Quick other questions which has not been raised so far....

why has there been a deviation from the normal PFRPG standards with medium BAB classes having D8 hitdice ...

Thanks in anticipation

I had the same question, any word Steve?

If you do a search there's an excel spreadsheet somewhere down the forums, its pretty nice. I don't have the link handy right now.

The picture book looks nice, but I'm pretty sure a number of those images are not part of the CUP.

Looks fine in Chrome

Paizo's Community Use policy forbids the replication, modification, and posting of any artwork they have not yet posted to their site. So, while the images of the castaways are ok to use I don't think you're allowed to use their map of the Shiv.

What are your thoughts on how to handle a map for a PbP?

I appreciate the communities response to keep us within the legal boundaries here, and good catch to Tom Qadim and masshysteria!

You could always use a service like Picasa and set specific users to be able to view the images.

Gary has said he's doing some major work on the boards right now with the hopes to roll the changes as early as this next week (but not necessarily).

Sans innards? Ow

as most of the images are not part of the CUP you won't find anything that's not on the blog. If you have the PDF you can extra the images easily with Acrobat Reader 8.

Is the Paizo logo intended to look like the letter pi?

Well Paizo is a greek word: παίζω

hmm I should probably get mine finished

Received. Thanks HMSSM

Andrew

Could I get my replacement book that's sitting in my sidecart shipped with this order please?

Thanks,

Andrew

Just an aside, has anyone watched the show Leverage? This last Sunday two of the main characters (Elliot and Hardison) walked into a police station and announced they were Detectives Moffat and Davies. Just one of several Dr. Who references that have been made on the show. I chuckle every time I catch one of them.

I definitely caught it, although I think my favorite Doctor Who reference was Tom and Sarah Jane Baker in the first season.

The dots and the x new posts is run on a different server (if I remember what Gary has said before) and sometimes they hiccup or need to be restarted and it causes the dots to disappear. They start coming back slowly, but they usually all come back.

Its been said there are no immediate plans for reprinting the older APs at this time

Its a widely known issue. Apple (as well as many others) still use an out of date rendering library. Its something Apple needs to fix.

Ah I still think it kinda looks like THIS

But I can see they're not quite as hi tech as Amiri.

HERE

Just ignore the haters near the bottom.

They've said ePub is in the works.

I noticed the APs started seeming floppier starting with LoF. In fact I brought this up back then. I can hold and AP book before it up next to it and one stays rigid, the others sags. Its not a big deal, I was just surprised all that time ago.

I think there's one in the Advanced Bestiary as well

Were these girls inspired by the Devo video "We're through being cool?" for their costumes?

Kinda looks like the "Spacegirl" Amiri from the GMG

Its really too bad at that, at leas they're going to work parts of Wave into other Apps

O.O

I received a copy of "Before They Were Giants" instead of "Prince of Wolves"

Thanks HMSSM or Cosmo

Andrew

Wasn't the street date the 3rd?

Nope, August 5th ... Thursday ... tomorrow

It's going February to July. That's one of the underlying constants of the universe—Paizo APs start in February and August.

Ah ok, I was just commenting because those were the months listed for release.

Small note that those will be 3.5 stats and not PRPG stats

That I know, and its not actually using Apple's libraries per se its multiple places (including Apple and Google) using an OSS library and not using the one with the fix in place.

Looks like this AP is going Jan - Jun instead of Feb - July

There's also the Google Docs viewer which I've discovered to be the fastest viewer once the file loads ... but that one does have the missing A problem as well.

You'd have to cancel and then resubscribe. Its like having a subscription to a magazine, you're assumed to get every issue unless you cancel.

Have you tried just extracting the map with Acrobat Reader 8? Just select the image and then drag it to your desktop. The maps are usually not flattened so when you pull the image the labels stay behind.

I've noticed some posts that appear in certain forums are not able to be flagged, when many of these are questions asked all the time (Like Apple PDFs not showing A's, etc) I've tried flagging them, but there is no option to, unless this is for rules only in which case I could see that that wouldn't fix the problem.

Apple needs to use a different library. I believe the current one is poppler 0.14

If you look through the boards its been mentioned and discussed a number of times, even in the past week. The best solution most can do on that platform is use Adobe's reader until Apple does something about it.

Its a known problem. Its on Apple's end.

not that any of use can do. Apple needs to fix it if you want to use Preview or else you have to use Adobe's Reader. Its a widely known problem if you look around the boards a little, its all over the place.

As I've told others ... if you don't like it don't play. No one is forcing you to use any of the classes.

We're all on the same page here...

YAY!

I don't think the GMG is going to be, but they've said others are more than welcome to do the open content. APG might be, but I always thought the PRD was just going to be the Core stuff

Yeah the kindle works horrible for gaming books. Now Prince of Wolves on the other hand ... well I'm having to hand convert it, but it'll look nice.
The Kindle lets you access non-Amazon ePubs, right? If so, I wouldn't spend too much time on your conversion—we intend to have ePub editions of our Pathfinder Tales novels available in the very near future.

Well it has to be converted and if there's DRM there's a bigger issue

EDIT:
Also the Kindle's native format is AZW for files from Amazon. It can also read PRC/Mobi files that can be created with MobiCreator for MobiPocket devices. Text files also work.

It would be great to see the various formats offered as directly purchasable from here instead of having to go buy them from elsewhere. (And maybe an option for subscribers to get a different format instead of PDF when needed)

well standard action if they're running around without pants/pants around ankles. Full round if they have to drop them. Unless they remove their pants they're going to be able to move 5' and need to make a balance check or fall prone. Oh and Attacks of Opportunity all around

Also ... think they take damage from salt water

Yeah the kindle works horrible for gaming books. Now Prince of Wolves on the other hand ... well I'm having to hand convert it, but it'll look nice.

You don't need to personalize anymore. Gary did a lot of work yesterday and now just has the cosmetics of that line to take care of. Just click the product you want and it should come up.
