Can this thread I started be locked? It's turning into something I never intended and going down an angry graar path. I'd rather not have something I started contribute to that.

Howdy IT dudes!

For a while now, I've been noticing something messed up about the 'Hide' function, and thought I might finally mention it to y'all. There are plenty of older threads that I had already hidden at some point, that are now starting to reappear. Some of them are just things I had no interest in. Some of them are troll threads. Some are threads that were locked forever ago.

Anyway, I was wondering if this was a flaw or a feature? Is it just built into the design that old threads which haven't seen action in a long while get "unhidden"? Or is that a kind of unforeseen loop whole? Or is it only designed to hide X number of threads, and once you pass that threshold number, things get wonky and start intruding back into sight? I've only ever noticed it in the Off-Topic section. Not sure if anyone else has noticed it elsewhere.

Wherein I discuss comic book related things…..

I’ve been a comic book collector for around 30 something years. It started with my maternal grandmother buying me an issue of Marvel’s G. I. Joe that caught my eye. Now I have 20+ long boxes worth – maybe a couple thousand? Some great stuff in there, including Crisis on Infinite Earths, a first printing of The Killing Joke, a good bit of autographed stuff, and so on…..

Not too long ago, I finally determined I’d get more serious about my storage, so I purchased a set of Comic Cubes. Each was two rows of drawers high by four drawers across, for a total of eight. In beginning to transfer my comics into the Cubes, I’ve been coming across older stories that I love. I thought it might be cool to share my thoughts on some of that stuff.

Be warned, there will be spoilers. Although, is it really a spoiler if the information is older than some of the posters hereabouts? Anyway, if you don’t like that, don’t read any further.

So, without further ado….

The Very Sleepy Princess

Once upon a time, there was a king whose vast wealth made him the envy of all other realms. He protected his treasure by locking it away in a vault surrounded by magic flowers.

"Be warned," the king said to his daughter, the princess, "For those these flowers are beautiful to behold, their thorns are deadly. One little prick, and you shall fall into a deep sleep where the Lord of Nightmares will find you and gobble you up."

The princess refused to believe her father, and while playing near the vault one day, pricked her finger on a flower. Immediately, she fell into a deep sleep.

Then the Lord of Nightmare found her dreaming mind, gobbled it up, and used her dying body as a portal into the waking world. Once there, he killed everybody.

The End.

Order #3575952shows as submitted 16 May 2015 and containing a Dungeons Deep case, a gargantuan red dragon, and my subscription AP#24 (twice, as package 1of2 and 2of2). It shows status complete, with the AP copies already shipped and the case & gargantuan red moved to...

Order 3594256 showing as submitted today and containing the minis case and gargantuan red. Status is pending.

This past Wednesday I received notification for Order 3575959, submitted 4 June 2015 and containing only my subscription AP#94 copy (just one this time). Status showing as complete.

I just wanted to make sure there wasn't some kind of glitch, especially with regard to the subscription AP copy. From the looks of these orders, it seems like I was charged three times for it. Also, I'm not sure how my minis order ended up in my sidecart to begin with. I don't recall placing it there, although my computer has been glitching lately...

Anyway, if y'all could kindly clear up any confusion, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks, and kudos on y'alls always excellent customer service.

The wife and I are planning to go see this movie. I keep hearing great things about it. One article even quoted a critic as saying it was one of the best pro-war and best anti-war films in a long time.

Not to mention, I'm a long time fan of Clint Eastwood. As well, Bradley Cooper has really been growing on me.

So, has anyone around here seen it? Or plan on seeing it?

Feel free to leave something:

This morning, on the drive to daycare, the Pat Benetar song "Hit me with your best shot" was playing. My boy insisted she actually said "pet shop" instead of "best shot".

Occasionally, when we are outside, he will look up at the sky and start calling out to Arc Vader.

I don't suppose Paizo has a better way to track?

Anyone familiar with this writer, Michael Talbot?

I read an article the other day - a review of his book The Delicate Dependency: A Novel of Vampire Life. It's been reprinted after I guess a few years out of print. Sounded interesting.

Looks like the dude only wrote a handful of books before succumbing to leukemia at the age of 38.

Thoughts on his stuff? Opinions?

It hit me the other day....why not trained police bears? They have a far superior sense of smell to most (if not all) dogs. The intimidation factor would be much higher. Hollywood would love it - can you say "Grizzly Cop".

Paizofolk! I just wanted to say thank you for the Pathfinder Tales line.

Many year ago, I developed a table that showed books I wanted to purchase, the author, and the publishing date. I kept this in my cubicle at work, haning up so that I could see it everyday.

A few years back, one of my key sources of new reading material dried up and my list became sadly empty - not completely so, but more than it should have been.

With the advent of PF Tales I now have 4 more novels on that list (one of which is just waiting the fulfillment of an order).

So again, I thank you. Ya'll rock!

I loved the season 3 opener last night. Fantastic. Lots of zombie action! A big improvement over last season in just one episode.

Weird fact I learned today: The guy who plays Rick was in that movie Love Actually. He's the best friend in love with Kiera Knightley's character! HOLY S!#$!!! MIND = BLOWN!

For those who missed PaizoCon, he was impressive carrying around that special edition Rise of the Rune Lords. He looked every inch the cosmic entity capable of reducing the miniscule lives around him to dust with but the merest thought.

Plus, we need a new cult.

Those damn airlines are at it again. This time, they've gone into colusion with the shaving cream manufacturerers. Notice how you never see a travel size container of shaving cream? That's because the shaving cream makers stopped making them. That way, when you travel, you either have to pay for a checked bag with your shaving cream inside, or not bring any in your carry-on and buy some when you get where you're going, or bring it in your carry-on and it gets confiscated so you have to buy more.

I've always been a sucker for a good ghost story. Here's a link to a yahoo.com article about the supposedly haunted hotel owned by the family of Senator Rob Portman. I thought it was interesting.

I'm sure there are other good stories out there.

Based on a novel by James Patterson, and the same character as played by Morgan Freeman.

This seems to be a reboot, I suppose, with Tyler Perry in the title role. Judging from the trailer, though, this looks pretty f++#ing cool.

Being from New Orleans, a city with a rich history of excellent cuisine, I enjoy good food and have several favorites. So, what are people's favorites? Home made or restaurant, it doesn't matter.

Red Beans & Rice (a traditional Monday dish) is my absolute favorite meal in the entire universe.

A good stew is always a pleasure.

There was a restaurant back home called Bozo's that had some of the best Chicken and Andouille Sausage gumbo I've ever had the privilege to eat.

I'm a sucker for good Kung Pao Chicken.

And, of course, a discussion of food would not be complete without a mention of boiled crawfish.

Several members of the same alien race as E.T. make an appearance in the Galactic Senate in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace.

Rowlf the Dog was actually one of the first Muppets ever to appear on TV. Created in 1962, he first appeared in commercials for Purina Dog food, then went on the serve as sidekick to the title character on The Jimmy Dean show.

I'd read before that the story would likely be based on Warren Ellis' Extremis storyline, with people speculating that Mandarin would be the villain. However....

Ben Kingsley will be the Iron Man 3 baddie—but as who?

I love Ben Kingsley, and think he's a terrific actor, so this fills me with some hope. I think he does villain very well. I also think he plays smart, scientist type well. All in all, an interesting move.
