"Yeah, I'll give it a go." he says. "I'm not used to these big bows yet. Mind showing me the ropes when we have time?" he asks Silstaren. "My bow will do for now." Asok steps up to the line with his Shortbow and after a moment and a deep breath, a low growl escapes his throat. The Half-Orc fires off three fast shots, after which he looks slightly drained. Enter controlled rage for +4 Dex
After he sees the results he frowns and sets his bow down before crossing his arms.

Asok emerges from the brush at the edge of the temple's plaza and looks around. "How much more explorin' do we have to do today? If we did what we needed to to do a proper job, then this is a good place to rest, I think." he says, giving Silstaren and Elaine a look. "Some of us took a beating. A little rest will do them good."

"Maybe it was some kind of poetic justice, like he killed somebody's favorite pet bear." Asok growls, still breathing hard. He looks around the area for any signs of tracks and then for a den of any kind. Survival 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

Asok, his eyes reddening and spit flying from his mouth, his tusks bared and muscles bulging, snarls and swings his flail in an overhand blow. Flail, 5ft to flank if not already. 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20

Asok looses an arrow from his hiding place then drops his bow and draws his flail. "How'd that beast sneak up on us!" he growls. Shortbow vs bear 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 He's flat-footed if he didn't know I was there.

"A bear. Excellent." Asok grumbles, and falls back a few steps, letting the others move ahead. When they are a couple meters past him, he moves to the side, towards the treeline. When he reaches the bushes, he slips into the underbrush, trying to move stealthily. Stealth 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Hearing Alkaid's exclamation from the front of the group, he wheels Brand around and gets his shortbow ready. "Are they attacking, Alkaid?" he asks, eyes narrowed as he looks in the direction she indicates. Initiative 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

Asok frowns at Mikka's comment. He grips the haft of his flail and rattles the chain. "I can give you a taste of that life, Mikkah, if you like." he says, turning his head to glare at the man, glancing at Halloran in the process to give him a small sample as well. Asok's eyes are an inhuman orange and red, and his nostrils flare. His teeth are bared and he gives a low growl. "I can't choose a different life now." he says. "That magic's beyond you, Halloran." To Mikka he says, "If you threw away your advantage, you're an even bigger fool." The Half-Orc snorts and begins to lead Brand ahead, away from Mikka and Halloran, saying as he goes. "Best I can hope for, for the future, is to do what I can to make choices more to my benefit, and to make those who wronged me pay."

"Not want a life of aristocracy? They prefer to have that of a slave then, whipped and beaten, barely kept alive for the betterment of their masters? Or that of a homeless urchin on the streets, doing whatever it takes just to live another day? Or that of a peasant, breaking their back like a beast to feed a lord in a castle who takes every last grain in taxes and then conscripts their sons to fight in wars? How can a man possibly leave a life of comfort and privilege and consider themselves grateful to have escaped it when there are multitudes more who have it so much worse and have no such luxury for rejecting their circumstances?" Asok says vehemently. "And do they give away all their riches when they choose this life? It's probably waiting for them when they get tired of entertaining their fantasies of adventure."

"Mikka? Asok says with a snort, then looks around to see if he's close enough to hear him. He lowers his voice. "A man born to privilege and opportunity who chooses this life... I don't deny I dislike the man. You don't choose hardship when you have life handed to you from birth." he grumbles.

Asok has been quiet all this while Sorry guys! I was not getting any updates for some reason... but this day he does go fishing, bringing out a hook and some string. Survival 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14 The Half-Orc comes up with a few more fish, enough for a couple extra people. "Feels good to be out beneath an open sky." he says over the fire that night. The next morning, he seems to have recovered a bit of his outgoing personality. He gives Alkaid an appreciative look after her exercises. "I have to say it is a pleasure to have you traveling with us." he says with a grin.
