Tarren the Dungeon Master wrote: So, who is on the raised dias and who is in the river of gold? As far as I know, Ovirid, Hrokon and I are back at the doorway (and Esteban is close, but he is in the gold). Korian and Ixius at least are on the Dais and I think Sykala is in the sea of gold, but I'm not 100% sure about that. Korian Allande wrote: The young mage translates aloud the ancient Osirion. When finished he asks the group for their ideas on what it might exactly signify. Asim calls back to the young mage, "I am not usually one for solving riddles, but to me it sounds like if you enter the sea of gold and make it to his island, then prepare to die and serve this Pharaoh forever, which to me means as undead. I of course could be misinterpreting the meaning, it would not be the first time." Perception Check on Esteban: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21 Tarren the Dungeon Master wrote: "You just make up laws as you go along, don't you?" smiles Esteban. Asim's scowl does nothing to dampen Esteban's spirits. "Why do I need to make up laws," he says as he looks at Esteban quizzically. "Laws are there to protect us and help us to determine and enforce what is right and wrong. And it would be wrong of me to invent my own laws. So..." he stops as he realizes that Esteban was making fun of him and the scowl once more returns to his face as he grips his Double Axe tighter. OK, I'm so sorry for my absence. I thought I got all of my PbPs when I posted that I would have little to sporadic net access a couple of weeks ago, but going back it seems that I missed this one and I am truly sorry if any of you thought that I had abandoned them. In regards to the treasure split, I noticed that Korian left Asim off the list of what people were taking. The only things that Asim was interested in were the Ankh and the Jade Mantis, although if Sykala wants the Jade Mantis then she is welcome to it, just let me know Dark Arioch. :) Tarren the Dungeon Master wrote: Hrokon looks less impressed. "That looks heavy. You know, I've already got a lot of s@@! to carry, right?" Asim turns to Hrokon when he makes his comments about carrying the gold out and scowls at Esteban's greed. "This gold most certainly does not belong to you, it is the rightful property of The Ruby Prince. The Pathfinder Society will take a tithe for finding it of course, but the bulk will be claimed for Osirion." He looks around the room, wondering if he should go with the others to inspect the sarcophagus, or remain with Esteban and Hrokon in case they try anything with the blindfolded Ovirid. In the end, his mistrust of the two wins out and he stays close to them and the Dwarf.Tarren the Dungeon Master wrote:
I wouldn't mind either/both of these. Also, Asim has only seen one Rune, which was the Rune of Fealty in the weight room. Korian Allande wrote: I think Asim got skipped on that last round? Anyway, if after Asim's action (and AoO?) Scepter is still not down and makes it to the stairs. Not sure if I'm within range for an AoO, although I do have 10' reach now that I'm large. I'll roll just in case. Attack of Oportunity vs. fleeing Scepter: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 24
Tarren the Dungeon Master wrote: I think it would be -4 to attack (-2 for power attack; [ooc]-2 for off-hand). Only half your strength bonus applies so I think the damage would be less. We'll need to check this.[/ooc] I thought that off hand penalties only applied while wielding two weapons (or a double weapon) in an full attack? I thought that as long as you only attacked with one weapon, whether it be part of a full or standard attack it was counted as your primary weapon. It's secondary status was only used (as stated above) when another weapon becomes involved. At least that's how we've always played it. Initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 Seeing the confrontation brewing, Asim begins to move back towards Korian and the Paracount, but before he can get there, Korian fires at the treacherous Chelaxian. Cursing under his breath, he races forward, axe at the ready and growing in size as he goes. By the time he reaches the Paracount he is double the man's size, a huge Axe swinging down in an attempt to take their leader out of the fight. Swift Action: Invoke Ka Stone (enlarge person)
Asim watches the Paracount step by the bleeding form of his ally and scowls. Seeing that Ovirid is helping the man, he walks across to the Paracount and places a hnad on his shoulder, spining the Chelaxian around to face him. "My father is a Black Market dealer and I have seen him do some nasty things, but one thing he would never do is to treat an ally, even one in his employ so callously. 'If you treat them with respect, then they will return that respect and will work better and for less than if you treat them harshly' was something that he would say often to me. I have no idea how you keep the respect of these men, but if I see you falter or hesitate one more time when coming to the aid of any of us, be they your men or ours, then I will use this axe to cleave your head from your skull. Do we understand each other?" Asim stares directly into the the eyes of the Paracount, trying to make the man see that he is deadly serious. Intimidate Check: 1d20 ⇒ 1 *sigh* back to my usual rolling then... :/ "So much for the all powerful Chelaxian," Asim mumbles to Ovirid, before racing over side by side with the Dwarf to attack the swarm of numbers that seems intent on giving Esteban a reverse enema. Attack Pharaoh of Numbers with Double Axe: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32
Asim sees the Paracount standing there as Esteban is cunumed from within and looks horrified. "Are you going to do something man or are you willing to let your aide die to amuse yourself as you did with us?" He is barely able to restrain himself from rushing forward to assist Esteban, no matter what the man's crimes. Delay until next Round to see what the Paracount does. Ovirid Thorvirson wrote: As they leave the room, Ovirid mutters for his allies to hear, "Aye, ye 'ad 'at spell 'andy since ye with'eld it earlier. 'at else 'r ye not lettin' us know, I wonder?" Asim comes up behind the other, sweat on his brow and a smile on his face. "Finally, a battle I could let loose in." Catching ovirid's mutterings, he walks over and whispers, " I too noticed his trickery in waiting to cast his spell. Rest assured friend Dwarf i will not allow that slight to go unpunished adn when the time come he will feel that betrayal most keenly as my axe cleaves him in two."Phew, finally caught up, sorry for my tardiness. And...
I'm probably the one who holds stuff up a lot. There are one or two days when Posting is next to impossible for me and as usual for me stuff always seems to happen in my PbPs on those days... :/ Asim races across the room towards the Radiant Pharaoh, Axe held high as he brings it down in an arc towards her. Attack Radiant Pharaoh with Double Axe: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17
Tarren the Dungeon Master wrote: The radius of the spell is large enough to cover both the alcove with the ladder and the slightly larger room with the sarcophagus, so everyone is subject to this grapple check except those on the ladder. This is going to hurt. And here's me kicking myself for going last and missing all the fun... Tarren the Dungeon Master wrote: Hrokon, Scepter, and the Paracount are unmoved by Asim's insistence that they go first and in unison say, "No, after you." That's two 1's in my last three rolls (in the last half an hour) and the other was only a 9... :/ Asim's eyebrows furrow and he looks like he's not sure what to do. "I will remain then and assist the Half-Orc if you will not go first," he finally decides. Asim looks at the others climbing the ladder and then back at Her Majestrix's Expeditionary, clearly torn as to what to do. Making up his mind, he motions towards the ladder with his Double Axe. "After you. I insist.," he says to both the Paracount and Scepter, trusting Ixius to handle Esteban. "He," he indicates Hrokon, "can remain and deal with the door." The look on his face brokers no argument. Here goes
Initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 Fresh from his bout against the weight, Asim is slower to react than usual. He grabs his Double Axe and brings it around to cover Hrokon, not sure what the Half-Orc will do to aid his master.
Tarren the Dungeon Master wrote: A few good checks should end this. And that's where Online Dice Rollers hatred for me shall be shown in full... Asim sees their side going down and glances across at the other side to see the constructs movements beginning to be hampered by their success. He renews his effort with a small smile on his face. At first his distraction hampers his efforts, but in the end he starts to move them. Strength Check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
hmmm... I think I need to make some more rolls.
Asim's form suddenly shrinks back down to his (still imposing) normal height. He contemplates growing again but holds off for the moment to see if they can do it without expending another use of his ability. Strength Check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Tarren the Dungeon Master wrote: Intimidate? Diplomacy? Well they're both zero modifiers, so they'll both suck just as much with the pure awesome that my rolls have been lately. :/ Asim once more lays a hand on the Half-Orc's chest, but this time he gives a firm push backwards. "I believe I've been doing alright considering we aren't paste on the ceiling, so you can either continue to help or go running back to lay at your master's feet. We certainly don't have time for your idiotic shows odf manliness." Let's try Intimidate: 1d20 ⇒ 18 Asim Attempts to concentrate on the block Korain says has the magic aura. Strength Check: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Asim's eyebrows furrow as he sees the new help their opponent has, but he renews his efforts to drag blocks from the wall with the aid of the others. Strength Check: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Asim stands facing the wall and with an almost imperceptable gleam from the stone in his forehead he grows substantially in height to tower over the others. Getting a good grip on the handles, he pulls with all his might. Invoking the power of his Ka Stone as a Swift Action to activate enlarge person
Asim sees Ovirid looking at the handles in the wall and looks back at the metal and stone man. He glares at Esteban, daring the man to try something, before moving across and trying to help the Dwarf pull on one of the handles. Intimidate Check (on Esteban): 1d20 ⇒ 19

Oh whoops, sorry I did misunderstand. I want want to stay in the room with the others. I thought it was like a block falling to block the room side of the doorway and I was directly under it. Asim turns suddenly as the block thuds into place directly behind him, blocking off any escape he might have needed.
Tarren the Dungeon Master wrote:
Reflex Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13 Asim hears the clicks and looks up in time to see a huge veinstone slab come crashing down above him. He rolls forward to avoid it, but is unfortuantely much too slow.
Asim was near the lift, but came as soon as he heard the battle. He would have arrived just as the others began to kneel, so I would think that he is now in the doorway, looking at the scene before him. Next round once he's figured it all out he'll be kneeling just inside the doorway after glancing over at Korian. I'm so sorry guys. Work has once more been a freakin' nightmare and the last week has seen me totally worn out, to the point where I have been going to bed at the same time as the kids instead of staying up to do my internets. :( Tarren:
Tarren I'm really sorry. I have had far too many absences lately and I apologise. If you want me to drop out then I fully understand.
If however you want me to stay, we can say that Asim stayed at the Golem lift to guard against an ambush from another level while the others explored, but he came running when he heard the sounds of battle to arrive as Ankana is talking to Korian. It's your call and I will abide by your decision. Asim watches the door while the other two examine the ring Ixius found. Upon hearing that it bears one of the Runes, he tells them to wrap it up or destroy the cursed thing, but otherwise continues to watch the door for singns that the liquid has started to seep under the door.
