Adriel looks on but does not move, standing in a relaxed manner with a hands at his sides and not near his weapon. He had not judged the character of these men but was familiar with lawmen so rigid that it was not hard to find oneself forever offside.

He was relaxed, but his sword was merely his most OBVIOUS weapon...

Adriel awaits his turn and for the commander to look at him to speak.
He did not salute, because he was a Sellsword and had never held any official rank, but he knew soldiers did not expect nor accept salutes from civilians.

He had not spoken at their last encounter.
But the chain shirt, Masterwork Scimitar and assorted weapons would have left no doubt that he was the warrior of the group.

Whem we arrived at the village it was clear the bloodshed that had been wrought there. The place has been visited even after your prisoner was taken. We found our witness and began tracking back to the were-sharks hut, though at the time we had no idea what we would find. We came across bloodied remains along the trail and were attacked by carnivorous plants called vegie pygmies though whether they were responsible for or simply drawn to the remains I know not. When we arrived at the hut we found a man but when he became aware of us shifted into a human shark hybrid. It was the strength of magic which brought him down. We tied him up and kept him under sword watch until we brought him here. He has been talking of vengeance and sharks and old gods the entire time. Asked repeatedly for us to come close enough so he could whisped the secret in our ear. I think he just wanted to bite someone's head off.

The elf finishes and waits for any direct questions. ...

Since their fighter had decided that a were shark and a killer, along with saving an innocent man was apparently not important enough from a man who supposedly supported the Dawnflower, to break from his day, Adriel kept a close grip on the bonds of the Sharkman, though he kept his sword sheathed since he was satisfied he could kill the man with spell and his fists should he attempt to shift out of his bonds.

Adriel looks skeptical at the bard's reply.
Do find a way to tighten his purse, rather than loosen them, so far I have seen him hire just about everyone he has met. I have expected him to offer the were-shark a job.

Adriel continues the walk, Well, at least he has no qualms about standing at the front. I think we might need a contract bequeathing all our wealth to the company should we die. That way we can be sure his share doesn't go to wasted on one of his crusades. To be clear we're all in this for profit yes?

Just playing the group a$$.
Adriel is slow to make friends since he is so vain but Astri and Embrianna are firmly in his Friend catagory.

Sorrin is not, for though Adriel advocated the man's skill and calm, he seems determinedto not relax ever. Normally Adriel simply would forget him, but Sorrin has fairly strongly injected himself into the group, threatening the size of Adriel's cut.

Adriel and Thrasher walk a brisk pace with the girls as they head to the meeting.
Not sure the 3 of us combined have the strength to remove the stick from his a$$. Are you two certain we should allow him to join our partnership? At least our previous companions were fun. The man is clearly skilled but what does he offer beyond a blade that warrants an equal share? Good swords are common enough, he offers nothing in terms of diplomacy that Astrianna cannot do better. He is a newcomer as much as we so has no contacts. Why are we letting him just join in? Hells, the man half thinks he's in charge.

Adriel was obviously flustered. Ordinarily someone as Boring as Sorrin would not give the sellsword pause, but the implications of ANOTHER partner would affect his cut of profit and THAT concerned him greatly.

Absolutely. Be as much of a free thinker as you wish. Your thoughts will keep you company instead of all those friends you don't have. In the meantime, we will be bonding and enjoying each others company, if you wish to be infallible and ultimately, forgettable go right ahead.

He pushes a water in front of the fighter, since it was doubtful the honorable man actually partook.
We have the pressing matter of saving a man's life AND acquiring this ship you were oh so keen to share with us. You wish to be part of the group, then BE part of the group. You are skilled with a blade even if your wit is dull. You will find a way to fit in. Or not.

The elf moves to see if the women were ready to leave. He did not mince words, but the offer was made.

Adriel drinks water and smiles at the fighter as the man attempts to leave.
Don't be so quick to leave dear Sorrin, we might get the impression you don't like us, which will ruin any chance you have of learning what FUN is. All this work has left little time for play, but patience. This group could teach even you to enjoy yourself.

Adriel books in and will be more than happy to share a room with either, preferably BOTH of the women. He does make sure to indicate the note to Em.

He did have the extra money needed for Thrashers armor and would prefer to pick it up if time allowed, but prioritized getting his spells prepared for the day.

You need to be armed. At least take a dagger. Knowing you, I doubt you'll stay in my view at all times.

He looks at Embrianna, I would NEVER choke you unless you asked by the way. Now, shall we join the others and see if we can save a life whilst serving our interests? I believe we have a ship to aquire.

I assure you both had I the slightest indication the two of you REALLY wanted to play, the door would be arcane locked and all thoughts of were sharks and hangings would be gone from my mind. You two, however, both love the tease as much as the game. Astri, keep your sword on. Pack the rest INTO the haversack and I'll carry it in exchange for a kiss. Sellsword , remember? Nothing is free.

He acts serious but the smirk betrayed the joke. He considered these two of his closest friends. Not that he had many, but still...

Now? And here I hoped this was a prelude to a scandalous encounter where our cries would draw the attention of the clergy? Remind these stiffs of what they give up with their vows foreswearing anything fun.

The magus buckles on his scimitar and replaces his cestus on his hands.

As Em and Astri enter the room, Thrasher, who was sitting on the Window sill, and watching over his master, raises his head at the women's entry, but since they were allies lowers his head again and merely imparts a feeling similar to the one the dino felt when he was about to mate.

The master has an empathic link with his familiar to a 1 mile distance. The master can communicate empathically with the familiar, but cannot see through its eyes. Because of the link's limited nature, only general emotions can be shared. The master has the same connection to an item or place that his familiar does.

If the Elf had detected their presence he did not show it through when Bri takes up her intended position across him, it was immediately apparent he was in a certain mental and physical state.

He keeps his eyes closed and like lightning whips her around in a vice like grip somehow ending with the two of them standing, with him behind her and her held in tightly against his body. One hand was about her waist and the other around her neck in a soft caress, but one that could have easily turned into a choke if he wished.

He whispwrs in her ear, more than aware of the viper that was always on her person somewhere.
Oh, how can I ever move on from this group with two succubai, so aware of my weakness, constantly keeping me on leash. Am I a fool, Rose? Does the closer to me I pull you, only bring me closer to a bite?

He lets her go and smiles.
Should you pair ever decide to kill me, use the same approach of attack I beg. There is surely no better way to die, than beneath the waist of a beautiful woman

Adriel is around to make money and bang hot chicks (kidding).
Being an Ass he expects and equal share of the veture and as he understands it the PARTY is buying the boat together and Sorrin can get lost if he thinks he is in charge.

Adriel is a soldier for hire and Sorrin is the newcomer, so If no one objects Adriel won't mind sharing expenses, but it is the GROUP who decides the jobs the ship and crew takes on.

Equal costs, equal split.

Adriel tried to remain alert to the surronds as well as the prisoner, allowing himself a bit of relief now and again with Embrianna.
It was clear to all assembled the Magus took his job very seriously when he believed a genuine threat existed.

He made sure the shark man was kept directly in the center of the boat and had him remaining bound and laying down either on his belly or back, so that if he even attepmted to get up it would take some effort.
Sorrin, you seem a competent sailor. Make sure our friend's lanyard line in securely tied to the mast.

Adriel pulls the shark thing along with his blade in one hand leading and the other behind him dragging the rope, he tried to keep the pace uncomfortable for the bound creature, figuring the less rest he got the less likely he was to escape.
He held the charge in his blade hand.
If it did attack, he was in for a rude SHOCK.

A caged lion is not evil priestess, yet if one was one a rampage I would put it down without blinking. Worse, there are those in this world capable of true evil for simple pleasure. If I found an unrepentant Cleric of Zon Kuthion or Asmodeus here, naked and bound and 'no threat' as you put it, they would be dead and I would lose no sleep over it. I am a pragmatist beyond all else. But it must be nice to have a god do your thinking for you. If he escapes and kills again, you can simply call it your gods will then.
Or when he denies being a shark and if the innocent man hangs, you can tell his family you needed to question a monster. Perhaps an easy decision when it's not your neck in the noose.

The elf leans down a little but still keeps his blade leveled at the Shark thing. Try to escape. Please. I only need a flinch to kill you.

I am cool with in party arguing.
Adds to the story.
Happens in real life, but having been a soldier I understand at some point someone with make a decision and everyone else has to deal with it.

At Chell's question about detecting magic he states, Em or Astri can.

He did not bother to mention he HAD prepared that spell today. But he continued to hold the charge on his shocking grasp, he could do so indefinitely but if he cast another spell before releasing the Shocking Grasp he would lose it.- though he hands Sorrin his Scabbard back.

He does remark to Chell, somewhat flippantly, Does it bother you that bu staying my hand, you may have saved a murderer and condemned an innocent man to death, I wonder how you bleeding hearts sleep with all those tough ethical decisions.

Adriel casts SHOCKING GRASP and holds the charge. With it in hand he holds his other out for the sheath. I'll add a spell to the damage to ensure it's enough...ask the girl now. We haven't long..

Awaiting confirmation the shark is evil:
Adriel motions for the Scabbard. He places his own blade within.
Keep your sword. Ready yourselves if this doesn't work
He sets his feet at the shoulder and head and a full step back allowing for his reach and the downward angle, then holding the sword in scabbard to his front horizontally, like lighting he pulls the blade commanding the scabbard to bestow it's strongest enchant +4and adding his own +1Flaming, swift action and tossing the scabbard aside as he brings his hands down, reversing the blade to sink tip first and drive through the neck, wrenching it from side to side to try and separate the head from neck.

Auto crit: 1d6 + 3 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 3 + 5 = 10
Shocking Grasp: 5d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 5, 3, 1) = 19
2x 20 damage, 38 electric
Flaming: 1d6 ⇒ 6

Total Damage=64. That likely won't kill it outright. It needs to make a DC64 Fort Save or Die.

Agreed. Beheading works fine with me. Though sadly the only Alchemical Silver weapon I have is my Cesti

He holds up a gloved hand.
I could pummel him to death but this is hardly appropriate for a beheading. I only have a Masterwork Scimitar. But of anyone has a magic weapon I can use my arcane pool to enchant it enough so the material won't matter.

Adriel walks around the girls and the dead remains to AK14 and slices at the Vegepygmy. More like a man with a Machete hacking a bush than the usual grace je displayed.

adriel don't you need to make fly checks, you've hovering correct? otherwise you draw AOO of opportunities and if you are moving less than half you speed, or making 180 degree turns darting in and out those all require checks.

Thanks. Been awhile since I read the rules on flight. Didn't recall Hover being classed as difficult. I know 180 degree turns in the same round count. I end up posting from my phone 90% of the time because you guys are on between 8-12pm and 6-10am my time, which generally coincides with bedtime or work which means either no computer in bed or not allowed to use a work PC for games. Apologies, I am generally a bit more rules savvy. Will include the checks now.

Adriel flies across AJ13 to AN13, maintaining his current elevation of 5ft
The movement is straight and worth 20ft, less than 1/2 of his 60ft fly speed. DC10, flying over the head of the enemy AM13 would need a check since the creature would threathen the square above it.
FLY DC10: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Acrobatics-DC equals opponent CMD to avoid AOO: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Now having a flank with Embrianna, the elf attempts to set her foe alight with his blade.
