If I remember correctly, he teaches "The History of Warfare." Also, I found a real-world equivalent/explanation to Anthony's light-generation(and no, he's not the Champion of Light). St. Elmo's Fire. "I've lived in the trees my whole life and you think falling is a problem?" Anthony asks as he swings back and forth on the branch. "Also, that is the deepest shade of red I've seen Michael turn ever. I should tell on you two more often." He lets go and drops about thirty feet to the next branch. "Besides, the only reason you caught me because I was watching my brother." He takes off into the trees, covering quite a bit of ground considering all the spindly branches and thorny vines on his chosen path. Kitty Tanaka wrote: "Well, alright. That's a pretty good reason. I mean, I'd be really upset if Saffire got hurt." "Good, then it's settled. Catch!" He says as he tosses Saffire up into the air, having seen him fly before. Bluff:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
Kitty Tanaka wrote: She swung him slightly back and forth. "So, I'm thinking you'll have to come up with a better reason than that." "You're crazy seems like a good reason." He says as he glances around. "But then there's always that startling flash of light." As soon as he says it, extremely bright light emanates from him for a moment. Kitty Tanaka wrote: "So, in case you missed it, this is the part where you explain to me why I shouldn't drop you," she said cheerfully. "Because I've got that star from earlier?" He offers, slipping the shuriken from his pocket and holding it out of her reach(not hard considering she's holding him the ankles). Headmaster Ryo wrote: "I'll take that as a yes then." Ryo replies as he waves a hand at a map of the school. "There you go, room 134 is all yours. If anything fell, I apologize." Ryo had merged their rooms together already, handling the moving for them. ;p Here is the post Vai is talking about. Headmaster Ryo wrote:
Kitty Tanaka wrote: "Wow, this is incredible!" she said entusiastically as she scampered across a branch, using her tail to help her balance. She grinned back at him. "I may not be a fan of small enclosed spaces, but I absolutely love heights." "That's good, because we are really high up." Michael replies. "Just don't fall, because then I'd have to catch you." "It's about time!" Anthony yells. "Spending all that time kissing when you knew I was waiting!" Kitty Tanaka wrote: "Not at all," she said, cheerfully. "I really love animals and want to learn as much about them as I can. The owl colonies really do sound totally fascinating to me. I hope you'll show them to me. I'm really looking forward to it." "Okay then. Michael might want to go too, he always liked traveling the Anderail roads." "Traveling those roads are probably the only reason I got nothing worse than a dislocated shoulder in Advanced PE." Michael says as he returns, using the door instead of just going through the wall. "It's been a while though." "Grandpa's ring is right where it's always been, if you think you're going to need it." "Nah, I'll be fine." Kitty Tanaka wrote: Kitty giggled again. "It's okay you know. I have brothers, so it's not like I'm shocked. Kyuu used to borrow uncle's spyglass to try and see mermaids because they don't wear any tops. You should have seen him blush when he got caught. His ears even turned red." Anthony's ears turn red as well, when he realizes Kitty knows what he was talkig about, more or lees. Kitty Tanaka wrote: "And owl colonies...that sounds really interesting." "You're not just saying that so I'll stop looking like a human tomato, are you?" Kitty Tanaka wrote: "Really? Like what?" she asked, fascinated. "This place is so different from anywhere I've been before." "Nocturnal animals mostly, but sometimes you can see fey. One time I saw..." Anthony stops and his face goes red. "Uh, never mind that. You should see some the really big owl colonies." Kitty Tanaka wrote: "Wow," Kitty said. "I'm impressed. That's a really useful power to have, Anthony-kun. Not crazy powerful or anything, but handy to have." "I know that. I mean, there are spells that make light, and just about anyone can cast them, right?" Anthony asks. "But I like it. I don't need to turn on lights to get around at night, and that helps me sneak out, so it's already useful. Plus, there are things you can only see at night out here, if you're watching." Kitty Tanaka wrote: "So....any other strange things happen around you?" she asked. "I ask because these power things tend to run in families. My onee-chan can dimension door at will. Which I think is a much better than being invisible all the time whether I want to be or not." "Well I, uh..." Anthony suddenly seems a bit shy. "I can see in the dark a lot better than I used to. I don't even need light to get around down here anymore. I can also make a bit of light if I concentrate really hard. That's why there isn't a visible light source in here. I think Michael and I are the only ones with powers in the family. At least for enough generations we forgot about it anyway." Ephebe wrote:
Huh, must have missed that part. Never mind then. "Sure, come on in." Kam says as he opens the door. Once inside, it's easy to see Taron propped up on pillows and smiling weakly as Ephebe and Krays. "It's good to see you're both okay." He says softly, his voice rough. "Almost makes this massive headache lessen." "I would never! He was still inside the house! Do I have to tell you how bad it is to have an open fire inside a tree?" "Actually... we were all at a lake. I remember because the sand under the chair turned black." "Given the way this conversation has suddenly turned against me, I'm going to go work on the cave system now." Michael says as Anthony starts walking toward him with a menacing gleam in his eyes. Michael steps back into the stone just before Anthony gets close enough to swing at him. "That's the second time I've been able to convince we were somewhere else when something happened." Anthony says to Kitty, grinning mischievously. "Yeah, sorry about that too. I asked her to throw it to see if that would keep you out of my room." Michael says sheepishly. "Uh.. okay. I forgive you, since it was his fault. Besides, it's not like it's my wall you put a hole in." Going back down into the cave, Anthony soon leads everyone to the room he made. Going from stone walls to a rather decent looking building shows just how much time he's spent down here in the last two years. He points out a table that has a pile of black, semi-spherical rocks on it. "It's a bit warmer in here." Michael says as he looks over the rocks. "They might have been stuck together by something that melted or evaporated when the temperature changed." He gets them all as close together as he can before trying to get them back in the shape he remembers. Strangely, they don't even twitch. "Huh, strange, I thought any rock or earth would be affected by that." "So you can't put it back together? I looked a lot better before it broke apart." "Sorry, Anthony. I could take a few pieces back to Avalon to see why I can't put them back, but that's it." Michael explains, still trying to figure out why he can't affect the rock. "Anyway, this place is neat. I never thought of making a chamber into a room before." "You think so? It didn't take as long as I thought it would." "To be fair, if he's down here doing something he shouldn't be, it would be better to know about it." Michael says as he follows his brother, keeping close to Kitty so she doesn't get lost. "Okay, Anthony, we're out of the caves now. Why didn't you want us down there?" "I told you, the caves are mine now." "That can't be all." "It is!" Michael says something then, in a language Kitty's never heard before, and it seems to shock Anthony. "You still remember that?" Anthony asks. "I... I thought you had forgotten it." "I only stopped using it when you did. Now will you tell me about the caves?" "I... I turned the biggest chamber into a room. Got some wood and brick for the door. I thought that if things didn't change soon, I'd just move into the caves permanently." "You were going to run away." "...Yeah." "Because I wasn't coming home." "Yeah." "You know Mom and Dad made me go, right? I wanted to stay here. I'm glad I didn't now that I've met Kitty, but I never wanted to go. I didn't even have any cool abilities or anything!" "My name! I'm not some bug!" He says angrily. "When it was little, it didn't bother me that much. But I'm not some little kid anymore!" "Why did you say anything then?" "Because everyone was busy worried about why you hadn't come back! Even Cait stopped wanting to play after a while. So I started coming here to..." Anthony pauses to find the write words, "to get away from it! I've made this place my own. So get out." "I need to make sure it's stable, Ant... Anthony. I can go after that." "No!" Anthony says, sounding just a tiny bit panicked. "Just go!" "Huh. Weird" Michael follows the tracks carefully, his memory of the cave system returning even as he concentrates on fixing the cracks and fissures. When he reaches a rather big opening, he peers into one and frowns. "He moved the rock." "What are you doing here?" A voice from behind them asks, causing Michael to jump. "Come to take the caves back?" "Ant, you know these caves are dangerous." "No their not. They might have been two years ago, but the caves have settled again, and I tested for dangerous spots in the beginning, blocking them off if I found." "That's not the point, Ant, y-" "Don't call me that!" Anthony shouts, causing dust to fall from the ceiling. "I never liked that nickname." "He said he was going to the caves for a bit. He, ah, he didn't 'want to intrude'. He's kind of took over the caves since you left." "The caves?" Michael asks, concern showing on his face. "The same caves I told you were unstable after that rock crashed into them? You've been letting him go there?" "Well, he said they were okay." "I'm going to go make sure they are. Do you want to see the caves, Kitty? They'll be safe in no time." Well, you completely missed the chance to wind up awkwardly tangled in a heap. Now his mom has to beat him with a broom until he drops the album. I hope you're happy. XP "Don't worry about it. If my son can hide a growing panther in his room for three months without anyone finding out, he can help you stop being... forgettable." Jerak says as he takes a sip of his drink before giving Kitty a serious look. "Now, tell me, has he been a gentleman towards you?" The sounds of chase can be heard going through the entire house, interrupted only by the excited meeps of Saffire. "So, in an attempt to get her invisibility under control, I was going to take her around town later and see how many people can catch the shuriken." Michael receives a whack on the head from his mother for that comment. "Okay, I'll just introduce her the normal way then." Michael leans in and whispers something to his mother. "Were they have always been, why?" "Oh, I just think it's a little chilly in here." Michael explains before running away from the table and out of the room. "What was that about?" Jerak wonders. "I don't know. What do the photo albums have to do with the temperature?" Kitty Tanaka wrote: "Oh, he's definitely smart. He gets very good marks in his classes. Especially alchemy." She pulled Saffire out of her bag where he'd been hiding since they met Cait Sidhe. He tilted his head charmingly and looked up at the strangers. He meeped and then 'hid' behind Kitty's teacup, keeping an eye out for something unsuspecting to pounce on. "This is Saffire. He's my familiar. Michael made him in alchemy class." As Michael looks down at his food, Sylvia reaches for Saffire with a "Aww, he's so cute" expression on her face, surprising the little drake when she catches him with her other hand when he tries to pounce her. "I've dealt with a panther cub, little guy, you'll need to be faster than that." She says as she gives him a piece of meat, smiling at the resulting mess. "Yep, just like a kitten." "You never said you could make... whatever that little guy is supposed to be." Jerak says as he eyes Michael critically. "That's impressive enough to get you a name for yourself." "Oh, Kitty, that's terrible!" Sylvia reaches over and pats Kitty's hand gently. "If it helps, I didn't forget about you when you stayed back to talk to Michael." "So.. people would forget about you because they didn't know the real you?" Jerak asks. "Michael has become pretty smart if he figured that out on his own." "Don't worry, Miss Tanaka." Jerak says, noticing the way Kitty paled. "I believe you. Besides, it's the funniest I've heard in a long ti- engh!" Jerak is cut off by his wife elbowing him in the side. "Now," she says, "how about we all go inside and have a snack? Maybe you could tell us what Michael's been up to? He's been very vague with his letters you know."
