Baas. (Male Human Barbarian 5)

Tarren the Dungeon Master wrote:
"I offered you gold!" complains Petrune, his growl turning into a whine. "We can work something out. My employers ..."

"...are dead. Just as you will be soon. Be prepared to join your companions," Baas growls.

He moves towards Petrune, getting ready to smash his overstuffed wizarding brain.

Baas flies into a rage.

Attack & Damage: (1d20+11=18, 2d6+8=15)

Can Baas get to Petrune, or are there still a bunch of zombies in the way? If he can't, he will hit the nearest zombie.

Also, Baas needs healing!

Sykala answers, "We kill Petrune."

Keliwyn nods his head and says, "In for a cooper, in for a gold," and moves up behind the others.

So, uh, how many zombies are there ahead of us?

Through the rolling fog, you can see the shambling figures of two of Petrune's pets. There may be more but you can't see much beyond a few feet. You can hear the slobbering groans of the restless dead and something else besides ... Petrune's low voice speaking in an inhuman tongue.

Beat initiative 7 to act before Petrune.

Is there enough room for some earthbreaker action?

Initiative: (1d20+2=21)

To speed things up a bit, I'm going to ask Baas to give us five attack rolls. I don't want everyone waiting while Baas attacks. Everyone else who wants to do something can tell us their intentions for the five rounds.

The zombie that stumbled forward to replace the fallen zombie misses as he attacks Baas.

New round -- Init. Baas (8); Zombies (5).

Baas slashes away at the zombies, hearing cracking bones and rotting flesh giving way to his handaxe.

Attack & Damage: (1d20+8=18, 1d6+3=8, 1d20+8=21, 1d6+3=9, 1d20+8=21, 1d6+3=7, 1d20+8=10, 1d6+3=4, 1d20+8=16, 1d6+3=5)

That should be four good hits!

Fippin wrote:
I'd be okay with that, but I don't really want Sykala to get herself killed here.

Aw. What about Baas?

Speaking of Baas...

His momentum is barely slowed by the weak flailing of rotting arms, seeing the lack of room to maneuver, he draws a throwing axe, attempting to lodge it in what remains of the zombie's skull.

Attack & Damage: (1d20+8=18, 1d6+3=8)

Baas, who are you charging? Are you attempting to overrun the zombies between you and Petrune or are you charging the zombies?

I believe Baas would be charging the nearest whackable thing, which in this case, would be a zombie.

Ixius wrote:
"I say we leave him to his tunnels."
A fleeting look of hope about leaving the tunnels crosses her face, "No! Not natural." Pointing to the advancing undead, "This make jungle sick. Kill Petrune. Gozreh say."

Baas looks deep into Sykala's eyes. The eyes that seemed so familiar. The eyes that have been haunting his dreams for the weeks since leaving Bloodcove. He smiles. One of the few truly earnest smiles he's made since the death of Amiri. He nods at Sykala, releasing all his frustration and his anguish for the first time in years. Catharsis.

Baas charges, earthbreaker held high; he would be the pride of any Shoanti brave, but most importantly, he is the pride of his sister, Amiri.

Initiative: (1d20+2=8)

Baas. (Male Human Barbarian 5)

Sajan Gadadvara

Baas turns to the group. "Can someone present to me a compelling reason why we should not simply pack up and leave? I am entirely willing to leave this Gods-forsaken jungle once and for all."

His voice lowers to whisper as he continues. "Of course, I am entirely willing to introduce a large, blunt object to Petrune's face as well..."

Baas. (Male Human Barbarian 5)

Sajan Gadadvara

Baas moves to the front of the group. "Truly, you are a fool if you think you can hold Nightfall by yourself. With Aspis gone and an army of elves at your doorstep, I cannot imagine you holding these buildings for more than a week." Baas chuckles. "Of course, what else could be expected from a mage such as yourself."

The last line is spoken with utter derision.

Baas. (Male Human Barbarian 5)

Sajan Gadadvara

OK, I'm having a really hard time visualizing what's going on? Is the whole party together? Are we still in the cramped tunnels? Where are the zombies? How far is Baas from them?

If he can, Baas will move to the front of the group, and wait until the time is right to attack.

The barricade resists at first and then comes loose with a crack. Once the barricade has been moved, Baas sees no reason it should have been so difficult.

Who'd have thought Baas' greatest opposition so far would be some boards nailed together to form a door? :D

Baas moves down the tunnel...

Tarren the Dungeon Master wrote:

No, you do not understand.

I was still editing. Sorry.

Baas attempts to move the boards but they do not budge.

Ah, no worries!

Baas will continued down the tunnel, cautiously.

Baas. (Male Human Barbarian 5)

Baas will proceed through the flap, carefully. Again, ready to act on the chance that he sees any opposition.

To Ixius: "Follow close."

Baas. (Male Human Barbarian 5)

Sajan Gadadvara

Baas will move towards the quivering wall and prod/knock on it to see if it's hollow or there's something hidden behind it.

Ixius wrote:
"What do do you see?" Ixius asks behind him.

Whoops! Forgot Ixius was following! In that case, Baas would have told Ixius what he saw before readying.

Tarren the Dungeon Master wrote:
For a moment Baas is completely confused. There does not seem to be any other entrance or exit from this chamber but then he sees a portion of wall to his left quiver a little.

Not sure what could potentially assail him in this tunnel, Baas gets ready for anything. He leans back on all fours, ready to spring forward and tackle whatever it is that might be quivering behind the wall.

"WHO GOES THERE?!" he shouts as he moves to push against the quivering wall.

Baas. (Male Human Barbarian 5)

Sajan Gadadvara

Covering his nose to avoid the stench, Baas will take a quick look around the room to see if he can find any evidence of Petrune.

Perception: (1d20+8=19)

Baas. (Male Human Barbarian 5)

Sajan Gadadvara

"Agreed. Let's go." Baas starts making his way down the tunnel.

Baas. (Male Human Barbarian 5)

Sajan Gadadvara

Baas slams his earthbreaker into the door, using all his momentum in order to attempt to shatter it.

Damage vs. Door: (2d6+18=22)

Baas. (Male Human Barbarian 5)

Sajan Gadadvara

Already mentally preparing himself to burst through the door, Baas lets out a roar and charges into the building as soon as Keliwyn opens it, ready to srike at Petrune.

Baas. (Male Human Barbarian 5)

Sajan Gadadvara

Following close behind, Baas again exchanges his bow for the earthbreaker. He approaches the group near the closed door.

"Shall I make an entrance?"

Baas. (Male Human Barbarian 5)

Sajan Gadadvara

Baas holsters his earthshaker (the first time in a long time) and draws his longbow, ready to loose towards any enemy he sees, moving out of the cabin at the same time.

I think that works; move to sheath, move 30ft, drawing the longbow as I go.

Baas. (Male Human Barbarian 5)

Sajan Gadadvara

Baas relaxes for the first time in what seems to be an eternity, visibly fatigued and injured. He looks at the others and asks: "Now what?"

Thanks for rolling for me!

Baas. (Male Human Barbarian 5)

Sajan Gadadvara

Smashy-smashy!

Attack & Damage: (1d20+11=19, 2d6+8=13)

Hope this battle ends soon! I'm running low on rage points!

Baas. (Male Human Barbarian 5)

Sajan Gadadvara

Baas does what he does best.

Baas. (Male Human Barbarian 5)

Sajan Gadadvara

Baas' action stands, though he will retract it if the group decides to attempt a more... diplomatic solution to this problem.

Spoiler:
By the way, Esteban? He's comedy gold. :)

Baas. (Male Human Barbarian 5)

Sajan Gadadvara

Waiting until Ixius has unleashed his flames, Baas then moves to the front of the with his hammer held high, ready to ruin the day of any Nightfall guard who gets in his way.

Attack & Damage: (1d20+11=15, 2d6+8=14)

1 Rage point spent.

May be computerless for up to a week (depending on whether or not I can fix my parents' computer), but I'll try to check in as often as possible. Hopefully I'll be able to fix it and there will be no problems.

Baas. (Male Human Barbarian 5)

Sajan Gadadvara

"I'd prefer to avoid going into the tunnels myself, but once we get out there, the entire camp will be upon us. If we decide to do this, we should be prepared."

He doesn't seem entirely disappointed at that prospect.

Baas. (Male Human Barbarian 5)

Sajan Gadadvara

It's clobberin' time! ... Wait, that line has already been used? Damn...

Baas swings again, starting to tire from the continued effort he's been applying.

Sykala sends more lightning after the lone guard on Ixius and then moves up to flank him, "You stay behind, Ixius! Baas! Why we fight? What happen Fip?"

"He's down below! They decided to draw steel against me while I was waiting!" He pauses to look at the pile of corpses near his feet.

"They have found little success."

At this point, the escaping guard with his lowered defenses runs by, giving Baas the opportunity to strike him down.

1d20+11=13, 2d6+8=13

Baas. (Male Human Barbarian 5)

Sajan Gadadvara

Baas winds up for another strike, hoping to eventually demoralize his opponents with his combat prowess. Though he tries not to show it, the pain of their attacks is beginning to get to him.

Attack & Damage: (1d20+11=20, 2d6+8=18)

I'm going to hold off on any more rounds until others can get in here. Keliwyn and Sykala may have gotten up to something. Save this attack for later.

Fair enough. I figured I should do it now while I have the time. Final week of practicum coming up!

Baas. (Male Human Barbarian 5)

Sajan Gadadvara

Pressing the advantage, Baas attempts to attack the guards who are pestering Ixius (though if they are too far away and doing so would provoke an AoO, he stays with the guard he's currently engaged with).

Attack & Damage: (1d20+11=21, 2d6+8=13)

Baas begins to wince from the pain, but seeing Ixius' flames burn at some of his enemies, he decides to press the advantage with another swing.

Baas. (Male Human Barbarian 5)

Barely noticing the prick into his side, Baas still wishes to make an example out of the one guard that managed to hit him. He thrusts his maul into the guard who just hit him, but unfortunately loses his balance as he does so swinging wide (and looking slightly foolish in the process).

Attack & Damage: (1d20+11=12, 2d6+8=16)

Critical... failure. One rage point spent.

Baas. (Male Human Barbarian 5)

Sajan Gadadvara

Not enjoying the fact that he is flanked on all sides, Baas will try to even the odds quickly, attempting to make a strong, deadly strike to give the other warriors something to think about, though he is beginning to get winded from all the continued attacks.

Attack & Damage: (1d20+11=14, 2d6+13=17)

Just you two. If you think it's important, you can tell your friends later. Understand though, I'm breaking the consortium rules by showing you. Follow me."

You don't trust him.

Even not trusting him, Baas will continue to follow, hoping to at least get a clue as to what's going on in the camp. He remains wary for an ambush or any other complications, however.
