"Duh pihhhkaak ahh berry guhh," Mitnal says with a mouthful of food. He's about to add that, while they taste delicious with their precocious hint of peppery herbgrass, their presentation may be offensive to the totem spirit of the Great-Ocean-Mother-Fish whose eggs are as numerous in the ocean as stars are in the skies but thinks he shouldn't risk it before he swallows.

A voice speaks from behind Mitnal.

"Would you care to try some curried salmon? I've brought a plate with me. Specially prepared. There's even enough for Gengar, if he still has an appetite left after that skewer."

"Well..." Shantare thinks for a moment, then decides that saving a little money would be best, even if she had to share a room. "I suppose I could share a room with you, if we wouldn't be too crowded." She says uncertainly.

"No need to worry about that. I'm sure we can find ample quarters to fit you both. Follow me and I'll get you checked in."

Ameiko puts the two of you in one of her larger rooms on the third floor. It's actually a small suite, with a sitting room and a bedroom, both comfortably appointed with hand crafted Varisian furniture. The suite is in the southwest corner of the building, with a window in the sitting room that looks south toward the shipyard, and a window in the bedroom that looks west toward the market and the sea.

"There's only one bed, but it's a big one. I can send up an extra sleeping mat, if you'd prefer, but I thought I'd put you in here, to give you both enough space. Supper is at six bells. Tales and song after."

"If she will allow tales that we have not personally experienced I have one as well. It is a tale that I heard last summer in Galduria and would repeat. I believe that in the evening, one may tell their tales to the guests of the Rusty Dragon but I am not sure. If that is so, perhaps we can both take a turn," says Mitnal.

"I do indeed allow my guest to share tales of adventure in the evenings, as you well know, Mitnal," says a voice from behind you.

The woman standing behind Mitnal surveys the table with a welcoming smile. Her delicate features give her face an ageless, youthful quality, but something about her iridescent, hazel eyes speaks of weary experience. She wears a colorful Varisian top that liberally exposes her tattoo covered shoulders and cleavage, and her jet black hair is pulled into a tight braid.

"Well met, friends, and welcome to the Rusty Dragon. My name is Ameiko."

Kynni appears from the kitchen and places a set of fine glass cups on the table, as well as a pair of tea cups and saucers in front of Mitnal and Kinmorn.

"I think you'll find you've made an excellent choice, Gengar. I thought of you when I purchased it yesterday. I'm glad to see it will be making its way into your gullet." Ameiko uncorks a bottle of wine and begins pouring the fragrant red liquid into the glasses. As she does, Kynni returns with a small brass pot, and pours the contents into the tea cups.

"As Mitnal mentioned, I do allow my guests to share stories of adventure in the evenings, after supper, true, embellished, or otherwise. I even share my own tales and songs. All anyone who wishes to share a story need do is speak up." Her last sentence seems directed at Mitnal in particular.
