I'm sorry if I'm reviving a dead topic. What I'm wondering and maybe I'm missing something, but how would I apply these rules for transforming weapons, not magically but using an actual mechanic.

And are there kinds that are not acceptable. For example, I'm thinking of homebrewing three transforming weapons, a gunblade based on Lightnings weapon in FF XIII, a long bow that can split up into two curved blades and a shield that can transform into a sword like weapon.

At first glance, I like the look of this Archetype.
However there's something I don't really get.

How do you justify this archetype being able to use Form of the Dragon III at level 14 as one of the druids wildshapes?

If I look at RAW, it means that a full Sorcerer with the Draconic Bloodline can cast the spell at level 17. If you would take the Dragon Disciple prestige class right at level 6, you would be able to use Form of the Dragon II as a spell-like ability at level 15, but would only have access to the Form of the Dragon I bonus spell.

Big Lemon, thanks for the reply, I'll take a look at UC then. And you're right about not needing a secondary class for making that concept work. The thing is we're doing a campaign using gestalt characters so having a secondary class comes in handy, especially since i'll be using the skill-monkey of the party.

I've been looking at Rogue, Ninja or Bard as secondary class. Even though my questions are answered now, I'm wondering if someone can tell me if a gun can work with the arcane bond class feature, especially when there's also the gunsmith ability of the gunslinger.

Does anyone have suggestions to balance the Dual Gun weapon as mentioned previously?

Do you have a link?

Byrdology,

Here's the link of Haseo in his Xth Form, including his signature weapon:

Link

Haseo is kind of a jack-of-all trades, his signature weapon allows him to both fire bullets and make melee attacks.

Hey all,

My friends and I are starting a new campaign, they came with the idea to play in a .Hack//G.U. based world, which sounds pretty cool, seeing I played that game a lot, the campaign/setting is not a real problem. We're also playing gestalts just to try it out.

I hope people can give me suggestion for 2 things I'm thinking about:

1. I want to create a NPC that is based on Haseo as he is in Volume 3, his Xth Form. What kind of class combination would you think could work for him?

2. What would be a balanced way to implement his signature weapon, the Dual Guns in Pathfinder?

spells published in another source, like campaign setting material,

or spells made up by the GM for their own setting (or on top of Paizo's)
or spells 'researched' by some players with the GM's interaction/approval...
the sorceror casts spells from the wizard/sorceror list, so if the spell isn't classed as a wiz/sorc spell, no-can-cast-ee...

So it's always from the sorcerer/wizard list, unless it's from a different source(though usually it would list it as a sorcerer/wizard spell?), GM-created or player-creayed spell

Thanks for clearing that up

1 person marked this as FAQ candidate.

I've got a question concerning the Sorcerer. It's about the following text:

At each new sorcerer level, she gains one or more new spells, as indicated on Table: Sorcerer Spells Known. (Unlike spells per day, the number of spells a sorcerer knows is not affected by her Charisma score; the numbers on Table: Sorcerer Spells Known are fixed.) These new spells can be common spells chosen from the sorcerer/wizard spell list, or they can be unusual spells that the sorcerer has gained some understanding of through study.

The spells chosen from the sorcerer/wizard spell list are pretty clear to me, but what are the unusual spells that the sorcerer has gained some understanding of through study?

Iron Man is a Synthesist Summoner that got some blasty spells on his spell list, either by trading out other spells or using a race like Samsaran to just plain add them in.

Thor is a Magus or Fighter/Sorc/Eldritch Knight, and has at least 10 HD on everyone else, except maybe the Hulk.

Spiderman is hard to make out of PF classes... Probably synthesist, but nothing really fits.

Human Torch should really either be a Pyrokineticist or Elemental Savant, both 3E prestige classes.

Invisible Woman: Ninja?

Jean Grey: Telepath psion, or Witch.

I didn't even think of the Synthesist Summoner for Iron Man, but that would make sense.

Spiderman is hard to make yeah, i went with those, because of his agility, and sometimes stealthy skills.

For Thor I went with that, seeing most of his "magical" powers are derived from his hammer, I agree with the 10 HD, both, now that you mention the Magus and Fighter/Sorc/EK, they seem to fit as well.

The ninja class seems valid

I tried to go with the classes mentioned in the first post(the PF classes) though I messed up when I used the Psion class.

Though I agree with those classes.

here's some more:

Link: Ranger or Ranger/Sorc/Arcane Archer, depending on what game.

Zelda: Sorcerer, Ninja, or Ranger/Sorc/Arcane Archer, depending on what game.

Deadpool: Fighter or Ranger with firearms and katana's, though there is his Teleportation Device, either mixed with sorcerer or just a magic item that let's him teleport

Netto Hikari(and Rockman.EXE): Synthesist Summoner

Beet the Vandel Buster (and the rest of the cast): Magus (though their Saiga's resemble the Paladin's Bonded Weapon)

Elemental Benders from Avatar: Oracle (as stated in a different topic)

Dastan (Prince of Persia Movie): Noble/Ranger

Dr. Doom: Sorcerer

Black Cat: Ninja

How about some marvel characters? :)

Hulk: Barbarian (obviously)
Captain America: Fighter
Hawkeye: Ranger
Iron Man: This one's tricky, any character wearing a construct as armor?
Thor: Fighter or Barbarian
Black Widow: Gunslinger or Monk/Ranger

Wolverine: Barbarian or Ranger (maybe a multiclass or gestalt of those two)
Spider-Man: Rogue/Monk or maybe Ranger
Storm: Sorcerer (Elemental/Stormborn) or Oracle (Wind)
Dr. Strange: Sorcerer
Human Torch: Sorcerer (Elemental) or Oracle (Fire)
Invisible Woman: Sorcerer i think?
Jean Grey: Sorcerer (Elemental)/Psionic gestalt?

___

Garnet/Dagger from Final Fantasy IX: Summoner/Cleric
Ryu from Breath of Fire: Magus

ok can't think of anything else atm

About Konketsu

Orphaned at a young age in the archipelago known as Minata, in distant Tian Xia, Konketsu was taken in and raised by the nearly mute and mysterious traders known in the Inner Sea as Sweettalkers. Sworn to never speak a word lest they speak the true name of their god, Konketsu learned to read and write, but not to speak. Instead, he adopted their manner of clicks, whistles and grunts to communicate. His name means "of mixed blood", and while a pejorative term of sorts, it is the only name he has ever known.

Upon reaching the age of 16, Konketsu underwent the ceremonial binding of lips. Four incisions were made in his upper lip and three in his lower, with a leather strap threaded between them to hold his lips closed. When he was twenty he started accompanying trade caravans as a porter and then guard. He made his first trip to Avistan when he was twenty-eight, reaching a final destination in The City of Strangers, Kaer Maga.
