I'm sure if you wanted to, you could start your own thread making personal attacks against atheistic socialist 4e players. Would that make you feel at home?

Interesting you chose these particular examples.

Does it mean you are an atheistic socialist yourself? *wink*

For the record, I want PF v2.

Just because I hate 4e and didn't think 3e's time has come yet doesn't mean I don't like change at all or that it will never be 3e's time to call it quits.

For the record, I do not want PF v2.

This has nothing to do with 4e. It has everything to do with the fact I love Pathfinder RPG and the 3.5 rules as they are. They don't need to be endlessly changed.

There are tons of games out there to achieve the variants a vast majority of people would want: Arcana Evolved, Iron Heroes, Experimental Might, Trailblazers, Grim Tales, Iron Heroes, Conan RPG, Fourth Edition D&D, True20, Microlite20, ... the list is practically endless.

Pick your options and houserule the system however you want instead of waiting for "the next Official™ edition".

To quote myself from the other thread mentioned/linked upthread:

Different printings, like Castles & Crusades? Sure. I'm okay with that.

A Pathfinder Lite version, as a self-contained boxed set, to introduce kids to the game? I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

Starting the cycles of editions again? Please, no. Enough is enough. If they decide to go with this kind of rince/repeat marketing, I'll just go get my AD&D books, launch a new campaign and leave PF aside just like I left Fourth edition go on its way. I read this meme of "inevitable second edition" of Pathfinder in which "Paizo transforms the game to such an extent it truly becomes Paizo's own game system" all over the place, coming often from people who don't like 3.5 and PF RPG in the first place, and all I can do is shake my head in disbelief. Please, no. Not again.

I'm not into "Special Edition" stuff, personally.

It's alright. :-)

Judging by the people who posted on the thread, there seems to be interest for such a product. Which is also (very) cool.

So, you're going to play 3.x based DND for the rest of your life?

Otherwise, you missed the point of this thread.

I made the hypothethical assumption that everyone, including you, are ready for a new addition of Pathfinder. Jason states that he's doing a fresh redesign not based on any edition of any fantasy RPG and throws out a general "what do you want" and "be as vague or specific as you want".

I guess you, yourself, are not getting why people react the way they do, either. I think that many people do not want to even accept the hypothetical assumption that it could happen. They want to mark their disagreement with it, and push for it to *not* happen.

This, in itself, ought to tell you something about the fans' interest in the hypothesis itself: they don't want it to happen.
At all.

It's very interesting, when you think about it.

I have to agree here ... I know this is hypothetical, but if I have to change to another system soon I am gonna give up and just play WOW all day.

I didn't switch to 43 because of the money invested in 3/3.5. If PFRPG 2.0 comes out any time soon I will just have to give up on role playing.

I'm not big on WoW, but I'm going to add my voice to this line of thought. I don't want a 2nd edition of the PFRPG.

I for one would purchase it.

Black Book Editions, who publishes Pathfinder products in the French language, will release a very limited, collector edition of the Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook. 500 printed copies, super-deluxe, fake leather cover with gold trim, and so on.

Question for the Paizo staff: Will we ever see a similar product in English from Paizo?

Question for the fans: If such a collector product was made available, would you purchase it?

Should NPC Commoners get XP for giving birth?

LOL

Honestly? Whatever. I'm not really interested in reaching that level of simulation. It just doesn't matter enough in my games.

Yes, every adventure comes with a pre-generated character.

I would allow Paladins of Cayden Cailean yes, depending on their particular backgrounds and beliefs.

What other aspects of the old system made you dislike being a DM? And do you think WotC and Paizo "fixed" them with their new games?

Not anything really made me "dislike", let alone "hate", being a DM with 3.5.

I love being a DM.
I love 3.5.
I love DMing 3.5.

I do like some of Pathfinder's changes, and will adopt that system as the evolution of the 3.5 game we love at our game table.

One thing I would mention that was made easier with Pathfinder RPG is character creation: streamlining skills is one of the simplest, yet biggest changes making the whole thing easier to manage. Same thing about leveling up characters.

Sorry to rain on your parade but, as I mentioned on an earlier post, Golarion's amount of canon bloat (and hence canon lawyers) is going to be exponentially proportional to the game's success and directly proportional to its longevity, no ifs ands or buts.

I agree.

I love Golarion. For me, it's all about the actual Campaign Setting book and the Companion volumes presenting the kingdoms.

Beyond this, I feel it becomes too much of an AD&D 2nd edition, plot-heavy setting. What I want is a sandbox. No metaplot, no timeline. And with Pathfinder Society, what we de facto get is a timeline. That's not for me.

So I'm doomed to be alienated as a Golarion customer, sooner rather than later. There will be reboots, there will be timeline advancements, and sooner or later, Times of Troubles and Spellplagues. I won't be there to see it, because I will have stopped buying Pathfinder setting products by then.

(The actual Pathfinder RPG is another story completely)

This is a known issue also (as page 548 being misplaced in the PDF).

This is going to be fixed ASAP, and Paizo will inform everyone who purchased the PDF when the new version is available for download.

You're not the only one.

It's a known issue. Paizo is on record saying they're going to fix the PDF ASAP, and inform people who purchased it that a new, fixed version is available for them to download.

Use common sense. Make rulings of your own.
Don't wait for "official" answers. You know your own gaming group better than any game designer ever could.
Use that knowledge to your advantage, so that everyone ends up having fun around the table.
You're welcome.
