During the time many millenia ago of the elven ascension from the savage mimicry to the enlightened civilization of their culture today, many elves experimented with various ways to explore their heritage. Some chose to use the longtime Celestial allies as a ways to expand their culture, and yet there were those who rebelled against this philosophy. Those who differed went a different route, and contact was made with several Infernal being from other planes. They were only too willing to 'help' these renegade elves grow. When these elves were discovered, they were branded as traitors and slaugthered. No one knows if the Infernal powers even betrayed the elves who bargained with them. The only sign of the Infernal presence has shown in the bloodline of certain elves and half elves, who carry the taint.
Aevelyn is one of the rare half breeds cursed with this bloodline. Aevelyn and her brother Aearion are children of an incredibly powerful necromancer who made a pact with THE "Dark Lord" and their mother ran off with Aevelyn and Aearion before they were born. Not long afterwards she was abandoned to her fate when her mother died of a strange wasting disease. The disease ripped through her mothers system extremely quickly an she was dead within a month. Aevelyn was only 7 years old at the time. She should have perished from the disease, but she had shown no traces of any symptoms of the disease.
She was left on the streets to fend for herself, and should have perished, but then her sorcerous powers started to manifest themselves. she was able to amnipulate the leader of a gang of beggar thieves in Kingsblood to take her in and train her in certain talents. At that point her sorcerous powers came in handy, along with her exotic good looks, which only grew as she aged . Dancing came naturally to her, and it helped to support her and keep the money coming in, not to mention keeping her alive.
Now her dancing days are behind her, but she still hires herself out as an escort for certain nobles, who don't mind her heritage so much.
So the Dark Lord came to Earth and for about 10 years he took time organizing the beastmen and other evil creatures into his army, then waged war on all the major cities in Tevelia. Burning smaller towns to the ground, taking places that were once tropical and beautiful and turning them into waste land. The war was bloody and lasted 200 years. A lot of races were killed off, with the humans dwindling in numbers, the dwarves had come down from their mountian home to assist in the ongoing battle. Druids and other peacful beings assisted mankind in their fight for survival. There also was a group called The Order who stepped in and assisted in the fight (and if you have seen the movie Priest, thats basically what they are). After so much bloodshed, finally a group of 8 archmagi and 6 elder druids managed to lock the Dark Lord up in the frozen lands of Vallnorr. This victory was not without cost, as 5 of the magi and 4 druids died during the process.
Things have been rather quiet for the last 50 years and there has been a boom of children born thruout Tevelia.
*Your character's father worked for the Dark Lord and was basically like a doctor at one of the concentration camps from WWII...XD
