Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

Baas glances at Fippin. I think I want to keep an eye on Estaban for a bit. I'll catch up with you soon.

Hello all, I'm sorry I have not been posting. Life is getting in the way of gaming right now. I'm staying behind and hopefully time will open up soon.

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

Baas kneels over the elf he knocked out. This one is still alive. If one of you can speak with him we may be able to get a better understanding of what we are up against.

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

Bass will attack the closest opponent (charging if possible).

Raging Overhand Chop (1d20 10=14, 2d6 11=20) (additional +2 if I can charge).

btw, is the guy I subdued still out?

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

Baas runs out to intercept he elves.

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

What in Abaddon is she doing now? She's going to be the death of me...again.

Baas follows.

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

My internet access is very limited right now, so if someone wants to play me in the meantime, I have no problems with that. I expect you all know the character's motives. Protect Sykala, Keep myself alive, protect everyone else, complain that this was a bad idea, in that order :)

...and my posts keep getting eaten.

Sorry Choul :(

Yeah, I thought Baas was going to run right ahead to that hamstrung guy and take all the damage alone.

I just wanted to pick off someone to interrogate. This is all types of FUBAR. Well, I am at a loss. Better judgement (player and character) says I should retreat...but once you commit to a character concept, I guess you have to follow it through.

Baas yells out in general to his team to try to talk to them and continues "Sykala, get out of there.". In the meantime I ready an action to charge upon anyone who looks to attack Sykala.

GenCon is fab....I'll post something on the discussion thread about it later tonight.

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

ummm. wow. I'd wait to see the map...however I am in Indy for GenCon, so I will probably only be posting late in the evening.

Baas: I'm a bit confused about your post, as you did say you would grab Sykala and attempt to grab cover if possible, which it was. I moved onto the second round. We'll have your charge happen in the second round but allow you the extra attack to make it fair. You still have one attack in round 2.

That was a result of my own confusion...Since I saw Sykala's actions and the intro to round 2 but no adjudication for my actions, I assumed that we were a bit out of initiative order and revamped my action...Sorry.

Sykala, is right let them be." Baas picks up the elf he hammered to ground and retreats slowly, readying himself in case his comrades get into more combat.

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

Round 2: If the elf is still up, I strike him again...also subdual. Where am I and the other elves on the bridge?

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

Baas goes to grab Sykala when he sees her witchcraft warp the wooden weapons. He then musters all his speed to strike down the slowest elf before he escapes.

I am raging with swift foot...charging and using an overhand chop. I am also taking a penalty to do non-lethal damage. If you want me to use the roll I made in the last post, it would be modified to an 18 (+2 charge -4 subdual) and 18 points of damage, otherwise...

Charging, non-lethal, raging, overhand chop (1d20 8=25, 2d6 11=18)

He mutters to himself: "Who's saving who here?"

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

Is there any cover around? If so I grab Sykala and get both of us there.

If not, I rage and run to the closest source of arrows and attack, standing in a position to cleave multiple enemies if possible.

Overhand Chop (1d20 10=20, 2d6 11=18)

In either case I will use my swift foot to gain extra movement if I must, but from the map, I don't think so.

Edit: I am having some issues with the paizo boards now....swallowing half posts and such

Edit 2: Is removing this damn arrow a standard action, move action, free action...or is it like drawing a weapon and I can remove it during a move.

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

Can you describe the gate? Locked? Closed? Material it is made of?

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

Initiative Rolls (1d20 2=4, 1d20 2=17, 1d20 2=19, 1d20 2=21)

Baas staggers back as he is hit by four arrows, he looks back briefly to ensure Sykala is safe. "Get down." He takes a quick assessment of his fellow travelers and then finally lets out a scream of agony.

[ooc[How far away is the source of the arrows? Are they coming from multiple directions or a single source? And to clarify, there were two volleys of six arrows each,[/ooc]

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Baas shakes his head and says to himself "This time she is going to be the death of you." He pushes towards the front next to Choul.

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

I believe nature is neither good nor evil, it transcends such things. It is the structure of the universe we either choose to live in harmony with or not. When nature destroys, it does so to bring an end to disharmony, to lay the groundwork for rebirth...though destructive to those looking at a single event, it is just part of a cycle of renewal...but evil it is not.

If nature was the cause of this, I wonder what disharmony was brought back into balance."

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

Estaban, where is everyone?

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

He moves close to Sykala in a bit of a guardian stance and as he keeps watch over his surroundings, makes deliberate glances at Estaban, if he is present. After he makes a few visual passes, he speaks aloud but to no one in particular

"I told you this journey was folly. I feel a bit irritable. I may have to kill someone soon." He says with a perfectly calm demeanor and no inflection in his voice.

"Sykala, I would be happy if I thought the jungle took back this settlement, but I expect there is something more here. Something that was the result of malicious intent."

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

"I know they're vicious, evil things and that you are going to kill them for me," says Esteban. He orders you to tie the boat behind The River Queen before he stomps back up to the pilothouse.

I would suggest, Estaban, you take greater care as to the direction you bark your orders. I too have lost myself to emotion and lashed out with violence. I would hate for you to regret the pain you caused by your curtness when you later give thought to your actions.

Now, my friend I will be happy to fulfill your request

Baas turns with a smile, perhaps the first anyone has seen from him. It is a bit unsettling as it shapes the skull painted on his face.

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

Estaban, what do you know about the jungle elves that inhabit this region?

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Baas interrupts as he flips through a journal "I think this task is folly. I would much rather be delving through some musty old tome or exploring ancient ruins." He looks at Sykala very deliberately "This situation seems oddly familiar to another that ended......badly. I am only here to keep you alive"

He looks down and continues his reading.

Sykala wrote:

"Not hurt, see more tree monkeys but easy scare now" as Fippin shoots into the trees to scatter them. Sykala looks up at Baal, "Not know word A-n-a-k-a, what is?". Before he is able to answer she takes the bone dagger out, cuts open the snake bite, and sucks out the poison. Which she then binds with moss and leaves.

Baas says nothing and goes to check on the other travelers.

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

Baas watches the serpent slither towards escape and then squashes it.

AoO on the viper. (1d20 10=20, 2d6 11=19)

He turns to Sykala. "Anaka...what else do you" he stops shakes his head and starts over "Sykala, what else do you see? Are you harmed?"

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

Baas arm rears back, ready to make the ketch a little less three-dimensional, when his leg is pierced by sharp fangs.

Fort save vs poison (1d20 9=18)

He gazes with disdain at the serpent and crushes it.

Round four: Raging, Overhand Chop (AoO) (1d20 10=21, 2d6 11=13)

Noticing the Kech attempting to leave, Bass catches him on the backswing Round four attack. Same ole' bash (1d20 10=18, 2d6 11=19)

Round five:
Attacking the viper if it is still alive, if not the escaping kech if he is alive and present, if not, the closest enemy otherwise (I will use another swift foot, if needed to reach them).

Round five raging, running, overhand can of whoop@$$ (1d20 10=23, 2d6 11=19)

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

Round two:
Baas rages and uses his swift foot ability (move 70) and moves to front of the boat. And places himself between any enemies and Sykala. If that is not possible, he flanks and attacks any enemies adjacent to her and if no enemies are next to her, he finds the closest enemy to her. Whatever the case, he appears suddenly and calmly and matter-of-factly whispers to his victim: "I am death" and introduces the victim's heads to his earth breaker

Raging, Overhand Chop (1d20 11=29) actually only 28, wrong modifier

Raging, Overhand Chop damage (2d6 11=17)

Round three:
Raging overhand chop
Round three: Raging, Overhand Chop (1d20 10=14, 2d6 11=17)

If either attack takes an enemy down and I can cleave another enemy...
Just-in case Cleave (1d20 10=18, 2d6 11=14)

These are extraordinary. They remind me of the statues of old Varasia.

"Who was joking?" he groans as he smacks a bug on his neck. "It looks like you beat me again. Another ga.." Baas is interrupted by Fippin's yelling. He hesitates for a moment thinking it could be a joke or jumpiness...but then the potential of a threat becomes a bit more real and he scampers for his weapon and tries to discern where Sykala is.

It is part of core, btw: You may voluntarily add +10 to the indicated DC to craft an item. This allows you to create the item more quickly (since you’ll be multiplying this higher DC by your Craft check result to determine progress). You must decide whether to increase the DC before you make each weekly or daily check.

Day 1 (1d20 7=24, 1d20 7=11) 9 points in th afternoon
Day 2 (1d20 7=16, 1d20 7=23)
Day 3 (1d20 7=15, 1d20 7=23)
Day 4 (1d20 7=15, 1d20 7=18) 2 points in the afternoon
Day 5 (1d20 7=9, 1d20 7=13) 6 points in the morning, 7 in the evening.

I'd let Asmodeus provide me counsel to get out of this bug-infested inferno Baas swears to Keliwyn during a game of Towers.

actually that works out well. I was just popping on after an 18 hour day to say I am going to be tied up for a couple of more days with work.

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

Baas chooses not to play the game. And spends the evening looking out at the view, cleaning his weapons (which does not include Sykala), and being even more distant than usual.

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

Baas runs to the end of the deck where Sykala jumped and holds on to anything that helps him keep his balance and looks out to see if he sees any of his friends.

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

Round four acrobatics check (1d20 9=19)

Baas whispers a curse to himself as he watches Sykala's transformation. Then snaps back to his immediate task. If I can move into a flanking position in a 5 foot step or move action, He will.

Raging, overhand powerful blow with Earthbreaker. (1d20 10=17, 2d6 14=19)

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

Round 3 acrobatics check (1d20 9=13)

I was going to rage and bull rush this one over the side, but I don't think I could avoid an attack AoO and hit the DC, plus I'm not sure it is Baas' style.

Baas grimaces as the creature claws into his chest, then a subtle smile comes across his face. From the corner of his eye he sees Sykala stumble slightly and reflexively starts to steady her but she gets her bearing before he moves.

He looks back at the creature and a calm washes over Baas face as he raises his earthbreaker far over his head and brings it crashing down on the creature in front of him all the while whispering to himself in some strange tongue.

Raging, overhand powerful blow with Earthbreaker. (1d20 10=15, 2d6 14=22)

lousy attack roll

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

four perception checks (1d20 7=22, 1d20 7=8, 1d20 7=18, 1d20 7=19)

four initiative checks (1d20 2=22, 1d20 2=15, 1d20 2=14, 1d20 2=9)

Knowledge (Nature) check to see if I know what these things are. (1d20 9=18)

and

Acrobatics check to stay standing (1d20 9=17)

Will you note the creatures vicinity to me? And what weapons they are carrying.

If my knowledge check fails, I will just rage and do a full power attack, overhand chop on the creature. I just noticed you can do both on an attack at the same time.

If it succeeds, I may do something a bit more creative (bull rush or disarm, to try them out)

Edit: my attack will fail though:

Power overhand chop (1d20 4=6)

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

Baas stays on the main deck and takes in the beauty and savagery of nature. The tossing of the ship seems to exhilarate him and he laughs out, in the first burst of emotion you have seen from him.

six acrobatics checks (1d20 9=15, 1d20 9=23, 1d20 9=28, 1d20 9=21, 1d20 9=26, 1d20 9=26)

Note: You can expect that Baas is usually within eyesight of Sykala while trying to seem interested/busy doing something else. In this case, though, he does seem genuinely distracted.

Ixius is ready to go, but he is wondering how he is going to get his chest full of stuff and his canoe from the market to the boat.

How much does the canoe weigh? If it seems manageable:

Baas lifts the Canoe onto his shoulder and heads towards the boat (or water if it is closer)

if not so manageable:
Baas checks the weight of the canoe and with a slight look of defeat, looks at Ixius "I think we can manage this, get that side."

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

Baas will try to help Sykala find ingredients to make the insect repellent.

Knowledge (Nature) (1d20 9=19)

Knowledge (Nature) (1d20 7=14) oops Survival check

Failing that, he spends the rest of his money on balm (43 doses - He hates the bugs)and 40 more arrows.

"I sense that you're a quiet man, Baas, but we've yet to hear your thoughts at all. Are you interested? Do you have any concerns? I certainly hope you'll be joining us; you more than proved you can handle yourself in combat yesterday."

In a whisper: I must say I have more than had enough of this place and would gladly leave. I do not trust these men either. So while I think your decision to take this mission is folly, I will follow. You seem like good folk and I expect you might be able to utilize my talents.

Sorry for the lack of posting, work is just stupid busy...I expected I would be really slow right now.

Sykala wrote:

To Baas, "Best meat for you." Gives a plate full of steaming meat to him. "Winds whisper everywhere. We all in right place."

Very gracious, but I do not deserve this any more than any of the others who took part

He holds it out to see if anyone wants to share.

Baas stays as long as Sykala does, lingers for a bit longer in case she comes back, then heads to his room. He still hasn't gotten use to the bugs.

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

Baas kneels down to look Fippin face to face with his bloodshot eyes. Thank you my friend. He bows his head slightly and then stands and turns to the rest of the group. I also travel from the north, The Storval by way of Osirion. I was contracted to find a missionary's journal, but after many months, my search is still fruitless. I believe the legends of this book bares no truth as none of my leads bore any semblance to reality, so I am readying my return to Osirion to report on my activities. He pauses briefly

But I may delay my departure if something interesting comes along. He glances at Sykala then turns away.

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

To Sykala: That was quite some magic you wielded. A powerful hunter in your own right, no doubt.

To Flippin: Healer, do you think you might be able to do something with this? He says pointing to the large gash (13hp damage) on his upper arm.

To the Apsis guys: He waits for the others to introduce themselves and to if see one of them takes care of all the introductions. If not, he simply replies: I am Baas.

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

Baas catches his breath finally and admires the nasty gash he received from the beast. And mutters to himself: "Perhaps, I shall learn not to be so careless, next time.

He looks around at the crowd to make sure everyone is alright.

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

Baas ends his rage and will hack it one more time for good measure, remove a claw, and then go check on the body that originally feel to the ground (search take 20) if no one beats him to it. Then goes and grabs his bow and slumps to the ground and rests without a word.

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

Continuing rage and another overhand chop

Another attack against flying beastie. (1d20 10=26, 2d6 10=18)

Sajan Gadadvara

I dropped the one rank of linguistics and added it back to intimidate.

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

Ah, yeah, thanks, wasn't paying enough attention. Trying to catch up with a few available minutes online

Crit Confirmation roll (1d20+10=27).

So potentially 45 points on attack 2. ouch. Too bad I forgot to use my powerful blow ability, that would have netted be 12 more points, but hopefully he will go down

Baas (Male Human Barbarian 4)

Sajan Gadadvara

Baas drops from the window and steps forward to the creature dropping his bow and pulling out his Earth breaker. When the creature comes close he lashes out with two tremendous blows.

Note: Baas is extremely focused and though he is raging from a mechanics perspective, appears perfectly (almost too) calm

Round 2
Drop to the ground (take 10) and get in a good position to watch the flying creature

Round 3
Rage, then make an overhand chop attack with my earth breaker
Attack Roll
Raging overhand chop with Earth breaker (1d20+10=24)

Attack Roll
Raging overhand chop with Earth breaker Attack roll (1d20+10=30)
damage
Raging overhand chop with Earth breaker (2d6+11=15)

-2 to attacks keep forgetting to make that adjustment

Sajan Gadadvara

interesting. Well I finally got my profile reformatted and added a few missing items. Let me know if anything looks wrong.
