Avalerdis exhales like she's been holding her breath. She looks to the others and cautiously steps out the door. "If this works, I'm not sticking around this place."
"And what about you? You brought us here and helped Mord get his vengeance. You helped a hungry spirit kill helpless people even if they weren't innocent. You are an accomplice at best. Or a murderer yourself some could argue."
"And this is justice to you? You killed half a dozen people to find a single person and forced his death. Mord's vengeance has made this place a horror."
Ava is surprised at Eliannador's embrace, but laughs and hugs the woman back, relived herself to be free of the ghost. She turns with the Witch to look at Killian. "You knew this whole time. You were behind this, weren't you?"
"Enough. This is far from proper justice, but Mord isn't giving us much choice. We have to sate his bloodlust, but at least we are confident we have the right person." Ava half-drags and half-carries the struggling Wade out of the room and towards the gallows.
"Well, are we about done? Do we string him up or just deliver him to Mord's spirit?"
Avalerdis steps up behind Wade and grabs his arms to restrain him yet again.
"Wade, we know you have the scar on your face from Mord's wife striking you with the knitting needle. That puts you there that night and all but names you the murderer. Why did you do it?"
"You have the bribe on you, Trabe? Let's see it."
"Fine, I'll honor that. No one in your family except you will feel the effects of your words here."
"You do, sir. But did you freely come back this place? If so, then you've already made a choice to get involved. If not, then you're hand is being forced like ours too. I don't think Mord isn't letting any of us go until the murder of his family is fully revealed. We seem to have the murderer in Wade, but if you have a piece of this puzzle, then it would help all of us if you shared it."
Avalerdis smiles at Chantilly. "A Northman's daughter, truly!" "Trabe, you're coming with us to the courtroom. Sit in silence if you want, but you'll listen to the proceedings. Maybe you'll find something you can add." The Ulfen walks toward the courtroom where they all first appeared.
"Trabe, even if you didn't kill Mord, you had a huge hand in his death. Perhaps you had better tell us what's going on or this may have to get out."
"What does that mean, Trabe? Money? Keeping this whole thing secret? What is going to give you that security?"
"Fair enough, Lao. We should do this right this time." Ava punches Wade in the ribs to keep him from struggling. "You're coming too Trabe."
Avalerdis grabs Wade and drags him away from the door. Then she uses her height to lift him off the floor, denying him any leverage. "The gallows, you said, Witch? We're going to get this sentence of justice right this time."

Avalerdis finally sees action happening. When Wade takes off, she runs after him. As he tries to open the door, the Ulfen woman slams into him , trying to take him down.
"We found the receipt for the necklace you gave Patrissa and the book of debts which had Halgrek's name in it. Plus, we suspect Rekkart was enchanted somehow and Patrissa had some mysterious magical auras. Now it might not be iron clad, but it's very easy to see you blackmailing Halgrek and convincing Patrissa to cast the spell on Rekkart and vote against Mord herself." "That would put 3 votes directly in your control. Hardly impartial."
"So Wade, you worked to stack the jury. Why? Why did you hate Mord so much?"
"What did he mean by your wooing women, Wade?" Avalerdis pauses for a second and then refocuses on him. "Could that be why you attacked Mord's wife? Were you trying to force yourself on her and she fought back?" She looks to Lao. "Does that match your dream?"
"Settle down, both of you." Avalerdis looks threateningly at both men. "Perhaps, Trabe, we should explorer 'your work' in this. And you too, Wade." She nods at Eliannador. "The Witch has a point. Both of you bear responsibility for Mord's death. We could hang you both to quench his hunger for revenge."
"Do you know what's been going on in here? Mord's spirit is killing people. And we know he was framed for the murder!"
Avalerdis pushes herself between the two men, holding her flail and ready to use it. "Who are you and how did you get here?" She whirls around at Killian's mention of their names. "Are you Trabe and Wade? You're at the center of this! What brought you back here?!"
"Well as long as it doesn't paralyze me again, I'm willing to try it." Ava leads the group back downstairs.
"You think returning the axe to it's place above the fire will help, Lao?" Ava shrugs. "I guess it can't hurt. We can try it."
"Let's go to this last room. Maybe it'll solve everything, but I doubt it." Ava leads the way to the last room.
"But no one would have reason to cover up such a wound on Mord's face. He was already accused. So he must not have had one. If he doesn't have it, then he's innocent." Ava pointly remarks to Rekkart.
"Then at least that points again to Mord's innocence." Ava sighs. "Though it doesn't get us any closer to who the real killer is."
Ava walks over to the bed when the hideous act was done. She gently tries to lift some of the debris and mattress to see if anything may have fallen under it during the slaughter.
"Let's see the scene of the crime. That seems to be at the heart of this mystery."
Ava suddenly is able to move and her arm continues it swing into empty air. "What...what happened? Ugh, that was horrific." Ava takes the potion from Magenta and downs it.
Where Halgrek touches Avalerdis, her muscles simply stop. It quickly spreads and she can manage only to say, "What's hap-" before she's completely paralyzed.
Avalerdis continues to swing the flail with wild abandon, trying to hit Patrissa as well as the others.
Avalerdis steps over Madge's corpse and swings the flail in a wide arc again.
Avalerdis leaps onto the table and swings her flail in a wide arc, trying to hit both Ebin and Madge's grotesque corpses. "Release them, Patrissa! This is an abomination!"
Ava joins Eliannador in pounding on the door to the jury room. "Patrissa, open the door!"
