Background/Description Born to a poor elven couple who traveled the Varisian countryside, Aldous never really settled down anywhere. He has visited most of the major human cities (as well as plenty of much smaller communities), constantly sampling what each has to offer. Having lived with a Varisian caravan for some time, he has come to enjoy the colorful, energetic people's attitudes and behaviors. To this day, he can often be found wearing multi-colored scarves, bells, and other typical Varisian trappings. He can also spin quite the story when pressed, and serves as a decent Harrower if needed.

More than anything, though, Aldous craves knowledge. Hidden tomes, ancient spells and rituals, or other objects of arcane power draw him. More common information also intrigues the soft-spoken elf. Who are the players of the local communities? What is the political situation? Where are the hot spots and why? These questions provide his most common stock in trade: information.

Aldous prizes his reputation and knows how much appearance can make or break someone such as himself, so always seeks to dress nicely and maintains a clean, nice-smelling wardrobe. Tall, slim, and graceful, he projects calm, attentive intensity, and never raises his voice in anger. Quick with a smile and generous with his small coins (SP & CP), Aldous tends to over-tip and can be a bit of a "soft touch," especially towards obviously poor elves and half-elves.

As a wandering, forlorn Elf, Kaer Maga serves as an excellent “stopping point” for knowledge, experience, and acquisition of a little treasure. Smooth talking and accepting of most other people, Aldous has found himself in a potential jackpot of information and opportunities. He plans to thoroughly explore and exploit this opportunity as much as he possibly can.

He has recently come out of the dungeon known as the Crypt of the Everflame, one of 2 survivors from their original group of 5. He bears a few new scars, as well as a newfound respect for the creatures of the underdark. Along with that respect, he craves more experience with them, and a greater understanding of their weird and mysterious ways.

Having heard rumors of a race of Darklands dwelling elves with black skin and strange powers, he made his way to Riddleport. Arriving with some coin, but not an inexhaustible supply, he asked around for adventuring groups in need of his skills.
