If a character has an ability to change size and gets the adjustments to the physical stats as such is there a minimum that the scores can reach? For example: A human with an 8 strength becomes diminutive and thus takes a -10 to strength. Would this bring it to -2 and thus unable to act, or is there minimum it would stop at? I'm working on compiling a list of advice for what to do when prepping for a game. I've got a few categories that I'm trying to fill. A) As a GM running modules or adventure paths (basically any adventure you did not write yourself) B) As a GM running in an established setting, but writing the adventure yourself. C) As a GM running in a homebrew setting and finally D) As a Player. Thanks for any help,
My order finally arrived after a mess up in UPS tracking, but unfortunately my copy of Tome of Horrors Complete was scratched up pretty bad on the back cover. Here's a scan of the back cover (its high res so you'll have to zoom in a couple times) but you can see the marks along the time and down the right side of the image. Thanks for any assistance, Andrew Betts Just announced today. Secrets, Like Dragons is a kickstarter novella project to be published by Steven Schend (Forgotten Realms lore, Marvel Superheroes). The collection will feature the talents of Ed Greenwood (creator of the Forgotten Realms), Jaleigh Johnson (The Howeling Delve, Mistshore), Rosemary Jones (Crypt of the Morning Diamond, City of the Dead), and J.M. Martin (former managing editor of Privateer Press). It looks to be a great collection and I can't wait to see it reach its goal. You can find out more here:
So I discovered this show flipping through the channels the other day when I saw a giant slimy green cube moving through a hallway and dissolving a person and leaving behind his keys. The cube was actually called a Gelatinous Cube. Today I checked it out and there was a Wraith, but when trying to figure out what it was (before they saw it) they said it was either an Illithid or a Mindflayer. The episode right now has them being attacked by a Dryad. It is a kids show put out by Nickelodeon and is amusing at times, not the best of shows but I figured I'd toss it out here in case anyone was interested. I just ordered "The Witchwar Legacy" and was hoping to ship with my next subscription shipment, which I understand should start this next week. But I believe since my account has already been authorized it went to my October shipment. Would it be possible to get it moved to the September order (assuming the label hasn't already printed and such)? Thanks a lot Cosmo. Andrew As Heighten Spell does not list anything about how it adjusts the level of the spell, what would the effective spell level of a Maximized, Empowered, Heightened Fireball. It would use a 9th level slot, but should only be a 4th level spell how I see it, although I've heard arguments that because it's Heightened it is now a 9th level spell and its DCs are adjusted as such. I'm big into using music in my games and I've started working on organizing songs to work on lists of music, playlists suggestions, etc and I've created a form to help get more ideas for songs. If anyone would like to participate please feel free to enter your suggestions in the form. Thanks, Andrew I have the blog on my RSS reader and just noticed today that clickable images all seem to have &source=rss appended after every file name so they can be clicked on but sends me to a "page not found" page. http://paizo.com/image/content/Kingmaker/PZO9032-Building.jpg&source=rs s is the image from today's blog. Not sure if it's just the nature of the feed or if it was just not noticed, but thought I'd point it out. Andrew PRD wrote: Benefit: Whenever you use feint to cause an opponent to lose his Dexterity bonus, he loses that bonus until the beginning of your next turn, in addition to losing his Dexterity bonus against your next attack. There's been discussion here, does this only apply to the character that did the feint or to every character to attack the target? I was just looking at my pre-orders for the PFRPG and noticed that the 2 pre-order copies say they are 42.49 (priced for Pathfinder Advantage) but the subscription copy still says 49.99. I just wanted to make sure it's priced right just in case there was a gremlin in the system when the order was placed. Thanks,
Friday I signed up for the PFRPG subscription. I noticed that I did not have the core book actually in my Subscription page. Today I ordered 3 additional copies to be sent with my subscription and those 3 show up on the subscription page, but not the one that should have been there with the subscription. Andrew I know this is a long time ago, but I was just noticing as part of my charter subscription I was sent a non-mint copy of PF#1. When I got it I was very upset at the post office for a huge crease I had in my cover, but it seems it's likely from this. Just wondering if it's often that subscriptions get the non-mint copies? Thanks,
I'm currently running Second Darkness and my players came to an interesting stop last session. I now find myself not having any ideas for flow or even how to get the next session going. Now I'm not sure if I should just call the session and play games or try to do something that I'm not sure my heart will be in getting them to their place. Blackstaff Tower
Right now I sit at my in-laws. It is 10PM CST and I have just set down Blackstaff Tower, finishing it's Epilogue with a great smile on my face. This book and Mistshore by Jayleigh Johnson are the first books to give us an inside view of Waterdeep -- The City of Spenldors, as it appears in the 4th Edition of Dungeons and Dragons. Now I hope that last statement does not turn anyone off to this wonderful tale. Whether you love or hate the changes to D&D or the Forgotten Realms, this book is well worth reading. After the shock that hit me during the Prologue it was actually about two days before I was able to move onto Chapter One (but for that I do truly blame work). I fell in love with Renaer Neverember. He reminded me of me, which one always sees as a positive when picking up a new book. Renaer likes to know things, he researches, he collects, but in the end it's all about the knowledge and its what makes a difference. Now for those who are coming in fresh, Khelben Arunsun is dead. He died in the year 1374 - The Year of Lightning Storms while participating in a ritual of high magic to bring about the City of Hope -- Rhymanthiin. Upon his death, Tsarra Chaadren took up the mantle of the Blackstaff leading us into the whirlwind that begins this book. I'll avoid the history lesson further (while I may post some later) except to say at the beginning of the book, Samark Dhanzscul is the fifth to hold the title of Blackstaff. I went into reading this book sitting of the opinion that I was reading it purely for information ... I had no interest whatsoever in what has happened to the Realms. I was expecting the same rich and informative writing that Steven has brought to us in his previous novel (Blackstaff) and his other game materials. I went into this book hoping to see the history of Tsarra Chaadren. Well what can I say except that I was thrown for a loop. Steven has continued to impress me with his fiction writing (as opposed to game writing -- which tends to blur together at times). His references to minor characters of the Realms' past have always driven me to research ... I like knowing what I'm reading about, and this book was no exception. How many people can make me constantly wonder about a penguin? As for information on Tsarra? It's there, but as I previously mentioned the book begins with the fifth Blackstaff ... it was a small shock to me, but knowing how some things have been torn apart recently it wasn't completely unexpected. The fact that her history was still gotten across decently with her being deceased for such a long time was impressive. Now I get back to my previous mentioning about the Forgotten Realms of 4th Edition Dungeons and Dragons. I had no interest in it, and still have very minor interests. Upon finishing this book, not only do I want to do some research on some of the mentioned characters, but I want to dive straight into Misthore, re-read this book, and am seriously considering checking out the rest of the "Ed Greenwood presents Waterdeep" series. My only complaint on this book is it seems too short. It's wet my appetite and I want more. The characters were all intriguing and I would love to see Steven write more about them. They are far too interesting to be left alone. I give this book a 5 out of 5. It is by far one of the best pieces of fiction that was not a sequel that I have read this year. It also includes something unseen in most current fantasy books ... a Glossary. Bravo Steven! As Ed Greenwood says in his introduction -- "I couldn't wait to read it the first time through -- and when I was done, I couldn't wait to read it again." Hi, I placed an order on Aug 7 and I just wanted to check the status. I see it as pending, but I've seen note that people who placed orders after mine have already shipped. Just wanted to see if it's just because it's the time of GenCon or because it had the Beta in it (3 copies actually :-) ) Just thought I'd check. Thanks,
I'm currently planning to sit down tonight with my copy of "Shadow in the Sky" and start working out some music/sound effect ideas. If anyone would like to join in with some ideas, feel free to post. I guess the easiest way to keep it clear would be to reference a page number, encounter, NPC, situation and toss the song with the album, artist, and title. So last night I was running my RotRL game that I started back in December and up waking finding the Revenent, the party followed her blindly, and I let that happen, but I kept track of everything they came across and by the time they made it to the Skinsaw Man, they had about 15 ghouls of various forms chasing them. All the ghouls won initiative (never rolled lower than a 17) and the cleric was in the rear and failed his fort save against the paralysis, eventually everyone but the elf did, but she was the sorceror and died of a couple of crits. They admitted it was their own fault for not paying attention, but I was quite amused. Well I'm looking to make some slip cases for my Pathfinders, by AP. The problem is I'm not home and won't be home for about a week and I have access to equipment (and free time) here. So my question is, could anyone take the time to stack an AP and give me a LxWxH measurement, in which scale you find to be the most accurate (although we could stick with metric and imperial that'd probably be easiest). I hope when I get this all done I can post some instructions. Thanks,
I've had this idea going through my head since A2 was released and just finished it up. Chaos Your being is filled with the natural chaos that spun the world. Class Skill: Knowledge (the planes) Bonus Spells:
