A great story with interesting characters and a fun gripping plotline.

Elaine Cunningham provides us with more literary gold with this story. I found it to be so hard to put down that I read nearly the entire book in one sitting. I loved the unique quality of the wizard and the house drake that accompanies him.

disappointing

This was the third novel that I have bought from the Pathfinder novel line and I will not even attempt to finish it. The dialogue is like something out of a bad 90's teen soap opera, I felt like I was reading a script for the Gilmore Girls. I was very pleased with the first two Pathfinder novels but this one is a low point in fantasy story telling. As an avid reader of fantasy adventure and I have to agree with the fact that present tense is a poor choice for story telling, I put the book down after four chapters and I will not be picking it back up.
