Appearance and Personality:

Aelwyn is a (relatively) young Elf female, with a typical light elven build and fine features. Her sparkling emerald-green eyes are striking against her fair skin and long blond hair — a legacy of her Eladrin ancestry — which she often pulls back, away from her face so it doesn't interfere with her aim, and to partially cover her pointed ears when she is trying to blend in with human society.

Like most elves, Aelwyn wears well-fitted yet comfortable clothing made of natural materials, typically a cloak, tunic, and trousers with tall brown suede boots, and leather armor. She dresses in greens, blues, and browns to blend in with her forest home. Despite the simplicity of her clothing, Aelwyn enjoys embellishing her dress with fine embroidery, beads, jewelry, or other tokens in her spare time, and takes pride in her creativity and ability to make even mundane items beautiful.

On the surface, Aelwyn comes across as enthusiastic, light-hearted and, at times, flighty, due to her apparent disregard for "clock-time" and detachment from the concerns of more time-bound creatures. She values nature, beauty, love, art, creativity, and self-expression in all its forms. She has a good sense of humor and enjoys a good joke — and an occasional prank. At the same time, she is highly introspective and observant, as evidenced by the sketches and writings in her journal, and many come to respect her wisdom and insight that come from decades of experiences. Despite her striving for perfection, particularly in the arts and archery, Aelwyn is highly tolerant and respectful of others and their boundaries, affording them the space to make decisions and lead their lives as they please.

Background:

Aelwyn remembers clearly the destruction and desolation resulting from the war ten years before; she lost people, trees, and animals that were dear to her heart. Her people have long been guardians of the Witchwood, and have spent much of the past decade replanting and repairing the damage that was done by the monsters' attack. A decade ago, Aelwyn was considered too young and inexperienced to take part in defending the forest, but in the time since, she has become a highly skilled archer and is now ready to begin her first wanderings in the world away from home.

As a result of her archery and combat training, Aelwyn is surprisingly strong and dextrous — even for an elf — and has always been recognized for her independence and fearlessness. Even before the latest attacks began, the elves' elders saw the signs of a new conflict and sent Aelwyn to warn the humans and relay any relevant information back to the elves. From there, she is free to follow whatever path opens before her, which she plans to do with her characteristic elan and vivaciousness.
