"Have any words?" Aleksandyr questioned Gunser with a raised brow before he scoffed. "I have no words for the undead, Capt'n," the paladin replied, having become used to the honorific (as he reasoned) 'Prayerful'. "But if you're looking for some measure of redemption, may this poor soul be scorched with divine fire and eat away the corruption in its remains. In undeath this man was a perversion of the living. In life this man was an eater of the living. Burn it with fire, destroy it, and lets be on our way. There are others who need prayers, not this corpse."

"Its not to say he killed every last one of them," Aleksandyr suggested. "It simply says he killed the necromancer and he was bitten while his servants crumbled to dust. Its hard to say how many servants there were in all... I just wouldn't assume they're all gone at least..."

The paladin paled after he had read the letter and beneath the visor of his helm his brows furrowed together in concern. He turned the letter over and after he had seen that there was nothing more, he passed it on to his companions to read. There was a moment where it appeared there were actually cogs turning in his head as he looked thoughtful. "Hmm," he mused. He looked back to where they had come. "So, there is some cult of undead lurking around this city? I don't think this revelation bodes well for us."

The paladin looked up from the bottom of the bit to the top of the pit where they had entered through the trap door. When he had first descended he hadn't thought the fall was as significant as it had been. He reasoned climbing down opposed to a direct fall made quite the difference. Aleksandyr wrinkled his nose before saying, "Alright, lets see if we can find a way out of here."

"In the basement of a house in the city," Aleksandyr asked with a sound of sarcasm. "Use your head, Blast, we'd burn down the entire city block. I'm afraid we're going to have to leave them here. The best we can do for them is inform a local church or another official anonymously. We can't be seen moving them, either, but I could at least offer prayer for their remains..." With a frown he just shook his head and leaned down to watch Gunser move into the hole.

He looked up once Gunser made his way down into the pit with him. He raised a brow with the mention of the bodies being bled dry. "Is that so? I think those are all dead but if you think vampires are the cause and not the fall they took, take a look into this hole. Maybe you could wiggle through before I attempt to get stuck...? Ever get the feeling something is on the other side?" The paladin's concerns were not misplaced as he didn't want to lose his head tryin to crawl into a serpent's hole. Someone a little more nimble was better off looking -- or smaller. He brought the torch back to illuminate the hole for Gunser.

"Shall we draw straws...?" Aleksandyr chuckled as he drew attention to the rungs that led down into the trap hole. He waved the torch over the hole a few more times before he stood and then climbed down into the hole while holding the torch into one hand. He looked down and said, "Keep an eye open and be ready..."

I think this is reasonable. While a Mythic character is likely only to get +2 to initiative at Mythic 2, faster characters and monsters still get to shine. Just because Mythic characters are awesome doesn't mean they get to steamroll adventures. They were still often prone to mistakes and failures and an enemy could get a hand up over them.

"You speak fair enough, Gunser, and for that I will concede to your wisdom. No armor but a sword and the coin for a horse so that he may flee. Very well," Aleksandyr spoke, nodding his head slowly. He approached the man and took a knee. While their captain had taken the liberty to break his leg, he would right the injury with a prayer and a divine glow that radiated from his gauntlets as he applied them to his leg. The energy would knit the flesh and bone and make it easier for him to flee the city. "Go now, leave us." Afterwards he looked to the other two present. "His heart is not tainted black," Aleksandyr commented after a moment. He sensed no evil within the man's soul, no doubt just a lesser man of a greater man. He nodded and stood, his gaze shifted to Gunser. "He shall live... But I still believe he needs no arms or armor to begin a new, simple life."

"Thanks, mate," Aleksandyr offered the old salt for preventing him from taking a wayward fall. With the sailor's assistance he righted himself and looked to the half-elf unconscious on the floor from where he had to throw him. He was sure the man would have rather been on the floor than in the hole but he still felt foolish for taking the plunge in the first place. He observed the negotiation and quirked his mouth. He shook his head and removed his helm as he took a knee down beside the fallen half-elf. "Nay," Aleksandyr spoke. "He should not be given arm or armor less we risk betrayal from a man who has already wronged us. What is to say he will just take that gold and see to paying a gang of ruffians to threaten our lives? Give him but a gold to his name and see he leaves the city without word to a soul less the mercy of Iomedae be lifted from her servant's hamd." The paladin spoke with an irritated conviction with a burning light in his eyes. It was like the flicker of a match but a simple blink and it was gone. He wrapped a gauntlet clad hand around a holy symbol hanging around his neck and prayed. "May the Inheritor judge your soul worthy of her mercy..." Detect Evil

Acrobatics 1d20 - 5 ⇒ (4) - 5 = -1 45+ posts in one night to catch up on... I think this won't be necessary... I really need mithril armor, heh. Aleksandyr attempted to carry the half-elf through the threshold of the tiefling couple's home. He had been distracted considering their encounter with the Hellknights and how earlier he had stopped Jelani from killing the man slung across his shoulder. His mind was elsewhere, quiet as he followed his companions as internal strife was evident amongst them.

Aleksandyr will prevent you from killing the half-elf. He didn't heal any allies because they were not on the ground dying. Aleksandyr is compassionate and a healer of the sick before he's a zealous fist of Iomedae. I understand IC decisions but if allowed, Aleksandyr can and will prevent a Coup de Grace on a helpless enemy.

As long as we are off of initiative... After Aleksandyr saw to it that the half-elf's bleeding could be stopped he looked around for another poor soul to save. By the will of the Inheritor the half-elf would survive. "See to it that someone watches him," he told whomever would listen as he stood. He noticed one of the guards was still breathing so he moved to his body. He took a knee again and placed his hands to the guard's wounds as a divine light came from his gauntlets, its warmth washing over the man's injuries. "Once again I beseech you for strength and mercy..." Lay on Hands 1d6 ⇒ 5

The paladin surveyed the battlefield in the wake of the encounter with his sword and shield held firmly in hand. The rider appeared to offer parlay and the growth that rose up amongst the cobblestones of the street still offered a hindrance. Aleksandyr slung his shield across his back and tossed his cloak back over it before he sheathed his sword. He moved over to the bleeding man and took a knee. He opened the visor on his hand and placed his gauntlets to the half-elf's wounds. "Inheritor, give me strength and show this soul mercy," he prayed as his hands glowed with a divine light. Reflex Save 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 As the grass sprung up with ensnaring roots, the paladin managed to avoid becoming rooted in place. He trudged through the thick undergrowth conjured around them and it hampered as he tried to move after the fleeing conjurer. "Curses," Aleksandyr growled as he realized he would be unable to catch up with them. Double move to S21.
