I give up. It's here somewhere

(m other rogue/bard/ranger 1/2/1)

I hate when links attack!! f%^&in technology!!

(m other rogue/bard/ranger 1/2/1)

my bad...the Players guide was a free PDF a while ago it may be a small sum by now...it definately whets the appetite! I wanted to get the map set, because I love maps but my RotRL DM said it has spoilers for that campaign so alas! I have to suffer. But the players guide should be here somewhere... http://paizo.com/store/games/roleplayingGames/p/pathfinder/v5748btpy7xpx there it's 2 bucks! Well worth it!

(m other rogue/bard/ranger 1/2/1)

I believe it is Chelaxian

(m other rogue/bard/ranger 1/2/1)

This party was destined to have a Barbarian.

(m other rogue/bard/ranger 1/2/1)

work sucks....but it pays the exorbitant cost of buying thousands of WOTC products...grown up things suck but they're better than the alternative

(m other rogue/bard/ranger 1/2/1)

Yeah...hmmmn, Ya know after switching from half-orc the stats were flying fast and furious..good catch! you all can look at the spoilers if you want, originally, I wasn't even putting them in till I saw one of your guys sheets It's pretty convenient to be able to pop up what you need (specially for the DM)

(m other rogue/bard/ranger 1/2/1)

The delivering touch spells is one of the good traits of having an familiar....nothing says "I care" like a thrush landing a 5d6 shocking grasp on an ogre...8) +they free up some skill points from listen and spot

(m other rogue/bard/ranger 1/2/1)

that's me by the way...that was the closest avatar to natty dreds that I could find...

It's actually an incursion by happy blue outsiders; You all know how dangerous uttering a demon's true name is. Tsk. Tsk.

(m other rogue/bard/ranger 1/2/1)

No problem as long as you ranger types aren't afraid of going toe to toe up front when necessary....I'll take the druid, nice, stinky, dredlocked, halfling druid. We're good, what's better'n a gang of rangers, spellcasters and a druid!

(m other rogue/bard/ranger 1/2/1)

I think 2 casters is a great idea (lay down some serious smack at 6th level!) as long is we have some more meat up front and a modicum of healing we'll be good. @Billzabub: I think the family in Sandpoint is from somewhere south of Varisia, although (once again) I can't recall the name...I know I've heard it. (If we're heavy on the melee,as others chime in, I can always do the Druid for some healing)

(m other rogue/bard/ranger 1/2/1)

I was thinking half-orc barbarian/rogue: rippling muscles, mighty thews, and greatsword with a sneak attack. (I've been playing spellcasters of late and this will be nice change) And, I have found that a wizard with evoc school, spell focus, and Varisian tattoo:evoc (I forget the Varisian name) feats makes a hell of a blaster type caster! (just food for thought) If anyone's dead set on this sort damage dealing, damage absorbing tank, I'm fine with any number of alt's; Halfling druid has been floating around my subconcious for months...

This is from my technologically challenged other thread (which you should ignore)Last night at my sister-in-laws I was conversing with my neice's WOW playing boyfriend (and alledgedly potential D+Der) and he had seen the Dragonlance movie so I rushed out to Blockbuster this morn to rent it...he said they left stuff out but he watched it twice and after watching it myself (with my wife and the boys) I have to give it basically a thumbs down...they did the cliff notes/saturday morning cartoon version of it and all of the mysterious parts were given away in blatant yet crappy expositions....the gobbos and hobgoblin fewmaster toede were sub Rankin and Bass "the Hobbit" and though the elves didn't have crowns of salad they were likewise done poorly.
Will anyone ever get a D+D based movie right without making it completely goofy? Such a good set of novels given unto people whose lack of vision is disturbing. My kids liked it...but they avidly watch the power rangers too. why? why? why?

Why can't someone make a Paizo-goblin looking animation....If I was to judge the hobby on stuff like this (it says " a Dungeons and Dragons Adventure" on the cover) I'd be mortified to play.

I apologize as,I neglected to see the other Dragonlance thread (just saw the top 4 and posted from the hip)so ignore the old Geezer who can't keep up with modern life.....carry on

If it won't spoil any RoRL, (as I'm in a campaign) and you guys can handle a virgin PbPer I'll throw a chip in. I'm a veteran of 1e who recently came into the 3.5 fold but it shouldn't be a problem.

(Pathfinder Companion Subscriber)

No, I feel compelled to tell you I'm the last guy to start 3.5 (after over 25 yrs of D+D off and on)Oct 7th!! And it is good, RotR!!

I still believe that it's more of a broadening of the market type of thing that leaves the bad taste and unfortuately that usually means a lower common denominator (if not the lowest) I definetely don't see comics as the lowest common denominater I read them and I don't think I get the same thing I was looking for in them at age 9. If you were fortunate enough to play D+D at age thirteen (I was) it's not exactly the same now; as you mature your game matures (hopefully) and your looking for something different from it. I just played my first game of 3.5 2 wks ago and although predjudiced (I'm 41 =AD+D 1e) I found out that it's still a killer game and possibly the most fun I have ever had in a game. I think it comes from the calibre of people you play with, as to what flavor? I think that is where roads merge and then depart for parts unknown..sit by at the local game store and watch some younger players for a while (try not to seem to creepy) you'll see what I mean

(Pathfinder Companion Subscriber)

I think this is very similar to the dumbing down Of "the Lord of the Rings" in the movie; You have a piece of intense fantasy literature and someone says "Hey there's a market for this" and in order to reach the widest base the have to take some of the "concepts" out add a little syrup and it all slides right down. It can't be enough that Gandalf says "look for me in the east in 3 days" but as they prepare to ride out the have his voice float down....in what amounts to spoon feeding the audience any time a "thought process" might occur. So even though I liked the movies and I think comics are good, I can't stand being spoon fed a bunch of mediocre crap mixed with syrup (or in the case of 4E "online paradigm") so I agree. of course a nod's as good as a wink to a blind bat!

Erm.... Chelish?

cf. the June 6th blog post: "Those of Chelish descent..."

So here's the tricky part (simplified as much as possible):

When used as an adjective to describe people, it is Chelish.
When used as an adjective to describe all else, it is Chelaxian.

Guess the number of times I've sat for several seconds trying to figure out if I should type "Chelish" or "Chelaxian" while writing the Korvosa book...

@_@

If I get it right will you send me a bottle of Tullamore Dew? It's much more smooth than Jamesons. Less "Chelaxian" too.

But do you look like Zubin Mehta? Can you write the lords prayer on the head of a pin? If so I think I know your Identity....myself I'm a racist, against the HUMAN race, or is that a Misanthrope? Got bit once and was never the same....

although I have respectfully disagreed with Dragonnman earlier (in my own senile way-all this newfangled technology-I,m from ad+d) I have to agree as a civilian that works for a law enforcement agency, sometimes, many times, there is a fine line between cop and criminal. On the other hand if your never near a gun remotely, you will never be shot and the more guns in your vicinity the more likely you are to be shot (roll PERCENTILE dice) As others have pointed out in the USA the population density means the likelyhood of guns being near is quite high so the question is: Am I my brothers keeper?

(Pathfinder Companion Subscriber)

nevermind. (amardolem seen staring at a blank stone wall muttering something about knitting...) SPIDERS! there are SPIDERS in here! ayuh!

Point IV: There are additional resons for US presence in Iraq, most notably:
nice rant! but was it sponsered by fox news? the point your skipping is this was about Bin Laden, thats Afganistan, not Iraq. Just as a few years ago the focus suddenly shifted.......and the euro and the pound are killing the dollar so any businessman in international trade is likely to change (even Americans who'll change quicker than anyone-ever notice the loss of manufacturing jobs? take Hasbro for example where's their stuff made?)

(Pathfinder Companion Subscriber)

not to interrupt the geopolitical nature of this thread but...the fact is there are no monsters in this world because we are they... the orcs, the demons, the cruel melniboneans, we are what we most fear...we are responsible for the worst atrocities, greed, avarice, lust. the end is nye...and marshall mathers? everybody knows thats devil music! this is the abyss and we're a chaotic faction among many proclaiming we're right...where's a paladin when you need one?

(Pathfinder Companion Subscriber)

"Tonight on Celebrity B#%&~slap what you've all been waiting for-osama bin laden!!" roll the theme music

(Pathfinder Companion Subscriber)

I had an idea for a new reality show sort of like that...it's called "celebrity b#@*@slap" were a secret crew films somebody coming out of nowhere to haul off a nice haymaker on the idiotic celebrity of the week or in this case politician or militant leader....

(Pathfinder Companion Subscriber)

I actually haven't played 3.5 for that very reason, it seemed more a money making scam (I know you're out there but..) I thought as I reviewed the 3.5 materials "no one could be up on all this enough to have a smooth emersive gaming experience." that being said and that planned obsolesence is the american way, I must say I'm glad this communnity survived..I thought everyone on here would be alot younger and as people fess up I find there is a substantial older core still! (41) the only thing that sucked me back in was a Dungeon cover a few years ago (sphere of annihilation trap from the Tomb of Horrors caught my eye at a news stand) I found there was so much creativity inside the PAIZO Dragon, that I was forced to keep picking them up, even though I haven't played in maybe 10 yrs. The point of all this is that (up until this month) I was still spending 10-12 bucks a month on DnD(though I recently began playing mini's with my 7 yr old to introduce him to gaming)

(Pathfinder Companion Subscriber)

I've tried the "Warlord of Mars" with my seven year old (boy)but after reviewing it, Burroughs uses some archaic and advanced words. I began to wonder how I read it as a youth..might I suggest "The Hobbit" treating each chapter as a book or Tolkien's Roverandom. I have also had success playing D+D minis with him it's heavy on math so you must be patient (in other words the games take a long time) but that's a good thing.
