Harder to make and harder to buy magic items, sounds like the games I run. I am happy with that.
I went for A DC-15 Will to drink it once it touches the lips.
A DC-15 fort to swallow it and another DC-15 Fort to finish it.
That earns the money, but I had a 4th DC-15 roll to keep it down and avoid being nauseous.
No one did it at 1st level, but a couple have done it since.
The video James posted sums it up to me.
Kayos. wrote: Euphegenia wrote: Harrow decks are 100gp! Yeah I thought that was excessive at first but it does make sense - they are quite rare and generally handcrafted by Varisians and kept in the family, they aren't really a buyable.
..that said my tabletop character started with a deck as she has the harrowed feat, she really didn't start with much stuff, heh! Is the +2 to one roll per day worth it? I was caught up in two minds for a long time, then I realised I had a point left over for my attributes, so I upped my Charisma to 13 and went for it.
I guess they must play a part in the adventure, as they sent me a deck as part of my pathfinder subscription.
Also should we be worried that the picture of Lamm has him holding a pet croc on a lead?
DM:
Have you got "Pathfinder Chronicles: Gods & Magic?"
I was wondering if you have got it if you were allowing the flavour changes to some of the spells listed in the last paragraph of each god.
Sorry about the delay in getting my Character up, been entertaining my brother in-law all weekend. I have no work tomorrow and updating her is my priority.
flash_cxxi wrote: once we get out of the city I love your optimism!
Flash, is your name Flash One to One, or has it another meaning that I am missing?
Franz Lunzer wrote: Guard should be updated to 2nd level, anyone care to check? I tried to check, but I have no idea what your new class is and could not help.
Is all this stuff in your head? You must have a noggin twice the size of a normal person.
Fantastic detail.
Ardanto needs no time to prepare or rest, he is happy to just observe the Taxidermist place for the next few days, noting who enters and leaves.
I log off for 35 minutes and come back to a page of posts, love it.
Loot! Swag! Booty! Bring on the treasure!
Ardanto just needs enough to buy a few beers and put the rest aside for a boat.
Oh and a bit for an engagement ring for Lord Thoven :-)
I am all up dated to 2nd level.
I always use the average rounded up for HP when I DM, stops people being disappointed with rolls.
That said, this system gives you near enough average even when you roll a 1, so the only way is up.
I was looking at the Quickened turning feat, I am not sure if it is overpowered with the changes to turning.
Do you want to make any changes, off the top of my head I either thought it should have extra turning as a prerequisite or use up 2 turning attempts. What are your thoughts?
I am also going for Smoking Mountains so I can take the wand and the Dauntless feat if they are OK.
seekerofshadowlight wrote: sorry man except those changes they are just like the beta Cool, I will have him/her up tomorrow then.
I could do with a definite list of the abilities of Gold Dwarf where they are different from the standard dwarf.
So far I have -2 dex instead of -2 chr
+1 to hit aberrations rather than goblins
after that it gets a bit fuzzy.
If anyone could type them up I would be a happy trooper.
What is very important is if the favoured class included cleric.

What is that?
On a serious note and at the risk of sounding like a sycophant I would like to congratulate Seeker for the adventure so far, I am thoroughly enjoying it and think the challenge level is perfect.
As a full time DM I know that praise is hard to come by, so I just wanted to let you know you are doing a great job.
I am a huge fan of the new channelling rules s well, even when the DM kicks our butt with it.

Dungeon Monkey wrote: LOL ;)
Anyway, I don't have a bunch of time this morning, but rest assured today while ensconced at my eerily silent phone workstation today I will be dreaming up a fun intro scenario. I always like input, so I will give you all the chance to tell me what interests you.
Some choices:
1. Indiana Jones/Lara Croft: There's unexplored ruins in them thar jungles! Shall we try and plunder them?
2. Cap'n Jack Sparrow: ARRR! trade and adventure awaits ye on the high seas!
3. The Mummy: Ancient secrets stir and dread necromantic liches plot their revenge on the living. Who will stop their evil?
4. Under da sea: Life's always better, where it is wetter, take it from me! Lots of aquatic races to adventure with.
5. I have seen the enemy and they is us: Opal itself is a welter of politics, knife brawls, theivery and sin. Dive right in!
6. Jurassic Park: There are a lot of folks willing to pay big piles of gold for dino eggs. Do you dare the deep canopy of the Banyan Jungle to obtain them? Watch out for the Monkey Kobolds!
Just a couple ideas, any have traction?
I would like a blend of all of them but number 4, I hate underwater adventures, makes me feel like I am in a Little Mermaid cartoon.
A nemesis for the group is always cool as well.
I am looking now at a Stereotypical Dwarven Cleric, I will probably go for the Red Hand if Seeker thinks it has the most Roleplay possibility, but I am open for any ideas.
I am a bit confused on the feats, are we getting one from the CotCT hand out and one racial feat from forgotten realms?
EDIT: Ignore the bit about posts, it took a few readings to sink in, we get both.
Two down two to go!
Reg Darkwintre wrote: Altered mine to Paladin just in case won't help initially but might be a useful backup.
Let me know if that presents problems though.
What god are you going for? I may go for the same god if it tickles my fancy.
If you can stomach another player I am in, I am happy to play any class you need.
edit: Looks like I am going to be a Cleric.
Is it the undeads turn or who are waiting for a player?
My party of 7 PC's faced him last week, I used the supplied tactics and he kicked their butt, a good idea is to use the robe to recall a second solid fog, the ability to only move 5 feet through it gives him plenty of rounds to pick them off with his area effects and scorching rays.
I effectively got a TPK and I had already had him use reverse gravity and disintegrate outside against a Stone giant who had disobeyed him.
Happy birthday dude. Let's try not to get you eaten as a present.
A very cool entrance, I am so glad the cavalry turned up and was a cleric!
Give me some of that sweet sweet positive energy I so crave!
They are advertising it on UK TV at the moment, but I won't go to see it at the cinema, the wifey is a bit of a wuss when it comes to scary films.
I think it is cool that you know him, small world and all that.
I have to wait a long time for my subscriptions to make their way to Blighty, so it will be a while before I get a look at the Mothman, unless the missed parcel card I received on Tuesday was it.
I am really enjoying this sign up, I have to resist posting every time I see an update.
I forgot to say, great post Guard.
I also loved the way the thread raced along the other day, made all my obsessive clicking to check for updates worth while.
Now bring on the crabs.
I'm loving all this back story to Opal, this city area could be dropped into any world as an island.
I can feel some theft of your intellectual property coming along, a big "YOINK" to all you have posted so far.
As a European, I find south American cultures very difficult to imagine in normal circumstances, you are painting a vivid picture of it all, so well that even a dullard like me can imagine swaggering down the street in high fashion with a rapier on my hip and a sword circle medallion around my neck.
Friking site just ate my updated profile, now I am annoyed!

I can't remember much, but I do remember you had one of the google maps of Vancouver up and it had lots of buildings circled, you explained that they were the locations of the nearest helicopter pads.
Weird huh?
Okay, that sounds like something I would really do.
Was it in person. Did I have yellow hair and two inch thick goggles?
Thankfully my wine soaked brain has washed that part away..... It did make me wish I had put some pilot skills on my character sheet.

Cord jumped ship over to Eberron for a quick holiday. ;)-
I got him back, I am being pants with my alias all day.
I am just writing up Ten Foot Twin Eaters statistics now.
I am struggling with choosing two trait and spending the money.

Weird huh? Not half as weird as my Pathfinder Dream! ;) well that was just plain weird :-)
Forzakhad wrote: Lacking other options, Forzakhad creates another orb of force and sends it flying towards the undead. "Slice 'em, dice 'em, bring them down!"
ranged touch attack into melee; mental hammer damage (1d20-3=10, 1d4=3)
Would it be worth adding an action point to that, I have a feeling it will miss unless you can avoid the -4 for melee. We are levelling up soon and the points don't carry over.

Kruelaid wrote: I just noticed that Z-day is the most prolific modern PBP on the boards.
Cool. Thanks for posting guys!
That is because you made it the best Modern PBP on the boards, I had read a lot of them, but this is the only one I book marked and followed obsessively, like your own private stalker.
I'm happy to go as fast as every one can take. Hence the reason I check the thread about 5 times per day.
I am not far from finishing "Ten Foot" my Half-Orc Cleric, I will try and get him up tomorrow for your approval.
Quick question, if I have scribe scroll or brew potion as a feat, can I assume that any scrolls or potions I created are half the purchase price, as per the creation rules?
