M Elf Hexcrafter 4 (AC17/12/15), 45/45HP, F6/R3/W6+8vs enchantment, Per+10/ +2Thrasher, Init+4

I am on going to bed early because I fly out for my day shift in the morning.

For those who don't know, I work fly in, fly out of an Iron Ore mine. 1 week on, 1 week off. Alternating between days and nights. I can post but not on shift unless I sneak my phone in and work takes a dim view of that. Hence I post 3-6 times a day within limited hours.

M Elf Hexcrafter 4 (AC17/12/15), 45/45HP, F6/R3/W6+8vs enchantment, Per+10/ +2Thrasher, Init+4

Not a bad clip for Adriel.

Though after level 5 he'd just fly over the laser field. Lol.

M Elf Hexcrafter 4 (AC17/12/15), 45/45HP, F6/R3/W6+8vs enchantment, Per+10/ +2Thrasher, Init+4

Adriel pulls her out and closes the door.
The mould is not attacking us and the ship is not seaworthy with it's presence. Let's take what we can from the chartroom and leave. The sooner the better, how can we know Darius has not already left?

Adriel had no intention of burning the vessel if it could be avoided. But he needed to get these fools off and safely. He was the best fighter on the ship so nobody was dying on his watch.

M Elf Hexcrafter 4 (AC17/12/15), 45/45HP, F6/R3/W6+8vs enchantment, Per+10/ +2Thrasher, Init+4

Astri, do you need a hand, if not I'll check the other door in front of Henk.
The elf waits on a word....

M Elf Hexcrafter 4 (AC17/12/15), 45/45HP, F6/R3/W6+8vs enchantment, Per+10/ +2Thrasher, Init+4

Not sure how it happend but I ended up past you. Old, shredded Charts and Navigation gear in here. Someone might be able to piece together where she has been...

M Elf Hexcrafter 4 (AC17/12/15), 45/45HP, F6/R3/W6+8vs enchantment, Per+10/ +2Thrasher, Init+4

Adriel uses a standard action to move (drawing his Scimitar as he goes) catch up with Astri and Henk, calling out as he goes. Oi! The damn florr swallowed me and spat me into the chart room. The place is haunted. I just found my way out of the chart room

A thought occurs to him and he asks Thrasher, Do you know your way around this ship?

M Elf Hexcrafter 4 (AC17/12/15), 45/45HP, F6/R3/W6+8vs enchantment, Per+10/ +2Thrasher, Init+4

Holding My standard till I look out the door. What do I see.

M Elf Hexcrafter 4 (AC17/12/15), 45/45HP, F6/R3/W6+8vs enchantment, Per+10/ +2Thrasher, Init+4

I opened a door last round. What do I see?

Baldwin:
Will save, add 2vs enchant: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Adriel uses the candle to find a Wall sconce or a torch he can take with him. He needs a hand free to open the door so he sheathes his sword and opens the door (not that it mattered weapon wise, he was wearing 2 cesti on his hands) to let some proper light in.

The elf knows Thrasher shouldn't be able to talk, ESPECIALLY not in common, but the place was clearly magic or haunted and Thrasher was not hostile so he played along, but he knew something was up.

Of COURSE he is a coward. That's why he uses a reach weapon. Afraid to close with an enemy. Now, how do we get out of here? We need to take a few charts and get back to the captain. Darius will betray the captain if his fear gets the better of him

M Elf Hexcrafter 4 (AC17/12/15), 45/45HP, F6/R3/W6+8vs enchantment, Per+10/ +2Thrasher, Init+4

Baldwin:
Do I see a way out? Or a candle for ongoing light source? Also Thrasher and I can't properly speak to each other till level 5. Messages are empathetic only. Either you made an error of he is speaking when he shouldn't and possibly possessed/controlled?

M Elf Hexcrafter 4 (AC17/12/15), 45/45HP, F6/R3/W6+8vs enchantment, Per+10/ +2Thrasher, Init+4

Adriel grumbles and starts to fish around in his Backpack for his Flint and steel. He could use a few sparks to illuminate the room a bit and get a glimpse of the way out or light a candle or torch if there is one. He continues to hold the charge on his touch spell. Something was going to get a nasty surprise when he finally hit something.

M Elf Hexcrafter 4 (AC17/12/15), 45/45HP, F6/R3/W6+8vs enchantment, Per+10/ +2Thrasher, Init+4

Adriel rues his luck, and is thankful Thasher remained with him.
Steady Friend.

He rues that he didn't prepare LIGHT today.

Adriel hustles over to where Astri is and leapfrogs her to head down, pausing at the steps to make sure he doesn't fall like Henk did.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
He stops in L1

He maintains the spell in his hamds

What round are we in? My shield spell will last till round 10.

Hold your tongue woman. Rushing is the very reason you lost to me. You don't like the way I do things, go follow 'SIR' Darius. He has the captain's bootlaces. If you won't learn to fight off a REAL warrior go pretend to be one.

He was above her swordplay and she beneath his concern. He moves along towards the bow but keeps an ear for Darius' group. Surely he would get them in trouble.

M Elf Hexcrafter 4 (AC17/12/15), 45/45HP, F6/R3/W6+8vs enchantment, Per+10/ +2Thrasher, Init+4

Rd2: Be ready, Everyone.
A quick gesture and Daniel casts RIME FROSTBITE and holds the charge, his hands frost over just a little at the contained cold magic. He moves to B3

You can hold the charge on a touch spell indefinitely as long as I don't cast another spell. I get 4 uses at this level.

Let's do it!

M Elf Hexcrafter 4 (AC17/12/15), 45/45HP, F6/R3/W6+8vs enchantment, Per+10/ +2Thrasher, Init+4

Adriel stares at the wreck as the order to move aboard is given, his ever present familiar Thrasher, in his customary position has his talons dug firmly into his pauldron. Quiet friend, stay close.

The magus moves forward with his scimitar in hand and his wand of SHIELD firmly set in it's Quickdraw Sheath.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 10 + 2 = 14
Thrasher Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29

When the fog suddenly appears from nowhere he pulls his wand and casts SHIELD.

M Elf Hexcrafter 4 (AC17/12/15), 45/45HP, F6/R3/W6+8vs enchantment, Per+10/ +2Thrasher, Init+4

Adriel catches this comment as he comes back with his bow.
You're assuming I will leave anything for you to kill. Best part of scouting is getting a head start on the action.

Aye captain.

Adriel was already in his Leather Lamellar and had his sword, but ducked away to get the rest of his weapons, Prepare for anything. Watch Henk. He doesn't like you.

Thrasher Perception: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 10 + 2 = 28

The elf moves up the nearest point at the railing to glean what he may, casting DETECT MAGIC as he moves...
Fairly menacing. I wonder if it holds treasure or terrors?
He gives Thrasher a scratch.

Centuries. Looks it. How many books do you read, Hawkins? You should take up proper wizardry. You might even make a passable Eldritch Knight.

Non Lethal Attack: 1d20 + 6 - 4 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 6 - 4 + 2 = 22 Adriel wins

A couple more attacks back and forth and it is over.
Not bad, Songbird. But I still think your swordplay is the lesser of your talents and you are NOT my equal with a blade. Good yes. Perhaps you'd like a PROPER discussion of my true evaluation of your talent over dinner? I meant no offense the other day. A warparty with a bard ia FAR more dangerous for their presence, but it I that Beautiful voice that holds the key, not your arm

M Elf Hexcrafter 4 (AC17/12/15), 45/45HP, F6/R3/W6+8vs enchantment, Per+10/ +2Thrasher, Init+4

CRAP! FORGOT! RETCON

...The magus parries her blade high, rotates and aims another swipe at her rear, but the bard is wise to his antics and manages to pull out of the line of attack.

Close, dear.

M Elf Hexcrafter 4 (AC17/12/15), 45/45HP, F6/R3/W6+8vs enchantment, Per+10/ +2Thrasher, Init+4

This evening should be on alot more.

M Elf Hexcrafter 4 (AC17/12/15), 45/45HP, F6/R3/W6+8vs enchantment, Per+10/ +2Thrasher, Init+4

The magus familiar hisses at the female and hops off his shoulder for the jostling was getting irritating.
He flaps high and starts circling above the pair, flexing his foot talons.

M Elf Hexcrafter 4 (AC17/12/15), 45/45HP, F6/R3/W6+8vs enchantment, Per+10/ +2Thrasher, Init+4

The magus parries another clusmy shot from the bard and works her blade high to her full reach, she was shorter than he, by a few inches. She was at full stretch and he was not. This time he reaches up with his free hand as if to try and disarm her. She overgrips to counter and the movement locks her arm up as the magus rolls around her back yet again. His blade slapping her backside once more.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 9 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 9 + 5 = 23
Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 6 + 2 = 16
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
That's two pats with the same Maneuver, Songbird. If I were actually using spell combat you would be dead by now. The danager is not the sword, it's the spell that comes with the hit. would be happy to offer coaching over dinner?

Astrianna:
Not using Magic? Hardly a true test, since blending sword and spell is EXACTLY how a Magus fights. You didn't come here to spar, you want to dance.

The beutiful half elf was quick and had gotten the first swing, a poor attempt that Adriel allowed to turn his blade out so that he could roll around her back and slap her rump with the blunt side of his sword.
Acrobatics,Daredevil Boots: 1d20 + 9 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 9 + 5 = 22
Attack: 1d20 + 6 - 4 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 6 - 4 + 2 = 16A hit
Non lethal damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Let's use the normal rules.

Had you asked for a formal lesson on dancing I would have happily oblidged.

Embrianna:
Ahh, but dear Rose has denied to explain her inner fears, therefore she is fearless as she seams and the strength of her heart is as great as her beauty. 2. Dear Rose does NOT consider poor Adriel a friend worthy of her confidence and he should forgo further pursuit of the goddess or 3. Rose DOES wish to confide her fears and fall into the arms of the rogue swordsman, but fears handsome Adriel is less than sincere in his advances. In all 3 cases the course is the same. Adriel must continue to try to win the heart of his paramore, else he must die wondering WHY she never chose to reveal her fears and hopes. Or at least wait for an opportunity to get his Rose sufficiently enibriated so that in her reduced capacity, he might LEARN the secret among drunken ramblings. In either case it would appear this one has work ahead of him. My Lady, as always your heart remains elusive.
The elf moved on. He WAS working after all and he could look forward to beong close to her later.

The elf raises a brow, Are you ready to take that bet are you? If so I take it you don't want me to hold back? After that speech about being equal to me, I would dishonor you by holding back and my inflated pride would be oh, so wounded if I were to lose. If you are certain, very well.

The elf steps to the side and asks any nearby mates to clear the floor.
He starts 10feet away and bows, allowing her to take up a similar position.
Flats of the blade, use whatever spells you wish. By the rules I believe we BOTH accept a -4 to attack to use regular weapons for non lethal damage.

GO!

Darius:
I'd be lying if I did not say I was disappointed to miss out on the officer rank. I am glad at least if I had to miss out, it was to a true warrior. I will be happy to offer what I may, friend

Adriel does wear his gear during the daytime.
A leather lamellar is very light and comfortable, he will have his sword on his belt and boot daggers in along with his wrist sheath that holds his wand of shield.
But he doesn't wear either of his cesti or carry his bow, pick or hammer.

At night he will sleep in his leggings and no shirt. A dagger within easy reach.

In response to Hawkins speech to Adriel:
The talk in the Captain's office was finished so I'll assume this takes place after dinner.
The elf laughs, What was I after? Gold my friend, lots of it, as much as much as can be squeezed from the T!+s of the great mother that is life. I am a Sellsword and I give a great damn deal about whose best with a blade because if I am not the best and don't run with allies who are damn good then you die in my line of work. I intend to be around for a very long time and enjoy every damned minute I am here.
I am a greedy, vain and charming killer for hire.

That Darius is damn good at what he does and he doesn't mind a drink so I like him.
That's the limit of my irredeemable qualities and I make no apologies for it. Life takes me or leaves me.
Now, your impassioned speech tells me you are a good man, maybe even an altruist. But despite your pretty feelings I can see how well worn that hilt of yours is. You have killed. That makes you a killer. An idealistic one but still a killer.
Would you want a man at your side protecting your flank who you KNEW was not up to the task. Who would let you and your friends down and get himself and maybe his allies killed? No. But I'm guessing you'd be nice about it.
I am more blunt that that.
A fool is a fool and sugarcoating the truth doesn't help someone improve.
I may be greedy but what will tell you now is I do not lie.
I do not break contracts, even for a higher sum. Once I have signed on for a job, it gets done and I will fight dirty if that is what it takes. I am a MAGUS for the heaven's sake. Fighting unfairly is what I do.
Money or Friends get my loyalty and my Friendship is not for sale.
Right now if the Captain offered me a worthwhile sum I would throw your a$$ overboard and not blink about it. But I am starting to like you and your nice speeches, Sawbones. Get to the point where I would actually call you friend and the captain could offer me all of Cheliax and instead I'd kill him for the suggestion of harming a friend.
You think on if you want someone like that with you until we get to the Razor Coast.
IF I aren't hired for some great some for another job between then and know, well I might just throw in for a business venture so long as you all prove competent in your fields, like Darius has.
Until then, I barely know you, other than the fact you seem to be a Good man. I don't dislike anyone. But I am as loyal as a dog to my friends.
Drink with me, train and see where we end up. You decide I am not worth your time, that's YOUR problem not mine. If you need to settle an issue, you'll find out WHY I care so much about being good with a sword. Till then the Captain pays me and my job is to help out and kill people who threaten the crew. That includes protecting you.

The elf offers one of the two Rum servings he had in his hand (the second HAD meant to be for Rose), if the Sawbones accepts he'll happily drink and trade stories. If not, he'll walk away and find the Witch as was his intent before the Doctor came over to talk.

The elf had responded to the bell faster than most, an advantage of using light armor was not getting fatigued enough by its weight, that he rarely took it off.

As before, on patrol he shows up looking stern and serious. It was becoming clear his haughtiness disappeared when he was 'on the job'
The head of his jittery familiar darted back and forth at the scrambling crew, unsure what the running meant but the creature was clearly hostile at this moment.

He finds Darius, Drill or we fighting?

M Elf Hexcrafter 4 (AC17/12/15), 45/45HP, F6/R3/W6+8vs enchantment, Per+10/ +2Thrasher, Init+4

Ha. Ha.

Incidently, Adriel DOES in fact have a reason for putting up his facade, in his back story if anyone cares to read.

Meantime, his immediate goal is to charm his way into the heart and or beds of the women in the party. Salt just got added to the list.

Trying to have him be that kind of guy that mothers warn their daughters about. But they somehow end up in bed with him anyway.

Note: Not that I am like that. Was a nerd in a jocks body in school. Married my first serious girlfriend (love at first sight) after proposing 3 months into the relationship and 13 years later, have 3 beautiful kids and still follow my gorgeous wife around like a puppy.

M Elf Hexcrafter 4 (AC17/12/15), 45/45HP, F6/R3/W6+8vs enchantment, Per+10/ +2Thrasher, Init+4

Then for now, let us defer to brother Darius' wisdom and take our discussions outside. Captain.
The elf bows and heads for the door, pausing in front of Salt before walking out.
You have me figured out completely good 'Lady', I am a battered, flawed and Scarred creature, but if you'll only make the effort to tear down my walls of charm and overconfidence you'll come to learn HOW I became so. Were I so genuinely full of honesty like you, that I could present myself to the world as I truly am. One day perhaps you'll get close enough to see the scared inner child. Till then perhaps you could try a bodice? I found you thoroughly uninteresting before, but now? Now I am curious.

With that he finishes and walks out and waits for Embrianna.
Forgive me dear Rose, it seems I have frightened off the Songbird with a bet. As one of my only 2 friends on this vessel I implore you to expound my good intentions to her, for I fer my playfulness has been mistaken for vanity. For now I go to find a proper bunk, hopefully near yours so that I may linger near a beautiful mind who understands the depth of the mysteries our gifts both bless and curse us with. I will see you later, do not let our surly allies ruin YOUR wonderful demeanor.

He will kiss her hand if allowed and take his leave.

I'll sap the back of his skull myself." Astrianna is clearly getting defensive about even the most inconsequential slight towards her.

The fact people would perceive you as a pair of t!+s is a huge advantage when you are so much more than you appear. It's a man's world and your perceived weakness is a weapon.
