned that you can disable the map grid on Roll20, instead of painstakingly trying to edit every screenshot of a map from the AP pdf to fit on the grid system. It means your icons will be smaller and not always fit the grid on the map, but it makes it a TON easier and quicker for me to get the maps together.

Ankha’s first strike, in retaliation for moving closer to her, misses. Her second one, however, completely guts the fish she attacked open from mouth to tail, killing it instantly.

Braxton’s rapier finishes off the second one, leaving just the one fish left attached to the boat.

Ku’Hania has one action left before the last fish goes, but I wanted to give her the info that two had been killed before she took her turn.

Forgot to give the Roll20 link to Sasha, so here it is! Also putting it up in the campaign details for ease of access.

Also, with Kiley's small bonus on skills, I like handing out small things like that for good roleplay. Don't expect massive skill handouts for every skill any time you talk about one, but when appropriate I enjoy small specific bonuses like that.

All good! Glad to have you back.

I'm going to throw up a map of Kenabres as you see it once you leave the sewers in a link in the campaign description, with all the info left on it. It's easier that way, for me and you. The white dotted line and areas A through H16 is the route you took from the disaster at Armasse all the way under the city to the exit at H16.

There are a number of notable locations lettered on the map, and I'll let you know of the ones you know about:

I: Blackwing Library, where Aravashnial wants to be taken
J: Gwerm Manor, where Horgus demanded to be escorted
K: Tirabade Residence: Anevia's home, wants to go there to check on her wife
L: Topaz Solutions: cultist hideout
M: Nyserian Manor: cultist hideout
N: Tower of Estrod: cultist hideout, password “I’ve new material for the archives”
O: Defender's Heart: the biggest inn in Kenabres before the fall
P: The Grey Garrison: museum that holds a lot of crusader artifacts and relics

Feel free to ask any questions you may have!

Doesn’t look like anyone identified it, but it’s low enough to be pretty easy. It’s a +1 holy reliquary composite longbow (+2 Str). No, not the holy property, it’s a holy reliquary weapon, which means it can function as a holy symbol of Erastil and a weapon at the same time.

The general initial party consensus was to return it to the priest of Erastil you have on your ship, but that can always change.

Been away from my PC until recently, or else I’d have made a combat post by now. Getting one up now!
