A must for Pathfinder players.

This book is pure gold. Every page is filled with options for customizing a character to meet very nearly any high or low fantasy archetype imaginable, and very few of them are any less than optimal - no d20 crunch book I have ever read has as many optimized and effective options, and as few ineffective or filler options. The Advanced Player's Guide has content enough that it is worth several times as much as the average d20/OGL book.

The premise is fun and encourages in-character, attention-grabbing roleplaying, there's a lot of tasty foreshadowing towards the final adventure of the Kingmaker path, and the Mass Combat rules are awesome, almost worth the price of entry on their own.

Excellent!

On the one hand, the compression was a bit much. I was worried about whether or not the t-shirt would ever be wearable because of all of the wrinkles and creases. I put it through the laundry once before wearing, and after one trip through wash and dry, it had smoothed out enough to be wearable in public.

After getting past the compression, the shirt is really nice and comfortable, if a bit small - and I'm a really small guy. A medium barely fit me.

Also, love the color scheme. Positively diabolical. I hope I get to strike fear into many weak and frail hearts.

Devious and fun!

I played this scenario at Origins 2010 and had an absolute blast! There are some wonderful opportunities for great roleplaying, hilarity, and some truly tense and exciting combat, even at 1st level. It was my third PFS game ever. I hope to one day introduce players to PFS with this awesome scenario.

An excellent tool for the improv-impaired

I just downloaded the PDF of the Gamemastery Guide about an hour ago, and I'm thrilled. The tables, both random and non-random, are excellent. To me, they feel far more inspired than similar products I have seen in the past. Between the tables and the NPC gallery, I think I may start using this book as an argument against those who insist that d20 demands too much preparation time. My only complaint about the tables is that some of the entries are so narrow or specific that it would be hard to roll those entries twice and not have the exact same scenario, but that isn't true of the majority of the random table entries.

I also find that the advice is well-considered and practical. The basic "dirty tricks" players will use against a GM are already predicted and accounted for. No book I've ever read before suggested things like the best workarounds against mystery-ruining divinations, which, as a younger GM playing 3.5, I struggled with for session after session.

The NPC Gallery is fantastic, covering almost any need for a stock NPC. The only complaint I have, honestly, is that there was no high-level Wizard stat block. I think the characters in that NPC gallery could cover almost anything else I would ever need.

Unquestionably worth the PDF price, and I'm seriously considering the print version.
