Hey, this is the Aaron that replied to your thread, JolarEQ. I want to let everyone know that we've had trouble in the past implementing ambiguities one way or the other based on forum consensus. For that reason, I tend to be pretty conservative when it comes to changing something in HL. I myself am not allowed to converse with the purple Paizo people personally, so it seemed a better solution to send you. That's why I asked you to investigate this issue and see if you could get an official response before making the change.

That said, my fellows here at Lone Wolf have checked into this as well now, and their consensus is that the issue isn't as ambiguous as I'd thought. So I made a bad call, was duely chastened, and I do apologize for the difficulty I put you into. I'll make the changes so that the two interact as you proposed.

Is there any way I could get an "Official" answer from one of the book authors or maybe an entry in the paizo FAQ?

The bonus feat and skill rank are not listed in the subtype description as abilities granted by the subtype, so taking the human subtype wouldn't grant those. But some subtypes grant class skills (Goblin grants Stealth) and racial abilities (Dwarf grants darkvision 60) specified in their description text.

Affinities are gained through living some place. It isn't a class feature.

Basically it is a means of limiting a feat to a particular region of the galorian world.

However you can gain an affinity for a place by living there two years and spending a point in Knowledge(local) iirc.

Ok, that answers my question. Thanks a lot.

It is listed as a prerequisite for the Mounted Blade feat from Qadira, Gateway to the East. And what class grants it?

Awesome, thanks for the answer.

The Talmandor's Fury ability states 1/day you gain a fear aura out to 30 feet and allow allies to reroll saves vs charm/compulsion/possession. How long does the fear aura last? Is it 1 round? 1 minute? The encounter?

I did not get the impression the aura was permanent Hank, or else why would it list uses per day?

I would like to know if an Errata exists for this book... Specifically, how long does the Steel Falcon's Talmandor's Fury ability last?

I bet Raistlin would incinerate him faster than Gnimsh.

PC's Name: Klipper Goatjumper
Race: Kender
Class: Rogue
Level: 2
Circumstances of Death: Party was caught in an entangle spell cast on an area with thornbushes (dealing 1 point of damage per rd to entangled creatures), everyone had escaped except the poor Str 7 wizard. Everyone was pretty beat up by the previous encounter, and only our fearless kender friend selflessly threw himself back in to save the wizard. Managed to cut his friend free and shove him clear of the spell, but failed his save and was entangled to death just short of safety himself.

Setting:Homebrew Dragonlance (Different Continent, Post War of the Lance, Pre-Second Cataclysm)

Come to think of it, Palin Majere would probably make a better Veep than Sarah Palin any day. He's a war hero, like McCain, due to his service during the Chaos War, he has more foreign policy experience than Sarah, having served as the head of the Orders of High Sorcery. Plus, he discovered the new ways of sorcery in the Fifth Age, changing the world and giving hope to people suffering under the Dragon Overlords, and this election is supposed to be about change and hope, according to the pundits.

His only drawbacks are that he wouldn't necessarily appeal to Hillary's PUMA voters and the regrettable fact that he is, in truth, fictional.

If we're stating what names we'd like to have on political candidate, I'd like McCain's running mate to add Majere to the end of her name.

Sarah Palin Majere... you know Palin went into politics in his later years as well and became mayor of Solace, a town not much smaller than Wasilla, Alaska. Maybe his next step will be governor of Abanasia?

There was a variant article in Dragon where wizards could get a magic staff that increased in power as their level went up rather than taking a familiar. Does anyone remember what issue that was in?
