Background:
Ammian was born in a small village next to Riddleport. His father was the village's smith, but he died from a disease when Ammian was a young child. Ammian's mother was a poor farmer, who had three other children and had to work very hard to provide for them all. Ammian soon grew stronger and taller than most of the other kids in the village, and would use his advantage to bully some of the other kids. When he was old enough, disregarding his mother's objections, he started training with his father's best sword. Together with his strength, he became more than a match for anyone else in his small village. He used to talk with the guards who accompanied the traders who visited his village every couple of months, and decided that the world had more to offer him than his home.
Ammian was hired as a guard for one of the trade caravans soon afterwards, and started hiring his sword and life to whoever would pay the most. As such a sell-sword, after being hired as a guard by several merchants and nobles, he served in a few mercenary units in different armies, where he realized that such organized warfare was not suited for him, mainly because his lack of discipline. Instead, he sold his services for more specialized jobs, such as intimidating others for debts or information, serving as a bodyguard to underworld bosses and so on.
Ammian's dream is to become a lesser noble of some sort, and while looking for opportunities his main goal is to get as rich as possible. he has no real friends, only temporal allies who he leaves, or even turns against, as soon as some offers him more. That being said, he does have a sense of loyalty, but only to the highest bidder. Joining the group was just another step in his path, and he doesn't feel obliged to maintain their interests if he doesn't get paid enough.
