Liberty's Edge

Due to school, and the PbP's pace, I have to bow out of the game- good luck adventuring, everyone!

Liberty's Edge

Ash sees nothing for it but to try and hit this time...

attack 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
damage 1d8 ⇒ 3

Liberty's Edge

Ash continues her tactic of shooting at the nearest attacking guard, after a string of profanities due to her missed shot.

attack 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
damage 1d8 ⇒ 5

Liberty's Edge

Ash agains attacks the nearest guard with her crossbow.

attack 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
damage 1d8 ⇒ 7

Liberty's Edge

Ash again takes aim and shoots at the nearest guard.

attack 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
attack 1d8 ⇒ 5

Liberty's Edge

Ash loads her crossbow and stands beside Rianna, waiting to see the effect of her speech.

Liberty's Edge

"Not many," she wispers back hurriedly, "but tell me when you want the carnage to start."

Liberty's Edge

"What say you, Skane?" Ash whispers to the northman, really at a loss as to how exactly to capture the guards.

stealth for whatever she decides on doing 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20

Liberty's Edge

"Well, if we're capturing them and no one needs to stay behind, I'll come along." Despite her change of mind, she doesn't seem at all bothered by Skane's remark.

Liberty's Edge

"I can stay here," Ash says hastily.

Liberty's Edge

"Bloodthirsty friends," Ash mutters around her porridge.

Liberty's Edge

Ash pays the toll that the elf and Northman have haggled for, then walks across next to the Bramble Knight.

Liberty's Edge

Ash either makes herself useful or moves off the bridge.

Liberty's Edge

Ash is wondering why Rianna changed her appearance and then announced her real name.

Liberty's Edge

Dieredon D'atarisian wrote:
Ash: I certainly was not attempting to "order" anyone around, or even assume a leadership role. I just happened to be the one who spoke with Aleph, and he instructed me to take others and check it out. Just trying to move things along. Sorry if I offended anyone or stepped on any toes.

No offense taken! Ash was just noting how the roles within their group are falling. You know- social sciences observation.

Liberty's Edge

Ash volunteers to stay behind, following the suggestions/orders of the elf who now seems to be the guards' unspoken leader.

Liberty's Edge

Ash gives Bjorn a blunt stare, and speaks in a stage whisper. "Now, I think we need to focus on our work. Not that I'm usually very focused, but this just might be a life and death situation. I don't think bothering Rianna is a very effective distracting technique, so let's all just prepare for another fight. Oh, and we should probably shut up."

Liberty's Edge

Ash sits farthest to the side, next to Rianna. "So, what prompted you to take up caravan guarding? Seems like something more suited to our big manly Northmen. A reading of the cards? Seems like someone with useful talents (unlike myself), like brewing potions, would choose a more profitable form of employment."

Liberty's Edge

Ash takes out a small parcel of cosmetics and outlines her eyes for the day, using a water barrel as a mirror. Finished, she goes back to sit by the fire. "Brambleknight, the fortune teller is giving a Harrow-card reading for the elf, right? What do you think I'd need to pay to get one myself?"

Liberty's Edge

Ash is still finishing her breakfast, though it's gone cold. Wonder if those northmen will teach me their language, when I'm not busy eating cold breakfast after everyone else has finished... She has already finished creating her extracts for the day. After breakfast, she loads her crossbow and loiters.

Liberty's Edge

"I suggest giving one to the northman- Bjorn's his name? One to Rianna, and one to yourself."

Liberty's Edge

Ash inspects the bloody teethmarks on her leg. "Well, I'll live, but if you happen to have some extra healing it'd be appreciated."

Liberty's Edge

Ash takes the bottles of green fluid and investigates them.

As an alchemists, she can hold them for a round to identify what they are.

"Right, who's watch is it now?"

Liberty's Edge

Ash replaces her bomb, both relieved and a little embarrassed that she had played such a minor part in her first serious combat. "Yeah, we should take their weapons- for safety and because we might as well get something from all this. I don't have rope, but could we please not kill helpless people?"

Liberty's Edge

Ash runs towards the crossbowmen, removing a bomb from her belt.

Since she wouldn't be in range after using a move action, she'll move as far as she can and attack next round.

Liberty's Edge

Ash shoots the nearest dog, only moving closer if necessary.

attack 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
damage 1d8 ⇒ 3

Liberty's Edge

Uh, who's up next?

Liberty's Edge

Again, Ash attempts to dislodge the dog.

attack 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
damage 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

Liberty's Edge

"After I got this cur off me- ow! Why is- ow- the northman naked?"

Liberty's Edge

Ash tries to bash the dog's skull in with her morningstar.

attack 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
damage 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Liberty's Edge

"Holy -, we're under attack!!"

Liberty's Edge

Ash hurriedly retreats to Betony's side, and shoots the nearest feral dog with her crossbow. "Fortunate that this thing was still loaded."

Ash uses a move action to retreat to -7, -A and uses her crossbow...
attack roll
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
damage 1d8 ⇒ 1

Liberty's Edge

I think I'm in a different time zone... Since Ash was just patrolling, she's awake and armed.

Liberty's Edge

Ash loads her crossbow. "Just listen for screams, okay?" She sets off from the camp in a random direction.

Liberty's Edge

Ash makes sure her crossbow is readily at hand, along with her two extracts. "Yeah, I'm ready. Are we patrolling in a group?"

Liberty's Edge

Ash looks up from inspecting a dormant bomb. Not bothering to out away the suspicious-looking item, she smiles politely at the elf. "We were discussing watch, right? I'm- ah- not the most observant person, but I'll sign up for whatever non-taken watch is left over. Do you go to the trouble of catching fresh venison every night? Thanks for the meal tonight."

Liberty's Edge

Spells and equipment are on my character sheet. Heading over to the thread now.

Liberty's Edge

Ash shrugs apologetically. "Sorry, I don't have any drink. I was sort of in a hurry packing- and I didn't want wine mixing with any of my potions. Might make them even more volatile. My full name is Ash Zia Jathal- but you can call me Ash or Zia. Oh, and Sir D'atarisian (may I call you by your first name?), I don't think you offended anyone."

Liberty's Edge

"Wow, quite the bunch of linguists. That or this trip is going to get really confusing," Ash comments to no one in particular in Common as she approaches the campfire, having been attracted by the smell of cooking. Her glance lingers on the tall elf, and she takes a seat the farthest from everyone. Maybe that incident in town will have some nice consequences after all. "Uhm, if anyone was wondering, I speak Common? Nice wolf. When's dinner?"

Liberty's Edge

for stats... 2d3 ⇒ (1, 3) = 4

Liberty's Edge

Finished with the character sheet :). It's on the profile.

Liberty's Edge

Here's the alias. I'll get started on stats.

Liberty's Edge

Ash thanks Marik and Boomer for there hospitality and retires to her wagon for some sleep.

Liberty's Edge

Ash thanks Solomon for the game and retreats to a quiet corner for meditation.

Liberty's Edge

"I would like to play." Ash smiles politely. It's been a while since she's seen such a fine chess set. "I know the rules."

Ash does, but I don't. I hope that's not a problem for what you have in mind.

Liberty's Edge

Ash orders some steak and returns to her table, listening idly to the life about her.

Liberty's Edge

"I have my own wagon." Ash's mood seems lightened a bit at the thought of company on the long road. "I could help if we run into trouble, as the Lady Pharasma sees fit to answer my prayers, though I'm afraid I won't be much help with finances."

Liberty's Edge

Ash hides an amused smile at Samisel's courtly manners, never mind that they aren't directed at her. "When does the... caravan head out (assuming I may tag along)?"

Liberty's Edge

Ash considers the necomer for a moment, trying to place her race.

Liberty's Edge

"I'm traveling to Absalom as well. Since I don't have a set date to get there by, and I don't fancy continuing the rest of the way just by myself and my donkey, without anyone to help unstick my wagon if it gets stuck again, I would like to join the, uh, caravan."
