Quick question on shipping though ...

I went to order the screen but the cheapest shipping method is almost $10? That seems pretty high considering the screen itself has to weigh next to nothing and is only $15.00.

I'm not complaining - Paizo makes AMAZING stuff and I plan to get this screen. It just looks like I might need to reconsider how I get it ...

Ugh... the phasm is my LEAST favorite monster in the entire 3.5 SRD, actually. It's a non-monster, basically; has no real abilities of its own except the ability to turn into another monster. Just use the other monster and cut out the middleman!

The Familiar section in the Wizard description states:

If a familiar is lost or dies, it can be replaced 1 week later through a specialized ritual that costs 200 gp per wizard level. The ritual takes 8 hours to complete.

The Improved Familiar feat states:

This feat allows you to acquire a powerful familiar, but only when you could normally acquire a new familiar.

So are you only allowed to acquire a familiar with this feat when your existing familiar is lost or dies? Or can you just acquire one with this feat at 3rd, 5th, or 7th level? Do you have to "lose" your familiar on purpose?

I've never had a problem with Staples and if you submit it online and pick it up in the store you usually get a better price.

At least in my copy of the downloaded pdf version, the 'a' in oracle does not appear in the title for the class description.

I might also suggest putting "waves" in quotes when using it as a sample focus in the focus section. It made me stumble a bit when reading it. I know this is supposed to be play test... but I can't help myself.

I do believe the viper is actually under familiars. That's what was used when we created the stat block for the summoned viper at the d20pfsrd.

For Monks, what's the point of using Monk weapons? The unarmed attacks will yield more damage in the end, otherwise they are equal with the weapons. Shouldn't the monk get some bonus dmg when using monk weapons?

My group will be moving to Pathfinder in the next weeks. We're leaving away the 4E for reasons I'll keep for myself. So, as the DM, I bought the Pathfinder Core Rulebook and the first two modules of "the council of thieves" adventure path.

The question I have is where do I find the stats for the different "monsters/Animals" the summons spells can conjure?

You have to stay away from that site, they have a ton of stuff not in the SRD that either comes from them taking closed content or maybe even their own house rules interpretations.

There may well be stuff that's not in the SRD (like the Unearthed Arcana material), but I'm pretty sure that Jans tries to steer away from Closed Content. Do you have any other examples?

Community Domain, pg. 42: the domain spell list is the one from 3.0, not 3.5. In 3.5 the spell Status went from 4th level to 2nd level (normally), and in the Community domain it moved from 4th to 2nd (displacing Shield Other), with "Status, Greater" taking the 4th place slot.

It may not be an error to omit that spell, as greater status is very powerful - allowing certain spells up to 2nd level (including cures) to be cast through the link, with no range limit.

However Status (2nd level) should *not* be a 4th level domain spell - that makes no sense at all.

While I do agree that I'm not sure "status" as a 4th level domain spell fits, I do not believe the others are options.

I believe it would recall the metamagic version of the spell because it merely restores the slot that was used. I could be wrong though.

I think they're just grouped by page number. You can always rename 'em so that the make sense to you. :)

Sorry, I need to clarify. My issue with the "balance" is simply that one pc in my game draws fewer cards with weaker effects. That's not the result he would have without the cards.

He's a good sport about it, but as gm, I want my game to be fair. That is all "balance" means to me in this context. Thanks for listening!

I guess I didn't comment because I thought it was really obvious. I finally got to play again after moving, made it through story mode for a second time (well almost, there are still 2 songs left)

In the current game I'm playing in we got bored and figured out what the point buy was worth for starting stats (this was about 6 months after the fact) I found out my character "spent" 11 points. Everyone else "spent" into the 20's and even one person "spent" over 40. Sadly everyone's rolls were witnessed by everyone.

What about the 10 different versions of the Tiefling in PF25?

P.114 - Combat casting feat - "+4 bonus on spellcraft checks for defensive casting"
P.203 - "Distracting Spellcasters:If you damage the spellcaster, she may lose the spell she was trying to cast (as determined by her ppellcraft check result).

But there is no mention of concentration checks in the spellcraft skill description, nor does the combat casting feat description mention spellcraft, and on pages 206-207 it's stated that concentration checks are d20 + caster level + relevant ability modifier...

So, caster level or spellcraft?

If I scribe a summon monster scroll and I cast a spell that I scribed, do my summoned creatures get modified by my characters' Augment Summoning, or do they only affect spells that I cast? (I assume that they would not affect items created by another caster - like a wand of summon monster or a found scroll).

The book states that caster level is usually the same as spell casting class level. What are the exceptions?

Greater Trip returns the Spiked Chain to notoriety, by allowing everyone adjacent to the target a free attack when you successfully trip them.

By making it a non-reach weapon, it balances that nicety a bit imho.

I am creating a character for my 6 year old daughter and she wants to be an elf. I was going to let her elf be about 15 or 20 so I was going to make her character small. Would the base speed being reduced and the -1 on CMB and CMD be enough of a penalty to off set the +1 to attack and AC?

I'm finding out that Amazon is not allowed to ship until Sept 2nd by Paizo. That really bites that Paizo has released the hardcover on Aug 13th, but Amazon is not allowed to release until Sept 2nd. At $65 for the Core Rulebook and Bestiary, I guess I cannot complain.

It's not a file that uses the personalizer. No one else has this problem I guess, so it must be some quirk of my system. Maybe I can get someone to send it to me unzipped.

But nowhere does it say all opponents and that means it would count for attacks of opportunity as well.

Benefit: Whenever you use feint to cause an opponent to lose his Dexterity bonus, he loses that bonus until the beginning of your next turn, in addition to losing his Dexterity bonus against your next attack.

I can't wait to get mine.
